  • I actually checked, and it's 6 holes, and I had it on the 5th, still the 2nd tightest. Last night, I got it onto the tightest. :)
  • Thanks. Just had a long squash session against an equally matched opponent. Knackered now though.

  • So yesterday I completed session 10, so 3 weeks complete. Squat: 42.5kg (95lb) BP: 35 (80) BR: 40 (90) OHP: 27.5 (55) Dead: 60 (135) OHP is a bit low after stalling last week, but have done ok with it since. Feel like I might have stalls coming up on a few of the others though. Squat feels fine, mind you :)
  • I pretty much only do 5x5, sometimes have a game of squash. Like you, I do mine before work, and find I rush myself a little, and definitely find it's easier when I make sure I give myself enough rest between reps. It's amazing how much difference 30 seconds of rest can make actually. I stalled on the OHP last week, and I…
  • Right there with ya man. 'Til All Are One!
  • This is really the last one? I stopped after Book 11 I think (Crossroads of Twilight?), so haven't read any of the post-mortem stuff. I've sort of been holding off until it was actually finished, to read the whole thing in one continuous sequence, but I've heard that the latest ones are decent. Unfortunately I've just…
  • From a male POV, I like women curvy. That pic of Christina that was linked is a great example of what I'm talking about.
  • Well I've stalled at session 6. The OHP did me at 25 kg (50 lbs). 5-5-4-4-5. I'm annoyed about it for a few reasons. 1) I let my ego get the better of me, and didn't rest properly between sets 2) I really didn't expect to stall this early I know that part of it is that my form is poor, I hadn't done the OHP in nearly 10…
  • I'll see about creating a toon this weekend, although my total gaming time is limited to about 5 hours a week.
  • Well, for one thing, it's a party. Give yourself the night off. You aren't going to put on 10 lbs because of one night of drinking.. In general, you don't need to stop drinkling, unless you have a problem where you feel like you can't, all you need to do is balance the rest of the week better, to account for the fact that…
  • Not really that contraversial. As I remember it. JMS pitched B5 to Paramount. Paramount said no. JMS takes B5 elsewhere. Paramount creates DS9. That's pretty much the sequence of events. Now, I love Trek. I grew up watching Kirk kick butt, I watched the original run of TNG in the UK, and I thought DS9 was great (aside from…
  • I've read the first 3 books, nd thought it was a decent read, but nothing special. If the 4th book really finishes things off, I'll be glad to read the conclusion.
  • I had knee problems for 15 years before going to physiotherapy, which sounds a lot like what you've got. I couldn't crouch at all, because of how much it hurt. What did my physio get me doing? Stretching my leg muscles. What do squats do? Stretch leg muscles. Make sure you're going parallel, but maybe not beyond parallel,…
  • 2 boys, both coming up on birthdays. 1 will be getting his first birthday at the end of the month, the other is coming up on 4.
  • Welcome aboard! There a plenty of guys even older than you using this program, so recovery shouldn't be too much of a problem as long as you don't let your ego take over and push yourself too hard. Also make sure that you get as much rest as you need on your off days.
  • £19.99/month at my local gym, just 2 sites in the chain, one near where I work, and the other near where I live :) No pool, limited classes, but plenty of cardio machines, a well equipped weights room, and a ladies-only room. They also include sessions with a trainer to help figure out your routine etc if needed.
  • Not an Essex girl, but I grew up on the north bank of the Thames estuary :)
  • My advice would be to not eat at much of a deficit, as the lifting will burn off a chunk anyway. You say you don't have a lot of time, which I completely understand, so I'd suggest looking into something like StrongLifts 5x5, which has approx 30 min workouts, 3x a week. It's a good one to get started with, as you start…
  • If you treat it as a single player game (which mostly, you can), the only real limitation is that you can only have 2 characters. However if you make even one purchase ($5 of microtransaction or pre-order the first paid expansion), you get less limitations as you're a "Preferred" account then, rather than true Free, and…
  • I've been with my wife for 13 years, and before joining MFP, I'd put on somewhere between 3 & 4 stone (20-25kg) over the course of the relationship, most of which was between getting married in 04, and moving in 08. I think it's just a natural part of being in a relationship, until you notice that it's happening, and start…
  • Just to clarify on the StrongLifts.com Gold membership. I think the quoted $200 is for a full year. for something that'll make a smaller dent in your bank balance, I think it's currently $19.99/month. I'll probably be joining the next time Mehdi opens it up.
  • I'm in what would be week 2. 4 sessions completed. Weights completed so far: Squat 27.5kg BP: 27.5 kg BR: 32.5kg OHP: 22.5kg Dead: 45kg I feel like the OHP will be my first stall, but I know I don't rest enough between sets, so if I keep my ego in check, and rest better, I might surprise myself. Been ill this week, else…
  • My first session was Dec 28th, and I felt exactly the same way as you. Managed last week ok, but I've been really ill this week (fever etc), so no gym visits yet this week. Hoping to do session 5 tomorrow.
  • Halo's the reason I got an xbox! Add me, and if I'm on, I'll play. GT: PhoenixAndy
  • Hi! I've just finished week 1, so totally new to it all! Enjoying it so far, but starting to wish I had a training buddy
  • Mehdi himself recommends always warming up with an empty bar, even if it's just 1 set of 5 reps.
  • Smarts is not a requirement ;) I'm also in Yorkshire
  • UK, Geek, but a dad, not a mum :p
  • I wasn't going to, but given that my christmas started early this year (dinner with the in-laws on saturday), aside from being at work today, I seem to be doing so until now. Not going massively over cals either, although I think my macros are all over the place.
