And I guess do both if you're trying to track everything?

The other thing to consider that nutritionists tend to recommend that you have a hearty breakfast, to give your body a good start to the day. To a certain extent, everything you eat after breakfast is just topping the tank up, so as has already been said, as long as your day balances out ok, I really wouldn't worry that…

It's the Runtatsic Pedometer Pro app for my iphone, so it logs every step I take as long as I'm carrying the phone. Just experim enting today suggestions that I've chewed up over 200 calories simply by moving around the office. Is MFP really taking that much into account if I set my activity level to "Lightly Active" vs…

Like a lot of people, it's more than just one day for me (wife's family on 23rd, mine on 25/6th). I'm just accepting that I will eat & drink a lot more than normal, and may even put a couple of pounds back on, because if I do, it'll be a small setback, not a disaster, and will just delay me getting to my goals. I'm already…

A) Yes. It's the only way to make sure you're logging the whole picture. B) Well the obvious answer is that you'll be at a bigger deficit than expected. Opinions vary on whether this is good or bad, but too much of a deficit will (at best) make it harder for your muscles to build new tissue after a workout, which will slow…

I generally don't drink a lot of fizzy drinks at all, but when I do, I always drink the full fat versions, and just work the calories into my day. I'd much rather drink the suger than the artificial sweetners etc that the diet/zero versin have in, and I prefer the taste.

Wow! I want your boyfriend!

If I did that, I'd have to read at least a book a day! Faves: Tolkien George RR Martin Terry Goodkind Isaac Asimov

Yeah, the Sil does take a certain degree of determination to get through, although I think it'd transfer to screen really well. Plenty of conflict, drama etc. just a shame that no-one will ever get the rights to adapt it.

The way they've spread it out is by including a ton of the stuff out of the Appendices of Lord of the Rings, detailing the build-up to the War, in particular all the stuff the Gandalf gets up to when leaves Bilbo & the Dwarves to it. That easily doubles the page count that's being adapted. That said, I'm also dubious about…

The story is one I've always felt would do well in a big budget movie, and as I thought they did a decent job with First Class, I'm quite optimistic about this one.

33, in Yorkshire, but that's not where I started...

If your measurements haven't changed, then the additional weight (assuming the scales are right) must be internal, and is most likely that you've gained more muscle than you think you have, especially if the measurements are a bit smaller in places. Although your workout routine hasn't changed, did you do anything else…

Can't add any advice as I'm just getting started myself. Will be very interested to hear what everyone else has to say.

Not just the heels. Got to appreciate the legs inside those boots too. ;)
-
Thanks. If I wasn't trying to cultivate a professional image at work, I'd be tempted to wear them every day, although the walk to the train is a pig. Definitely boots made for dancing in and looking awesome, not for walking in. ;)
-
Why thank you :) I do tend to get plenty of compliments when I wear them out :)

Shootin' for the moon by Amy Holland (off the Teen Wolf movie soundtrack) Listened to it on repeat the day after I became a father, now it always reminds me of how I felt then :)

Did someone say New Rocks? These are mine:

Not quite, West Yorkshire.

Iron Man (Disney own Marvel now ;) ) or... Simba

I've been 21 for 12 years. Decided I was old enough, not going to get any older. ;)

Congratulations on getting to where you are. Based on my experiences as a teen, you will eventually come to terms with the new you, but until you do, try to enjoy it as much as you can, but don't worry about taking time to let the emotions out when you need to, and don't be afraid to post here again if you need more…

Might not be an option for you, but I started cycling to work. Although slower at first, after a few weeks I was getting to & from work in about the same time that it takes me to get to the train and then sit on the train the rest of the way. Of course, having a shower at work helped, and I was able to follow the train…

I chose somewhere in the middle of the "healthy" BMI range, because without weight training I'd probably have about an average fat/muscle ratio, so the BMI calcs probaby aren't too far off. Thing is, I've never been muscular, at best I had a little definition to my abs in my late teens, so I've got no idea what weight I'll…

Awesome! And it's yet more evidence that starting weights is the right thing for me to do from now.

Clearly you didn't read the first or last sentences of my post.

First up, I'll say it's great that you seem to be getting results already. On the flipside, however, I'd say not to put too much stock in changes over just a couple of days, as your weight can vary by a few lbs even over the course of a single day due to water/food intake/retention etc. This might be seen as me putting a…

My wife is 5'4 and a definite hourglass. I won't post her measurements as that'd be rude, but she's trying to lose weight, and in part down to breastfeeding our 2 boys, she's in a substantial cup sized bra ;)

I'll be starting StrongLifts in the new year, and the simplicity of it is what appeals to me too. Plus the fact that with a little investment up front, I can get started at home, so can fit it much more easily around my other commitments - work, kids, etc. Admittedly once the strength builds and the weights go up, I'll…
