Aww hope I continue to age well then as I've been vegetarian for 18 years! If you enjoy meat then I don't really see any reason to cut it out altogether. Why not just limit it and eat healthier cuts? I'm always anaemic and if my diets not spot on I usually feel bad (and it usually isnt) I find it hard to get enough protein…

I agree with Hildy, something is off. I'm also interested to know what exercises you're doing and whether that routine concided with the start of the weight gain. A strength routine can add 5 or so lbs in a couple of weeks, mainly I think, because your body is holding onto water. When I am strength training I can go weeks…

I know how you feel. I'm trying to move up to maintenance but am finding increased calories a chore. I often end up stuffing myself at the end of the night and feel sick. I was netting really low most days over the last few months and have increased my cals by 150-550 a day. Its been a couple of weeks now and I'm finding…

I can't take multi vitamins (I can take folic so I don't know about other single vitamin doses) because they make me really ill and cause stomach cramps and stuff but if you can I don't see the harm as long as you stick to the recommended dose. Most of the foods I've entered into the database didn't have vitamins on the…

I'm sure there are a lot of people that do not want to work but I think there are more that do. When I was at university most of my friends were 18 and 19 and working. I wasn't because I was studying and raising a family which was enough for me to handle. Most of my friends in their early 20's are also working and out of…

Me! I'm finally kicking this fats butt though and determined to finally wear a bikini before I'm 30!

I see this is a bit of an old thread but I had a NSV today so I'm going to post anyway :o) Today I went to the shops and had to buy the next size down top, trousers and also shoes! It could just have been the particular shops I was shopping in but it felt great especially as I've been increasing my calories over the last…

I used to feel a bit guilty eating popcorn but I eat it all the time after reading this (theres only 100 or so calories in servings of healthier versions though): http://gizmodo.com/5896393/scientific-proof-that-popcorn-is-healthier-than-fruit-and-vegetables Next time you're stuffing your face with popcorn, don't feel…

To start with I just picked a goal weight that I thought was manageable and then when I reached that things were going so well that I decided I could go farther and shot for another 20lbs. As I got towards my goal weight I decided that bf was more important and started lifting weights to try and lower that. Now I'm at my…

I have been eating too little for the last few months and I wouldn't recommend it as I've gone past my goal weight but look nothing like I'd hoped as my body didn't have enough fuel to build a bit of muscle and tone up along the way. I'm just baggy :( The last couple of weeks has been hell trying to eat up to 550 more cals…

I was thinking the same thing as Hildy. I'd been netting far too low for a few months and although I was losing lots of weight, my body hasn't ended up the way I'd hoped so its worth checking out how many calories your body needs otherwise you'll be disappointed at the end of your journey. I'm now trying to find my…

Thats a fantastic NSV! Congrats on your progress and your loss. Keep up the great work.

Yes I do think you should keep up the weight training. If you eat at a large deficit (I know you've upped your calories now) then you will lose weight quickly but you will likely lose more muscle than fat. By keeping the deficit small and working your muscles using weights you will keep a lot more of your muscle and the…

Sounds good. Most people seem to like to get down to a good weight/bf% before thinking about bulking. Otherwise it can just make you feel even more fat . Keep up the strength!

Ok so you're still trying to lose and just trying to retain muscle. Have you tried calculating your tdee and deducting 15-20% (I'm not sure how many lbs in a kg but the less you have to lose, the smaller your cal deficit should be). This should give you a better estimate of how many cals you need to eat whilst still losing…

You do need to eat quite a bit more. I'm f/5ft 4 and I get sick if I eat 1200 and exercise consistantly for a few weeks. The increase in weight is normal as your muscles will hold onto a lot of water for repairs. You won't really gain muscle yet as that's a very slow process and is almost impossible eating at such a…

I've only ever dated one guy who wore glasses all the time but I don't remember it ever being an issue. My guys just recently had to start wearing glasses and I do find it a little funny because I'm not used to seeing him wear them but it's good to be able to use them to make jokes about him getting old as I'm sure he's…

I've been on this journey since last November and I've parted with a few of my larger clothes but I still have more that don't fit than new clothes that do. I have thought about getting rid of a load of them but I'm not quite ready yet as I'm still not convinced I'll be this weight from now on and I want another baby some…

When I was eating 1400 cals and doing half hours exercise a day I lost weight quite quickly so I'm sure I could have got away with eating more. Have you looked at a BMR calculator to give you an estimate of how many calories you would need if you just stayed in bed all day? You shouldn't really eat below that. Also a TDEE…

Haha trying to get my boobs back is my main motivation for starting to up my calories and do a mini bulk. I'm worried about my tum too as I still have some fat and a lot of extra skin there (thanks kids) but I'm hoping lifting will help pull it in a bit. I figure you have to focus on either a cut or a bulk otherwise you'll…

Amazing transformation! You must feel great!

If you have a good relationship with your doc I don't see why it would be much of an issue if they mentioned your boobs but I'd find it strange if you didn't know the doc at all and they started talking like that. Unfortunately for me, I have lost all my boobs through dieting. They were a nice C but I seem to barely be…

I'm not sure I can really help much as I'm not a doctor but here goes anyway.... I think you need to try and eat more. Not eating enough makes me dizzy, faint and leaves me feeling just plain ill so you need to find something you can eat to fill your calories. Pasta is usually quite high in calories if you don't mind the…

Thanks for the responses. I will start with the lifting again then and kind of hope for the best a bit lol. I do push ups and planks but do not vary them much so I will give that suggestion a try. With regards to the bulk - I was going to do a mini one anyway to try and help me build some more muscle so I guess I'll find…

It's ok not to want kids. It's your body and your decision. You've got time to think about this properly and change your mind if you want to in the future. Personally my only real regret is having my first so young but I was told I'd never be able to have kids so when I fell pregnant it was a shock! As my pregnancy…

There are medical conditions that can make it difficult for people to lose weight so it might be worth talking to your doc if you really are finding it hard. They may be able to get you the help and support you need in the real world. For me, I was always overweight. I struggle with my physical health which makes it…

To have a flat tummy. Never had one even before all my little ones came along so its a challenge!

Depends how your body is made up really. I started this time round at 167lbs and was wearing (UK) 16. Previously around this weight I could fit comfortably in a 14. I got down to 150 a couple of years ago and could fit in some size 10 jeans (still size 12 tops) Currently I'm 114lbs and wearing size 10

Wow thats an awesome difference! Well done!
