  • I would probably cut down the cals for a few days but not as low as 1400 . It sounds as though you like your food and there's no point punishing yourself by cutting them down so low or you'll get miserable and binge again. Even if you continued to stick to your proper goal you'd probably start losing again once your body…
  • Maybe they just feel some kind of boob is better than no boob lol. I hate my barely fill an a cup boobs when I used to be a full c. As someone else said, I expect they look a little less obvious when the ladies let their body fat rise a bit.
  • If you found yourself giving in to temptation then maybe you were being too strict with your food(?). I found it much easier to lose weight by trying to eat well-fruit, veg, good carbs ect but also allowing myself daily treats. If it fits my macros then I have a cookie or two, a few squares of chocolate or a piece of cake.…

  • Here an apple pie is half the price of 6 apples. Fresh food prices are ridiculous as is anything labelled as a healthier alternative.
  • My fella doesn't want me to buy him anything, he likes things that are homemade. Today kinda escaped me (I planned to give him something everyday up to Valentines) but so far I've made him a heart shaped hand warmer and a chocolate covered biscuit which is made from 3 layers of biscuit with a hollow inside that had a…
  • Bad idea. You need a balanced diet or you die of malnutrition. Lots of sugars and carbs and little protein for your muscles or calcium for your bones. Read up on nutrition and enjoy your food.
  • So glad you posted this. I got back to training 10 days ago as I need to recomp and I've gained 3lbs and between 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch pretty much everywhere I measure. Its sooo disheartening as I was hoping to tone up and slim down a little by Valentines but as his rate I'll be staying in and dossing about in my nightie…
  • I would like to stay a UK 8. Some places an 8 is too big for me but only a limited amount of stores seem to sell size 6 and I don't want to be limited for choice!
  • Variety is key, enjoys lots of good foods. Too many fruits would be bad for you and I may be wrong but, I don't think most are very high in protein which you need lots of to retain muscle as you slim. Also that menu doesn't sound high enough in calories. Work out your TDEE and cut 10% off of that. Enjoys all the different…
  • Have you just started exercising? If so, the gain is probably just your muscles holding onto water and stuff for repairs. It can show as a gain on the scale but its not really a gain. Keep up the great work.
  • 1lb a week is great progress and the more can eat, the more likely you are to stick to your plan and not feel deprived.

  • Eating more to weigh less is about not cutting calories harshly. If you don't give your body enough calories to use for fuel then your body will panic and hold on to all the fat because its not sure if more food is coming. I would start by working out your TDEE - the total amount of calories you burn in a day and this will…
  • Yup. I joined just before Christmas 2012. I'm hoping I won't have to count forever but I'm still working towards goals at the moment and need to make sure I'm eating enough now.
  • If body recomp is what you want then I think you're going to have to find something to lift. Doesn't have to be actual weights, just heavy things. I really realised enough was enough today when I was trying on the smallest clothes in the shop and finding that they were too big. Its going to be a real pain in the bum if I…
  • I second weighing something like a dumbell. Depending on the scales you might not be able to do that, so you might want to try weighing an object on it before you go lugging dumbells around. My scale only seems to weigh humans. It's like it can sense whether feet are on it or not. Weird.
  • Have you had your body fat tested in some way? I look skinny fat but I guess most of my problem is really just loose skin as my home scale puts me at around 23% bf which is healthy.
  • What a difference! Well done!
  • I mean that I think you should worry about your health first and any problems like loose skin can be dealt with later if necessary although as I said there are a few things you can do along the way to help. I've seen some people halt their journey to health and fitness because they aren't looking the way they hoped and…
  • No one can say how your body will respond to weightloss. As the above poster said, strength training will help as will losing the weight slowly if possible, staying hydrated and possibly moisturiser. Even when you're done losing weight your skin will continue to change for about a year. I haven't seen much change in weight…

  • Congrats! You've got your life back! I've seen quite a few of your posts on here and they're always supportive and inspirational. I'm so happy that mfp has worked for you and I enjoyed reading your story. Thanks
  • Christmas really threw me off too. Still feel worn out because of it lol. It's frustrating but at times like these I just do my best to keep my plan in mind so I don't completely fall off the wagon and look forward to my determination returning. If you want to exercise when it returns then you can find the time. Take the…
  • Bumping for later. I've seen recipes like this before but seeing pictures really makes me feel like I should give it a go!
  • I don't suppose it really matters and it is certainly your choice but I find I feel closer to friends who have pics of themselves and/or families and we tend to chat more than I do with friends who don't have a pic of themselves.
  • I've been told I'm more fun now but I also get squashed more easily as I don't have so much padding anymore. I say, talk to your husband if you're uncomfortable and have fun experimenting with new positions!
  • In for ideas. I upped my cals from a very low calorie diet to 1500-1600 a day and I also now have insane sweet cravings. Its been 3 weeks now and the cravings are starting to settle a bit but its still frustrating me. I don't deny myself treats but I also want to gain muscle and not just lots of fat lol
  • I expect my eldest will be around 12 when I feel he is capable of being left alone for a while. He is almost 10 now and I think once he moves up to 'big' school he will have to start growing up a bit more and learning to look after himself. That's the age when he might have to start getting himself to school by walking or…
