  • Peanut butter! Cookies, chips, etc. don't tempt me at all, but I can go HAM on a jar of peanut butter. In terms of ice cream, I've been buying pints of Arctic Zero and Wink (look them up online! both are awesome!). I CAN limit myself to a 1/2 cup, but feel like there's no point and would rather have a huge bowl. :) With…
  • Definitely this! Moderation is key to long-lasting weight loss! Also I do admit that quote has popped into my mind when I'm starting to get sucked into a Mindless Snacking Vortex (as I do) and eating out of comfort and not hunger. I ask myself whether busting into a jar of peanut butter with a spoon will feel as good as my…
  • I like this site! http://www.poorgirleatswell.com/
  • Coffee - brewed from grounds Protein Plus Peanut Flour - 12% light roast Blue Diamond - Almond Milk Unsweetened Strawberries, raw
  • Pretty much this. I am 5'2" and got up to 137.5 a few years back due to a combination of mindless snacking, attempts at crash diets followed by bingeing, and not being honest about the damage an indulgent night at the bar could do. Keeping an accurate log of my intake helped tremendously and kept me on task. It also helped…
  • A few years ago I made the Hungry Girl buffalo chicken dip with a variety of dippers (carrots, celery, pita, tortilla chips). It was a hit with those who were watching their intake and those who weren't. I've also made wings simply baked in hot sauce....they aren't intentionally a lower-cal alternative, that's just how my…
  • I've tried both Better n' Peanut Butter and peanut flour (like others have said, similar to PB2), and actually find that peanut flour is tastier and more similar to "real" peanut butter....to my taste buds at least. But I'd recommend trying both and seeing what works better for you, I guess. If you do go for the peanut…
  • I feel like this is such a common problem for 20somethings! I've started to move on from my "partying phase" to trying to make better lifestyle choices, but a lot of my good friends are still in the party-party mode, and I don't want to miss out on time with them, but nor do I want to derail my goals! I don't know your…
  • Definitely sashimi and avocado! I ordered a sashimi entree w/ avocado salad on a day I'd burned a good amount of calories working out -- knew it wasn't the lowest-cal dinner but thought it was still fairly "virtuous." Logged the calories into MFP and was stunned! I assumed sashimi had to be lower because I never feel…
  • Cottage cheese, greek yogurt, fruit smoothies with protein powder. Veggies like broccoli and spinach might surprise you with their protein content!
  • What calorie target are you looking at? You could throw 0.5-1 tbsp of peanut butter in there; the fat will help with satiety.
  • I'm cutting wayyyyy back on peanut butter, but definitely not cutting it out. I just need to curtail my habit of going to town on 1/4 jar at a time >:(
  • For me, it depends on my total planned calorie/fat intake during the day...I just try to balance it out. I'm trying to pre-make my own yogurt parfaits to bring to work, and just bought a large container of 0% Fage...more economical that way! If I'm rushed and just grabbing a standalone snack from the convenience store, it…
  • I did as well. When I was first trying to lose weight (and failing), I would cling to products like this. I would feel unsatisfied and end up bingeing an hour later! I've had much more success with real, whole foods in moderation. Give me some old-fashioned oats with raisins and peanut butter any day!
  • Breakfast - a smoothie with protein powder & frozen fruit or oatmeal Lunch - Lean meat (chicken breast) and greens. Sweet potato if it's the weekend and I've put in a hard workout before lunch. Maybe a salad? Snack- some combination of berries, yogurt, carrot sticks Dinner - Chicken, pork, salmon, steak -- pan-seared or…
  • My go-to is berries & cottage cheese or greek yogurt. A favorite snack is one I had today...1 cup strawberries topped with 1/2 cup 0% Fage and a little Splenda. I used to try the 90-cal bar thing and it didn't work for me at all! It's also helped if I eat slowly and take sips of water between bites.
