For long runs (10 plus miles) I'll have a banana with honey on. Seems to work well.

I'll be taking Christmas day off but that's about it

How far are you running? What speed can you run now over what distance? Si

The DC rainmaker reviews are amazing. I buy most of my training kit off the back of his reviews

If you have a look at this review, it will tell you everything you need to know. http://www.dcrainmaker.com/2011/10/garmin-forerunner-910xt-in-depth-review.html It will definitely tell you what calories you've burned and just about everything else!!

Hi there, I've got about 1 1/2 weeks left until I've completed month 2!! I've not lost a lot of "weight" about 5 lbs so far but my fitness levels and body shape has changed a massive amount. Arms, shoulders, stomach, legs etc. My cardio fitness and strength is at an all time high, I did the fit test on Monday and was able…

Hi there, I'm 2 days into the 2nd month and its great. The difference is amazing, but like anything you have to work for it. The first month was hard but by the end, I found I could keep up with everyone on the DVD without really having to stop. The second month so far is amazingly hard, makes the first month look like it…

I always go with, I'm not trying to lose weight, I'm trying to lose fat!"

I'm doing insanity and I'm eating about 2100 a day and I still get very hungry. darkguardian4 si spot on, eat more protein
-
I do both. Mornings is insanity, I usually get up around 5.30. Evenings are for runs between 30mins and an hour after the kids are in bed!
-
Hi there, I'm two weeks into insanity and I'm still training for a Half marathon which at the moment is about 30-40 miles running a week. Apart from a couple of tired runs I've been ok. I do insanity in the mornings and run on an evening. I've found as long as I eat enough and stretch properly after both workouts I'm good…

"The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle"

I focused on distance at first and slowly started adding short fast runs in once a week to work on my overall speed. I now split my weekly runs into four categories. 1. Long Slow Runs 2. Mid Speed Mid Distance Runs (with hills) 3. Fast Short Runs (either 1 mile or 3.1miles) 4. Recovery Runs Out of all of them, the Fast…

I'm starting on Monday, I did the fitness test last Wednesday to see what it was like and it was a lot harder than I thought it was going to be. I'm looking forward to starting it!!

Thanks everyone :) I would have never had believed it this time last year but it seems I'm not that bad at running. I saw a quote the other day which I love. The more you sweat in training, the less you bleed in battle. I think this has now become my personal mantra

Between 1,960 and 2300 at the minute, I walk around 3/4 miles a day and run every other day. I started out on 1600 and have slowly been increasing it over the past few months, it works out at about 0.5 - 1lbs per week
-
I have eggs every morning, usually scrambled. They keep me full until around mid morning.
-
Good thinking about the 2/3 weeks before, I would have never considered that. sjp_511, your calorie burned amounts seem pretty close to mine. I tend to run on the evenings but I'm finding running after a whole days worth of food isn't a lot of fun so I'm switching to morning runs this week to see if that helps, so this…

cool, thanks for the reply.

Cycling works for me, 25mins riding into work burns around 400-500 calories
-
Protein shakes, that's a good idea. I do use them when I've been out for a big bike ride but that could be a good way to add some protein first thing in the morning.

spmccann, water was a big one for me, it had never really occurred to me before how little I was drinking. Good advice about mixing up the exercise as well. TavistockToad, that's my goal now a lager amount of the same stuff. The white bread, I was only having one slice but for some reason to get the correct calorie amount…

I do enjoy the weights, I find it a good stress release. Going to do my best to hit my targets today, with things like natural yogurt, nuts and fish and I having a home made stir fry to get in loads of veg.

melaniecheeks, done, I missed that in the settings. fatboyruss, thanks for the reply, googling nutrient dense foods now. I was doing a small amount of weight training for a few months but I was bulking up to much so I've cut it down to a bit of resistance training, chin ups, pull ups and press ups. As a family we try to…
