The answer is not really. Using the elliptical is considered a form of cross-training which you should be doing on some of your days off from the C25k app. It won't take the place of running. I second the Jari Love Ripped. I have the Slim & Lean DVD. No jumping around and lots and lots of reps with low weights. She shows you correct form and the best part is that you can always add heavier weights as you progress.

I am 5'10" with a small frame and my goal weight is 130-135. Everyone's mileage varies, though, and two women the same height will still carry weight differently. My 135 might look totally different on you.

When I really want something sweet, I will make some quick trail mix with peanuts and semisweet or dark chocolate chips. Or I will mix some granola with some strawberry greek yogurt. I also really, really love the white chocolate macadamia Luna bars for a quick fix that will fill you up, too.
