  • I have gained since the death of my younger brother by an accidental overdose on prescription pain medication. I am grieving but working and always looking for new friends! I am very supportive :0) I'll keep you in my thoughts!
  • Congrats! Let's be friends :o)
  • I bring it up only the way someone might say they have a degree in human development or veterinary medicine....it means that you don't work in nutrition specifically but you have a working knowledge of anatomy and the way the body functions, which is a big step up from a lot of other people on this website.
  • Also also, though nearby to some, Greece is not one of the Romance countries I referenced. You seem to be confused. I've never lived in Greece, so I couldn't really comment about their lifestyle--good thing I didn't. All I said was that when I lived in Europe I used a lot more public transportation than I do…
  • Haha, bro chill out! You seem really defensive on behalf of Atkins...and like several of us have said we're not attacking you, we're just not that diet's biggest fans. Not a big deal. I love how you write about me "really" being an archaeologist though, as if it's something really crazy to be...it's not like I said I'm a…
  • I've spent years living in the Romance countries of Europe and yes, my diet consisted of a lot of pastas and cheeses and wines, but I lost weight and was smaller than I had been since I was 12--but then, I was also walking everywhere (or, at the very least, walking to a bus or train) and spending a large portion of my time…
  • I had an amazing success with hypnotherapy when I was living in Italy...I visited a specialist and also listened to his CDs to go to sleep at night, and lost 90 pounds in three months. I felt amazing. It was insane. I went from a size 18 in February 2009 to a 6 in May 2009. But then I moved back to the States, gave up the…
  • Haha that's super nice to say!!
  • Not that I know anything about this...*cough*....but hemp, at least in the US, can only be grown legally if it the low-to-non-THC variety, which can be used for making tons of things, from shoes to paper, similar to cotton, but is pointless to smoke.
  • Congratulations! You look beautiful and you also look about ten years younger!
  • Congratulations! You look beautiful and you also look about ten years younger!
  • You look fantastic! Congratulations and keep it up!!
  • GOOD LUCK I definitely think you can do it if you put your mind to it...I did the same thing (30DS during the day, gym at night) and I wound up getting burnt out and frustrated and going off both for like two weeks! So be wary and aware of your energy level. :flowerforyou:
  • This is very real!! They sell it at lumber yards and such places for people who are moving around a lot at work, like construction workers.

  • I've read adding baby powder is a great improvement! It absorbs moisture as you begin to sweat where your legs are rubbing together and keeps a rash from building as quickly. For a long time I moisturized the area and it turns out that is the absolute wrong thing to do.

  • I so strongly agree with this...we are on this site to be here to support each other's changes, even if they are slow changes or changes we ourselves never went through. It never fails to amaze me when people on a help site are so quick to judge and critique each other. If one doesn't feel like being supportive they could…
  • Happy lifestyle change to you Melinda!
  • OH WOW I never thought of breading them first! I can't believe that! I honestly just thought that if I could just figure out how to do it right, I could get the outsides to crust up of their own accord.
  • OOOH, SIGN ME UP!! :) I already added several of you...everyone who joins from here on should add me too!! I love this so much.
  • Ooh! I make up a vegetarian pad thai sauce or a sweet chili sauce from random online recipes and then put that over tofu...it gives you the flavors of Thailand without the heavy carbs from noodles and ickiness like fermented fish sauce! Gross!
  • THIS THIS THIS THIS. I especially get this when people's goal calories are 1200 and they've already burned an extra like 800 calories that day doing some awesome class, and they can't even eat 1200, much less their exercise calories. They agonize and eventually eat, like, three cups of spinach and five carrots to try and…
  • I make Starbucks drinks at home in my Tassimo, and an espresso with a Starbucks cream shot is 85 calories! :) It breaks down to 80 calories for the cream and 5 for the espresso. The cream comes packaged directly from Starbucks, so I assume it's the correct information. Good luck!
  • Exactly! Or even just a day that you never once think a negative thought in the mirror. A(n) NSV is whatever you need it to be!
  • YAY KELSO I'M SO EXCITED YOU JOINED! THIS IS GOING TO BE AWESOME :drinker:
  • This is amazing!! You should do a forum post or blog post with your tips and full success story so far--I would love to read it!!! Also I am weird so I noticed your phone and nail colors switched! Hahaha :blushing:
  • WOW, you both look FANTASTIC!! Your wife is lovely. :flowerforyou: Congratulations!!!
  • Sunds great! I'm really excited now.
  • You seem to have done all of the things I'd recommend! Maybe switching up the days on which you do various exercises, like doing three days of strength and two days of cardio instead of vice-versa...I'm not sure. You seem well-informed. I'd also monitor your calories really closely, and restrict down on most days (eat 50…
  • Definitely you do! If you're on an elliptical or something, don't just use the "quick start" but put in your weight, and then you'll be amazed at all the calories you were burning and not getting credit for when it was estimating your weight! Hahaha. That's often why people get frustrated as well, because they actually…
