İt may be too early? İt literally took me four full weeks eating at a deficit to see the tiniest drop on the scale, but i gradually saw changes in my body. Are you taking pics? Are you aiming to maintain or lose? İ would give it a bit longer...

I have a Polar FT7, the next model up, and I love it :) The main difference is that the FT7 holds more training sessions. I love my hrm!

Give up coffee!? cra-zy! I would try to slowly cut back on the milk, then switch to low fat, and plan to fit it in your daily calorie allowance. I used to drink coffee with milk, but these days love it black and rarely have coffee with milk.

Very glad you made this group Steve! Appreciate your advice and useful information.

I have a hrm, have been using it for around a year, and I love it. I was way overestimating using mfp and even though I know the hrm isn't 100% accurate, I find it motivating. I got a fitbit about 2 weeks ago, and found it really useful to show my daily activity... I was mostly interested in the sleep tracker, and it was…

I have both... a polar hrm (think it is a ft7?) and recently got a fitbit... I love both of them! I wear the fitbit all the time, except when I do cardio, then I use my hrm as I think it's more accurate. I was mostly interested in the fitbit tracking my sleep, but I love seeing how far I have walked every day too. Addicted…

I agree... having the option to lift heavy with a range of weights/ machines at the gym will be far more advantageous in the long term than the dvds...

Have a plan Prepare in advance and stick to plan Stay patient/ consistent

I was at uni and my friend gave me a lift to the pool... which was closed. Rather than sit around and wait, I joined her gym class, and ended up joining the gym for the taebo class... when I signed up they gave me a basic weight training program, and I was hooked. 10 years later I met my husband at a gym in Turkey :)

I have started the Game of Thrones... so far I'm having trouble keeping track of the different characters

I use a polar ft7 and I love it :) Wasn't too expensive, but it's a worthwhile investment anyway

This week I did something like this... Day 1 back, biceps, triceps Day 2 chest and quads Day 3 shoulders Day 4 calves and abs Day 5 full leg workout Day 6 off day 7 cardio only Day 1-5 I did a bike ride most mornings as I am trying to make the most of the summer weather and freedom to get outdoors for cardio. As for…

Good for you for reaching your goal! (And I like beards :) )

We are staying up 'late' to watch the opening ceremony. Having Rowan Atkinson in it- gold!
-
I lift about 4 or 5 days a week... I'm gonna add you...
-
I've stopped logging my strength training calories... I was using my hrm but figured that was pretty inaccurate due to the rest periods... No idea, really.
-
What about greek yoghurt with some chocolate protein powder mixed through? Any reason you're trying to stay low carb?
-
I agree that 80s themed parties are always fun! And like the Katy Perry idea too
-
I am really sorry you are going through this but i am glad to see you take the first step and acknowledge that you have a problem. I am here if there is anything i can do.
-
I eat the same thing every morning... 40grams oats one whole egg three egg whites, half a teaspoon cinnamon, quarter of a chopped apple all mixed up and cooked as a pancake in a teaspoon of coconut oil :)

Some good advice in this thraed. Stick to your calorie goal and you will be fine. I personally would allow for a bigger iftar meal, but that is just me. I found going without water far more difficult than food anyway.
