Thanks Steve. I try to catch the negative self talk right away, and find some way to make it positive. Start to think 'Look at my flabby belly!' (while doing a plank). Stop and think, 'I had 2 pregnancies that went 42 weeks! I am taking the time to exercise, and look, I can hold it the full 70 seconds.' I find it very hard…

I'm sure you can guess the answer. In a mommy group I'm in I see people that are clearly struggling with weight more than ı am, and the first thing I do is say something positive, but when it comes to myself, I'm horrible. I have been making an effort, but as I said above, it doesn't come naturally, so is a work in…

Hi everyone, 1. What made you accept the invitation or join? I love everything Steve has to say. Lot of respect, always love to learn. 2. What's your biggest challenge when it comes to your fitness? Argh, being so exhausted all the time. I am a stay at home mum to a 2.5 year old and 10 month old, living in Turkey (I'm…

My favourite marinade is from Kalynskitchen.com Savory Marinade for Chicken, Pork, or Beef (This makes enough marinade for 6-8 pieces of meat; I've had this recipe so long I don't remember where I found it!) Ingredients: 1/2 cup olive oil 1/4 cup white wine vinegar 3 T full fat mayo (do not use Miracle Whip, it has added…

Mine turned out quite eggy... I used the 3 whole eggs and 2 egg whites as the original recipe states. It was still ok, I love eggs anyway.

I am the friend thinthought mentioned :) My bub is 12 weeks today, and on a good day on the scales I am at pre-pregnancy weight, on a bad day it will show about 2lb higher. For me, the first 10kgs dropped off at 2 weeks without me doing much at all, and I thought it would be easy to lose the last 5kg. For the past 4 weeks…

Thanks Steve for taking the time to answer, and to sidesteel and Sara!

For a girl we are thinking Melike Rose, and for a boy, Oliver Cem (pronounced Jem). I had been calling the baby Nuri for 2-3 months, but every Turkish person says it's too old fashioned and not a nice name at all :( I'm not sold on Cem, but can't find an alternate Turkish boy name I like more. I'm so convinced it's a boy,…

I miss sweet potato!! I'm living in Turkey, and if and when you can find them, they are something like 20dollars a kilo!!

Wondering if there are any particular programs you recommend for pregnant women? I'm in my 3rd trimester, and I'm walking more and more, but still trying to do 2-3 weigh sessions per week, although I feel a bit lost about what 'program' to follow.

I also plan to use cloth nappies- old school, terry towelling squares! A friend is trying to pick up some mother ease covers for me. I did buy some liners and boosters, and the nappy nippas to fasten them with. I'm actually looking forward to using cloth nappies, even though all my friends here (and husband) think I'm…

We aren't finding out the gender, but I have a strong suspicion we are having a boy. Girl names are no problem, but boy names... we are having some problems! My husband is Muslim, and wants to use an Arabic/ Turkish name as a middle name, but it's hard enough to find English boy names we like! Some of our options: Blake…

14 weeks First pregnancy- had a partial molar miscarriage last year in April Am only just starting to ease back into my workouts... was very exhausted from weeks 8-12, as I'm working full time (often 6 days a week and sometimes 12 hour days) and doing university long distance. Have started to get back into the lifting, and…

We have already started talking about names, and it's quite difficult as my husband is Turkish, and we're living in Turkey, so we want a Turkish name, but one that's not too common, and would also 'work' in Australia. We are leaning more towards Arabic names, and have found girl names we both like, but boys is much more…
