I had a rotator cuff problem (got it from swimming) - physio and doing the exercises sorted it - but it's still a bit fragile and if I bunch my fists or tense my upper body when I'm running (which I don't always notice I'm doing) then my shoulders get really stiff and sore again. If you cant afford physio there are lots of…

The best thing is to go for lots of different kinds of run, some slow short runs, some slow long runs and some slow runs with speed intervals by which I mean 20 secs of as fast as you can possibly manage....they're quite fun and more importantly they gradually teach your body how to run fast. That way when you are fitter…

I get shoulder pain while running. - my personal trainer says that you use your arms a lot during (especially when you're trying to go faster) and that I should try and build up my upper body strength with press ups and stuff

Sweatty Betty do a really nice running skort

I'm a writer. Does that count?

That sounds about right to me, I'm 5'7.5 and my goal weight is 148lbs. That's about 3/4 of the way through the BMI 'healthy' range for me. I'm also pretty big framed so I thought that was a good place to aim for. If you're an inch and a half taller 158lbs sounds spot on. Good luck!

http://laylaanwarkitchen.blogspot.co.uk/2012/03/chana-dhal-or-yellow-split-peas.html This one is really good - I've cooked it several times and it's very easy but because it uses yellow split peas the cooking takes time....red lentils are much quicker and this looks like a pretty sensible recipe but I haven't tried it :)

maybe try one aspect at a time...work out which of your 'sin' list is the worst for calories and promise yourself you'll give it up for a month, To make things more positive you could have a jar and put a dollar or 50p in it every time you eat a piece of fruit and when you've filled the jar you can use the money to buy a…

how amazing is that, I'm jealous!

I'm a veggie and I'm happy to help if I can....the most important thing to remember with veg food is to make sure you get enough protein, then you won't be so hungry...hummous, falafel, eggs, soft cheese, nuts...if you're from the UK vegetarian haggis is great so are quorn chicken pieces that you can eat in a noodle soup…

I get a veggie box delivered once a week and I eat everything that's in it - also I cook a bit too much supper and then put it in a tupperware box for the next day. I'm vegetarian so I tend to cook vegetables and then empty a can of cooked beans in to them. It's not smart cooking but it's very quick and easy
-
oh and cottage cheese and beans
-
I'm veggie too and coming on MFP made me realise that I wasn't eating nearly enough protein (I think that's part of why I put on so much weight beforehand)...tofu is good, so is fage 0% fat yoghurt and skimmed milk, if you eat them eggs and prawns help and so do nuts but they have loads of fat as well. I use a hemp protein…

I've got Runkeeper and it's really great - you can listen to music and it tells you your pace every 5mins and then gives you loads of stats when you've finished. I've got it on iPhone but I know they do an android app too.... feel free to add me as a friend if you want a running pal

you look about 15 years younger!

boiled eggs or skimmed milk, hemp powder and black strap molasses

not quite as crunchy as you but always up for getting crunchier! I'll send you a friend request...

I've been doing it for about a month now and it's been really worth it...I've found my taste buds have completely recalibrated so now even milk tastes sweet... and it definitely is compulsive. I have a biscuit and I finish the packet, that doesn't happen with the fruit bowl!
-
very inspiring and you make me think that the lifting thing might really work
-
gosh you look fantastic!
-
Thank you very much guys for all the requests - one of the things I really like about MFP is how kind and supportive people are and what amazing results people get!

I'm a veggie but no one else in my family is so I have to cook meat for everyone else and try and make stuff for me as well. I'ts made even more complicated by the fact my daughter has a very sensitive dairy allergy...anyway up I'm training my son (age 10) to cook meat as he's the one who really wants it and luckily my…

I put 50p in a jar for every mile I run & when I've got enough money I buy myself some better fitting clothes!
