Agreed - A great quote I heard was "Never eat food which has a TV commercial". So simple yet bloody genius!!

This is an epic thread!! My most important tip(s)... 1) DON'T starve yourself. 2) Measure/weigh your food. You'd be suprised how much you can over/underestimate how much you're eating. 3) Cardio AND weights. Together. Strips away the fat and builds the awesome. 4) Invest in decent equipment, e.g. Heart Rate Monitor,…

OMG that's like a whole extra cracker a day!! Thanks!! .... On second thoughts, maybe I'll just actually punch people in the face. Would most likely burn more.

Thanks for the info :) Interesting read!

I once read that you burn 600 calories donating blood. So does this mean I can count it in my calorie intake? Maybe put it under Exercise? "Zoe burned 647 calories doing Her Very Best Not To Punch People In The Face".

AMEN! :)

Bump... I too am concerned about the number of cals to eat... Looking for any advice going :) Good luck!

Child-bearing hips. ALL THE CHILDREN WILL BE BORN BY THESE HIPS.

I don't want to be "that person", but I honestly think TGI's is just a place where you eat a lot of calories.... Honestly, you're better doing some cardio/weights etc before (and maybe after!) your meal, to try and burn it off... Sorry it's not the answer you're looking for! But really, what is the point of going to TGI's…

This made me LOL so hard. Currently weight-lifting myself (lightly, I'm only a beginner but getting there!)... I want to paint myself green and go as the Hulk for Halloween.

Bump :) Great thread!

I love this! Thank you!!

Consider the quality of the calories you're eating - try and eat things which are really high in protein (and a protein shake if you'd be up for that!) such as chicken, fish, beans, etc. Very little point in staying under your calorie goal if you're only eating things like chips. Also, water can make a big difference - if…

I love this thread. I will post some pics first thing in the morning.... You all get ready for some raging thunder-thighs and (unfortunately) saddle-bags!!! LOL :) Seriously, amazing thread. Makes me feel so much better, I'm not alone! P.s. OP, you are gorgeous. I love your attitude, and your amazing poses!! :D

Hmmmm. Yeah, ok then. I'll give it a go. Bring it on :D

Forgive the ignorance, but what is the 30 Day Squat Challenge? I'm intrigued :)

A lot of people here are saying about the effects of child-bearing.... Which of course is unavoidable and totally understandable! I have a few friends who are concerned about their "mummy pouch" that won't shift despite exercise... Seems to be a pretty common concern...!! Maybe the NHS should offer tummy-tucks at the same…

Do you have boobs? I'll swap you :p

Very true! But on a site that provides such encouragement for exercise and calorie-control (i.e. doing this The Proper Way), I'm very interested to hear what the majority of folk think :)

Good for you!! :) I know a girl (well, a friend of a friend) who has had breast implants, but she is only mid-late 20s and no kids... However our mutual friend says that she is the happiest she has been in a long time and doesn't regret her surgery in the slightest!! I am extremely pear-shaped, and although I currently…

I'd be lying if I said I didn't make little bodies out of play-dough.... Does that count? Also, if they are anatomically correct, does that mean I'm a perv? Playschool certainly seemed to think so.

Perhaps it's the "wrong" thing to do, but I don't log it if it's any less than half an hour... However, I have gotten into the bad habit of not logging a small amount of cals instead. So for example, if I have one or two Wine Gum sweets (14 cals each), or 10g of half-fat butter on my toast (30cals) I won't log them if I've…

^^^ This. Alcohol is a diuretic (it causes you to lose water more quickly - hence why you pee so much!), so putting aside the calories you 'eat' from drinking it, it's the recovery phase that does the damage. The 'hangover' feeling is just dehydration kicking in. This dehydration will then in turn cause you to crave 'bad'…

McDonalds. One McD's meal is my entire days' allowance of calories. Now, when I see a McDs meal I feel a strange mixture of disgust... and lust. *sigh*

@dodihere, You remind me of Wendie Malick :) Very sophisticated looking!

Hey, I found this, seems to be pretty good :) http://www.livestrong.com/article/458832-signs-symptoms-of-starvation-mode/ I am by no means an expert but from what I understand, when you don't eat enough calories to supply your body with the fuel it needs (especially if you're exercising), then it's like your body 'panics'…

I don't have the same HRM as you, although assuming they're all basically the same then they are pretty comfortable :) Just make sure you don't strap it on too tight! Although something I have had bother with, and recommend researching (maybe someone here can recommend a solution?!): When you first get your HRM you usually…

I want to be an unexpected threat. More specifically, I want people to look at me and go "Oh look, she's short and skinny, she can't do anything, let's just nick her bag-OH DEAR SWEET JESUS MY ARRRRRMM! SHE BROKE MY GODDAMN ARM!!"

HAAAAAA! I'm sorry, but your mohawk.... It's too epic. There can't be this much awesomeness in one relationship. I need someone with flatter hair.
