Yeah that's a good list. It's funny when I first started watching YouTube channels it was Scooby/Hodge Twins - not big into research. Both of them helped me at first, but as I learned more there was plenty I didn't agree with. Then I found Ian McCarthy and Blaha - and while I loved their evidence backed info - I find both…

Fran Crippen drowned and he was a professional long distance swimmer that won a number of international medals. Just saying...

Well I was massive so keep that in mind. But even without that factor, most places online estimate softball to be a decent burn. Obviously these are all estimates - but this whole calorie counting is one big estimation anyways.…
-
Well to be fair - calorie burns are also based on a person's size - at my heaviest I would have easily burned 900 in two softball games.

I'd argue that judging someone's knowledge or expertise from their appearance alone is fallacious. I wouldn't discount anyone of any size if they presented a well thought out, well sourced and evidence backed argument. I also learned my lesson about listening to people just because they were in great shape.

Just googled - 15. Im closer BUT according to Price is Right rules, it is closest WITHOUT going over, so you win this round...

If someone on my list burns 800 calories, I am going to comment on them having a great burn. That's like 17 oreos.

I used to follow him closely - and in my honest opinion he has just gotten too weird for me. I agree he is very interesting, but there are so many good fitness Youtube channels out there now, I just don't find myself checking his out anymore.

Well first off - you don't have to eat breakfast first thing in morning. I usually wait until about noon, that way I have more calories for the afternoon and evening. Totally personal preference. For me I like to start day with scrambled eggs (with veggies - spinach, onion and peppers) and some sort of protein (bacon,…

While not a bar per se, Ostrim has meat snacks that are high protein, low carb/calorie. Thing is they are a bit "out of the box" in terms of ingredients - they are either beef and ostrich, or beef and elk. The jerky has 10g of protein, 2g carbs and 60 cals The meat sticks are 14g of protein, 2g of carbs and 80 (to 90) cals

Yeah I knew you didn't mean you did - and I guess the cleaning thing wouldn't bother me if they were still losing weight. If they complained about a plateau then maybe I'd understand.

I can't fathom why anyone would delete for either of those reasons.

So the children who ingested calories were less hungry than the ones who didn't? That doesn't seem very conclusive. If anything that shows that normal pop is more satiating than diet. Not that diet makes you "hungrier". EDIT: Do you have a link to that study available? Would be interested in seeing the methodology,

Well the lack of stickied posts on "more important" topics has no bearing on this post, it simply shows that more posts may need to be stickied. Plus people post multiple threads about diet soda on the forums everyday full of misinformation and fear mongering. I think stickiy-ing this thread can help clear up the forums…

To be fair to that poster, most of my Facebook friends are indeed my real life friends. But I guess some people just add anyone on there.

  My brother hasn't logged in in 2 months, longest on my list - this makes me feel better about deleting him.

Caffeine in 16oz of coke zero: 43mg Safe amount of caffeine for most healthy adults: 400mg (id argue it is even more but can't find the study I read about it) There are also a wide range of potential benefits from moderate caffeine consumption (including it being potentially beneficial for depression, prostate cancer…

I was a person that never deleted anyone at one time, but now I delete people who don't interact with me. I would rather have a slightly smaller list of people who I engage and connect with.

From my experience - people should focus on getting happier before (or during) losing weight. Ninerbuff is right, weight loss does not necessarily help you be happier. But I feel very strongly that getting happier will help your weight loss.

Why would it be inappropriate? The topic is brought up ad nauseam on the forums - isn't it a good idea to sticky a post that clearly breaks down the actual science about aspartame instead of people posting fear mongering blog post after blog post? MFP is a calorie counting site, I don't see how sticky-ing a logical blog…

The biggest help for me losing weight is realizing I don't have to choose between calories and nutrition. I can stay under my calories, "care about my insides", hit my macronutrient needs, hit my micronutrient needs (quite easily in fact) all while enjoying a balance of whole foods, processed foods, "evil" chemicals and…

If you don't watch American Football, why just not ignore the thread? Believe it or not - different areas of the world, call different things by different names. Shocking...I know.

I'd say increased caloric intake has more to do with obesity than a perceived sedentary lifestyle (or genetics) Here is a great paper on it: http://ajcn.nutrition.org/content/early/2009/10/14/ajcn.2009.28595.full.pdf Interesting notes... Estimated intake for children: 1970s: 1690cals/day 2000s: 2043cals/day Esitmated…

Yeah if it isn't percentage based it seems like a useless list... If you look up the top ten most populous countries the list isn't far different...

Pretty early, but I am game, at the very least I can come back and laugh at myself when my predictions aren't close to happening...
