  • Oh....the last one I forgot. Take boneless/skinless chicken breasts (1 per 2 people). Cut into small squares. Cook in pan with a little oil (or stock) until cooked through, remove and put in a bowl. add some more oil and turn up heat and throw a bag of frozen broccoli into the pan until cooked. Turn off heat. Add chicken.…
  • Bonus on cooking the whole chicken: you can use leftovers in other dishes and once the carcass has been picked through of whats going to be eaten....throw it back into a crock pot with some veggies you aren't going to use before they go bad (I keep keep greens which you wouldnt eat in the freezer for this purpose) and put…
  • -Roll up foil balls...put in bottom of crock pot. Put whole chicken on foil balls. Liberally apply salt, pepper, paprika. Low for 5 hours, heat up frozen veg and rice if you want. -Put 4 chicken breasts in crock pot. Pour in 2 cans broth and 2 cans cream of chicken (we do homemade varieties of both for less salt, you can…
  • I agree with others. With no snarkiness or intentional rudeness, you need to kick yourself in the butt and stop giving up. Remember why you were trying to lose weight/get in shape and stick to it. One bad day or bad week isn't the end. Don't worry about thanksgiving, worry about 12/20 and tomorrow you can worry about…
  • I dont think anyone can gauge how high risk you are for an eating disorder. -The fact that you seem to have anxiety over weight gain is a red flag -The fact that you are tempted to crash diet to lose weight is a red flag -The fact that you actively restrict your food to very little from weight gain is a red flag -The fact…

  • I'm sorry about your loss. We are also going to be trying this year (getting married march 28, going to try after the wedding) for baby #2. I have been trying to lose the last 5-8lbs that I never lost from baby #1 (had him July 2013), and a lot of people ask why I am trying to lose weight if I'm just going to get pregnant.…
  • I wanted to get into it, I heard it was a great full body workout that was fun....the studio in my area charges A LOT so I never went (It was like $30 a class)
  • I've heard that as well that he is a very good surgeon. It's just hard to take him seriously anymore and I think that is why he wants to do this show, to show people that he actually is competent and a real doctor.
  • he has a new show premiering on discovery fit & health called Surgeon Oz, and it's all about these life threatening surgeries he's completing and people who he's saved. If it were anyone else I would take is seriously...but it screams "For realz I'm a real doctor!" to me
  • People will always disagree but I do believe two things. One is that if you eat a varied diet that you don't need them and, two there are many people that don't eat a varied enough diet. When I know I am eating well and eating lots of varied produce/animal products I don't worry about it. When I am getting into a rut where…
  • I bake chicken breasts with salsa covering them for an added kick. We also do "chinese chicken" which is a raw chicken breast cut into small pieces. I sautee it in chicken stock and once nearly cooked through I add a bag of frozen broccoli. Once completed we serve over a little bit of rice with chinese sauce sold by our…
  • I'll add you. getting married 3/28! I bring my dress to the seamstress for alterations, repairs, etc in Jan.....and added stress, my bridesmaid was thoughtful enough to let me know she got me a wedding gift....I am getting boudoir photography done on 1/27!
  • Hmmm I didnt mean it to post that way ^^
  • I don't know how often I go that low now, I haven't worked in the office for about a year. I had an eating disorder for over 10 years, so I always thought that I felt crappy because I wasn't eating or making myself sick. Then I was noticing it was still happening even when I was recovered. For the most part dietary changes…
  • I don't at home. I used to check it at work as a family practice nurse. That's where they caught it. I've had labs done, I'm not diabetic, just can get low sugar sometimes (as low as 57...usually when I feel crappy It would be low to mid 60s). I do like the pp suggestion of having some gatorade for a sugar kick during.…
  • I didn't count it, but I did feel it and it was pretty fast. I am not in very good CV shape yet haha. I didn't think about trying gatorade during. That is a good idea
  • I'll keep an eye on it, that would[ be the easiest solution. There is a good chance I am just being over-paranoid. I'm prone to low-sugar episodes and migraines so I am probably just psyching myself out.
  • MFP has me at a goal of about 1380. I usually eat closer to about 1700-1800 and my breakdown is usually about 50% carbs, 25-30% fat/protein (it will alternate depending on what I ate that day)
  • daily colace (stool softener) or you could try miralax
  • I've found when I have done strenuous workouts or started a new routine around 2-3 weeks I feel like I've lost nothing, and then 1-2 weeks later I start seeing progress at a faster rate
  • What's it supposed to do? In the nursing home when people are constipated we give them hot coffee or warm juice with butter. I feel like combining the two could be bad
  • It sounds like you were over-hungry by your next meal. Add a between meal snack with protein and some water. Tomorrow is a new day, live and learn. Don't give up
  • I occasionally will weigh daily, but it messes with me and if I am having a bad day mentally it can trigger past issues (recovered bulimic) so I tend to weigh myself maybe 1-2x a week. If I go too long without weighing myself I seem to get very flippant about eating/working out and I tend to overeat and undermove and put…
  • I agree that you should be working with a medical team. In a perfect world (and if you could afford it) you would be working with a doctor, a therapist and a nutritionist. You need a MD to help set medical goals and monitor progress (what is a healthy weight/blood levels), you need a nutritionist to help set up a meal plan…
  • Coming from a recovering bulimic: skipping meals after a binge was personally one of the worse pitfalls I would fall into over and over and over. It was an endless swirling of over overindulging, restricting, being tempted, resisting temptation for a little bit and when I splurged continuing the "all or nothing" mentality…
  • Ever since I was pregnant/had my son I can't do jumping exercises (ah the joys) but no I can't see how they would prevent pregnancy, esp if your doctor gave you the okay!
