  • Thanks so much! Great thread for tips also.
  • Honsetly, I am going to set the tone for my 2013 self! I will be on the treadmill, running/jogging/walking when the ball drops.
  • I agree that you shouldn't make him use a scale. I understand that he is a bit older and he understands more than my daughter would. He wouldn't see the scale as fun at all. I am very sorry that you were made to feel that way at 10 years old. I cannot fathom making my daughter feel that way. That is why we never mention…
  • "Does he like using the scale? My daughter does. She thinks it's "fun" (I beg to differ). But I keep my eye on her that way and when she asks if she can use the scale, I make sure I am there to see the number. She honestly doesn't even know what the number means but just likes to see it come up in the big blue window and…
  • I do roast my veggies. But I also steam and boil them. With each, I cook between 5 and 7 minutes to really just warm them up and get them seasoned but still maintain my crunch and most of the nutrients. However, I am just like you, I don't care too much for vegetables and as long as I eat some with two meals a day (that's…
  • I personally do suffer that unfortunately. If I work out pass 6:00 PM, I will be energized to about 12:00 AM. I learned this when I initially began my workouts. I have to exercise in the morning or mid-afternoon. Plus, I learned that working out in the morning gives me loads of energy that I didn't use to have. So, I love…
  • My daughter is 8 years old. When I won custody of her (she is my step-daughter) she was 5 years old, weighing in at 79 pounds. WOW....is what I initially thought. The problem wasn't as clear to me when I only saw her on weekends. She moved in with me and my husband in September of 2009. We took her to the doctor that same…
  • I gain weight eating 1700 calories a day. 1500-1600 net seems to have me losing about 1.5-2.0 pounds per week. But I am only 5'1 1/2" so that might have something to do with it. I also exercise 3 to 5 days a week, sometimes 6 days.
  • Thanks! Will check them out.
  • That's a great idea! Problem is that A.) I have no idea on how to measure and what to measure with (measuring tape?) and B.) I'm at my desk right now trying to measure coffee creamer and it's not working out too well. Not that good with math or science so can someone give me some tips on how you measure. I'll put mine up.
  • Great job! I can clearly see the difference. Keep up the good work.
  • LOL....me too. I haven't started yet but the last time, I constantly screamed at the television calling Jillian all types of names while my husband looked at me in amazement. It was crazy!

  • I am using three pound weights.
  • I will rest on Saturdays and do light cardio for that day. For everyone not resting, how do you work through the pain? I could barely walk after quitting the last time.
  • I will have a rest day as well. It will most likely be Saturday. I will pick up light cardio for that day.
  • I am ready. I too am a little scared because of all the pain I was in last time around, but I am doing it with the thought that exercising going into 2013 will set the tone for the rest of the year. Are you planning any rest days or are you doing it full throttle?
  • I don't see why not! Welcome!

  • You look really good. Job well done!
  • I eat anything sweet and I'm guaranteed to meet my goal if not go over at that point.
  • I pee 1,000 times a day, it feels like. I swear as soon as I drink one 8 ounce cup, I am running to the restroom. I have a desk job too and I highly doubt they'd say something about you needing to pee excessively. I don't notice or even care about what the rest of my coworkers are doing when they leave their desks and pay…
  • I honestly eat when my body tells me to. Oftentimes, I eat my burned calories back and some days I eat none of them back. I work out at night and I am not hungry after eating 1600 calories throughout the day. If I burn 200 calories at 9:30 P.M. and I am not hungry but am still over 1300 calories, I do not care about eating…
  • Hi Everybody. I am Elle. I am 5'2" and I weigh between 235-239. This will be my third time attempting to complete the 30DS. The first time was back in 2010 and I completed all 30 days, but I also only weighed about 165 at that time. I saw great results. I tried to do it again at the beginning of December and boy did it…

  • Yes, it has 3 levels and you are supposed to do each level for ten days. I don't know if you'd get the same exact results doing level 1 for 30 whole days as your body might become familiar with it and stop responding as well as if you switch it up after 10 days on each level. But if you felt like you want to master each…
  • It was very tough for me too even when I initially did the workout but you can do it! It gets easier every day it's attempted.
  • I'm in! I did the 30 DS back in 2010 and completed each level for the entire 30 days. I loved it. I was in a little better shape than now where I attempted to do it earlier this month and was so sore after day 3 that I didn't stick with it and went back to the gym instead.
  • This! I work it into my daily calories and have not had a problem with losing weight. But I tend to only drink water all day long and that one glass of wine will not hurt me.
  • I do eat these rarely for lunch at work if I absolutely have to. But they have a lot of sodium in the meals and I try to keep my sodium intake low. So, I only eat a frozen meal once or twice a month if work is very busy. I haven't had problems losing weight so far.
