Sounds tough, my friend. As others have said, you have done this before and you can do it again. My darling wife is in much the same boat. Shortly before we met, she lost a ton of weight. In the past 16 years, she has put most of it back on. She's constantly on and off. Now I have been on a good track for almost a year,…

Be patient and do the right thng. Here's my story: At 6'2", I weighed 303 or so--I was pretty big. My wife noticed I was losing after about 10 lbs. I didn't notice until I had lost 20 lbs. Some of the ladies at work started noticing after about 40-45 lbs. The folks I work with closely (all guys, mind you--not that I want…

You would really need to go to Louisianna to get the right kind of andouille. I agree with other posters who say there's no real substitute. However, we usually use smoked turkey kielbasa when we can't get the real thing. I suggest you look for something that's not name-brand. They tend to be smokier and have more flavor.…

I had a hard time really learning to read. In third grade, I picked up "Squanto, Friend of the Pilgrims", and I was hooked. Now, reading is my favorite passtime. Some of the great books I've read are The Old Man and the Sea - Hemingway The Good Earth - Pearl S. Buck Lonesome Dove - Larry McMurtry Night - Elie Wiesel The…

The smile on your face in the picture with Tim says it all. Congratulations to both of you.

Pickled Sea Cucumber. It tastes sorta like something you found on the beach and put in the trunk of a car parked outside in the hot summer sun for a week. Sorta.

Remember that whatever you will eat will be very salty. Expect to have some water weight from the excess salt for a few days. Drink plenty of water for the couple of days afterwards to help flush it out. As others have said, bank some calories beforehand. If you're like me, MFP is a lifestyle change and I mean to maintain…

I'm with you, my friend. I started at 303 last Thanksgiving (how smart is that, to start MFP at Thanksgiving). I stuck with it through the holidays and into the new year, and it is paying off. So far, I have lost 45 pounds or so. I set my goal at 2 pounds per week. Some weeks I lose 2.5 pounds, other weeks I lose 0.2…

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm still having fun....

Mostly, I just want to be able to chase my kids around. Oh, and go hiking and canoeing and just running around in general.

Congratulations. It truly is cause to celebrate. Enjoy your day, and every day.

How will the information be used? Can it be used for hiring/firing or promotions? Can they use the information to compel other behaviors? What happens when the company determines that employees (especially women) who are in their child-bearing years are an extra expense? Should they be compelled to plan pregnancies at the…

I echo the idea of looking into new sneakers. Depending on where you live, you should be able to find a running supply store (Fleet Feet, Phidipides) that will have knowledgeable staff who can help you out. You may also want to try a local running club for advice. Best of luck!
