Newbie here. Just in case anyone is interested here is a but of my back story: I lost 40 of the 80 lbs I was hoping to lose about a year and a half ago. Since then I haven't been very motivated or inspired to continue. About a month ago I started to feel my drive return and this past week committed to giving it a try…

I felt the same way but the plateau went on and on. I had to try something.

I upped for 6 weeks. I read a number of posts on here from people who did this and it worked for them too. I ate at maintenance, mostly filled up on almonds when I wasn't hungry.

I'm 5'10" and was eating around 1800 and losing slowly until about 2 months ago. I hit a plateau and upped my cals to 2100 in hopes of reigniting my metabolism. I changed back to 1800 last week and lost 5 lbs in a week (also TOM). Feeling back on track and hoping that I won't hit a plateau again anytime soon. If I do I…

I upped my calories for 5 weeks by 300+, then dropped back down to 1800 and lost 6lbs in a week. I was skeptical, but it worked for me.

4 months. It has been much slower since I got to 40 lost.

Yes! But due to stress, not lack of movement.

I am 5'10" with a SW of 240 and a CW of 197. I have a pretty active lifestyle both at work and in my free time. I currently have my cals set to 2100 and do not log exercise. I have been doing 2 cross fit sessions, 3 runs, 1 swim, and weight lifting throughout the week but I do not log any of my exercise. I just recently…

I have certain activities and exercising that I consider part of my "active" lifestyle (I'm not sedentary). Therefore I only log and eat back activities beyond what I plan to do. Currently I doing 30ds 3x per week, couch 25k 2x per week and lifting 3x per week. I consider all of these part of my lifestyle. Anything beyond…

I've gone from grande salted Carmel mochas to fat free lattes over the course of the last year. Every once in a while I will order some type of mocha (like once every 4 months when I'm out with friends) but the last one I had was so sweet I may be over it! I also order the oatmeal with blueberries when I'm traveling for…

No candy for Easter, just delicious brunch with bottomless mimosas :)

Lost 43lbs and went from 18 to a 12, so 3. Getting close to a 10!

I didn't tell anyone but most figured it out and said so by 20 lbs gone. The only person who never said anything was my mom and I actually called he out tonight. She made excuses as to why she didn't say anything but I'm still a little pissed. She had plenty to say when I was fat, would be nice to hear something after…

Great job to the op! I hope this is right. I had been hovering around 200 for almost 6 months but I feel like now I am slowly moving away. Hope the next 40 are no where near that difficult!

Only one of my family members (dad) acknowledged that I lost weight and that was after I brought it up. I think they must feel awkward. At first I thought it might not be noticeable but lately I've had a few experiences that lead me to believe that is not the case. This past week I saw one of my old employees who I hadn't…

They probably just don't know what to say. My own mom has said nothing and it is quite annoying.

This would be the most amazing change I could hope for! I wear a 13 women's but my feet are very narrow so I doubt my size will change. I get hit on more, not a bad thing at all!

Buying a new belt is also such a great feeling! Congrats on your victory!

I'm confused. Everyday in the past week you have been a few hundred calories below your daily budget. One of the days you were 700 below! So knowing that over the course of the week you were a few thousand calories below your budget, why not have a dessert? I agree with others and it looks as though you are not eating…

I had a friend just like you in high school. Once we saw what the yo yo was doing to her body those of us who were overweight were scared of making her mistake. As far as I know she is morbidly obese now. Everyone's battle is so unique, but we could all use patience!

This came at the perfect time for me. Just started lifting two days ago and stepped on the scale this morning and was up a pound. Slightly disheartened as I am so sore, but this could explain it. Thanks!

Number 1. I have excelled in many things in my life. This has never been one of them. Time for that to change!

Did not completely cut out anything, just eat much less. Tracking has been the key to my success. I eat much less of the following: Soda (went from everyday to probably every other day, sometimes less) Dessert Fast food (have not had in many many months) Bread Dairy Fancy coffee Juice and sugary beverages It is shocking…

I would like to lose 10lbs during this challenge. I am originally from upstate ny. My favorite color is green. My favorite season is fall. My favorite tv show currently is mad men. My favorite book is the giver. My favorite hobby is anything outdoors. I would go to the Azores if I could go anywhere. I have traveled quite a…

I am looking to lose 10 lbs plus anything I gained on vacation. I get home on Wednesday and will be starting then. Good luck to everyone!

I lost 20lbs in the first two months but I was more overweight than you are (went from 240 to 220). Just changed my diet and exercised as much as I could. I would suggest maybe shooting for 15lbs only because you already lost a few. Work hard and I am sure you will see results! Don't use shortcuts like not eating as it an…

I don't agree with the organic vegetables always look perfect. Some of the most delicious apples I have ever eaten are organic and absolutely hideous. We joke about it, but they are really awful looking.

Once a week officially. Twice a week just to keep track of progress. I am on vacation right now and it has been 10 days sine I weighed myself. This is the longest I've gone in a year and it is a little challenging!

Lose an average of 1 pound a week would put me past my gw within 2013. Reach a healthy bmi for the first time in my adult life. Wear a single digit size! (Currently a 12 down from a 16/18) Head back to the gym but this time focusing on lifting with some elliptical thrown in here and there. Run for 30 min twice a week. Go…
