  • I had oatmeal this morning. You can check my diary to get exact nutritional information. It was GREAT! I had rolled oats with 1% milk, mixed berries, sugar free maple syrup and walnuts.
  • I eat 4-6 times a day. I eat 1,200 calories plus my exercise calories. I prefer smaller meals, but I do sometimes switch it up. 1. Breakfast 7-8 am 2. Morning Snack 10 am 3. Lunch 12-1pm 4. Afternoon Snack 3-4pm 5. Dinner 5-7 pm 6. Post Workout Shake (if I need the calories and/or I'm hungry after a hard workout)
  • I WISH I knew!!!! My husband is off work today and he said he'd make dinner. He mentioned cheese steak sandwiches. :noway: I told him, you make whatever you'd like, but please lay things out in a way that allows me to prepare my meal in portions. We'll see how it goes tonight............. He's very…
  • That is great news! Thanks for sharing and congrats on your hard work! A wonderful way to start the week

  • Well I'd say sushi is your best bet. I LOVE Chinese food. I can always stay under my calorie goal, HOWEVER it blows my sodium through the roof and I don't like that. :grumble: When I go, I get this: 1 Cup of Won Ton Soup 1 Spring Roll (not the regular egg roll, the spring one  ) A few pieces of sushi Then I treat…
  • There are so many topics on here that discuss your question. I'm sure you will get a variety of responses. . . Here's what I do and it works for me: We have similar stats, so I figured I should share  I'm a 31 female with a desk job. I workout 4-6 days a week. I am too on a 1200 calories per day allotment. I eat…
  • Yeah, I think it definitely depends on the person. Whether one is better or the other, it can't really matter that much in my opinion. It's more about what works best for the person, their schedule, etc. Personally, I am NOT a morning person. So it is about impossible for me to get up early before work. I workout…
  • I LOVE both of these. However, from what I've read... couscous is more of a "pasta" and quinoa is whole grain-like, which makes it healthier for you - as it has more vitamins and minerals. I'll still eat both, BUT more quinoa for sure!
  • I just sent a request. I love the support system on MFP! It makes such a difference for me. Welcome back!
  • I weigh myself every Wednesday morning. Sometimes I weigh myself on Saturday mornings too. Depends on what my exercise and food routine looks like. I like to sneak a peek now and then to see how it fluctuates. But for weighing in just 1-2 days a week. That's enough for me.
  • Thanks for sharing - I'll have to check this out!
  • Great job! Keep it up - what a great accomplishment!

  • That brings up the question......... anyone ever tried making a peanut butter and jelly shake? mmmmmm.... sounds good I think?
  • I love sweets too and chocolate. What I keep on hand are the Ghirardelli chocolate individually wrapped squares. I only have one at a time, but a serving is 4. Also after workouts, I've been really enjoying homemade protein shakes. I use the chocolate soy milk (no sugar added) and I feel like I'm doing my muscles good and…
  • There are a lot of GREAT responses on here. I'll just put in my thoughts..... My husband goes on and off with the workout and watching food thing. What I've noticed is that the more I get into and see results and have the motivation, the more he does it. If I stop, he stops. He totally gets on board when he sees me…
  • No way in heck here. :noway: I don't think hardly any of my fellow employees routinely work out. Everyone eats junk for lunch and comments on my 5 small healthy meals a day. People bring in cupcakes, breads, donuts, homemade high cal stuff to share. The employer itself has no incentives or encouragement whatsoever. It's…
  • I do either Diet Tonic and Gin with Lime or a Coors Light. I love many others, but these are my low-cal drinks.

  • Good thread.... I started the protein shakes at night after workouts this week. I love it! It's my sixth meal and I always have room for them in my calorie goal. And I feel like I'm taking care of my body after a workout. I'm not burnt out on them yet, lol. The puddings are a great suggestion - thanks!
  • Right, I worded that wrong. Not only have I "earned" more calories, but I've earned more carbs also. It's like I didn't have all of the ones I had that day. Boy, maybe all this being healthy is messing with me head! HA! Thanks for your help!!
  • I just had corn tortillas last night for dinner! They are my new favorite item. I don't even use any kind of regular burrito or tortilla wrap anymore, just these. Last night I made 10 mini "tacos" and it was great for leftovers and to portion out the recipe. This is a fabulous way to use them! Thank you so much!…
  • 8 cups - 12 cups Daily :drinker:
  • wow! totally awesome - you have done so much work and put in the time and dedication. amazing work!
  • Some actors/actresses doing stage/Broadway work. My parents would let me stand outside and wait for them so I could get their autograph. Ralph Macchio, Cloris Leachman, Faye Dunaway Cyndi Lauper - she was at a "cassette tape" signing. YES, cassette tapes!!! LOL. She was freakin' awesome! Oh, and V.P. Joe Biden (what an…
  • I've felt like this before, especially if it's right before I get a cold or sinus infection. I just usually go to my "go-to" snack.. peanut butter on something, anything. I love peanut butter so much that even if I don't know what to eat, I eat that. I put it on an english muffin, toast, waffle or banana. And now that I'm…
  • Sesame Ginger Pork Patties with Grilled Pineapple: recipe from Eatingwell.com (This is a new one for me folks!) Stir-Fry Veggies Quinoa This is a new mix. Hope the hubby is cool with it. Well, he better be - he has no choice!
