A series of things: It started I guess with some injuries (broken foot bones from two seperate accidents - go figure) that had me in a boot or restricted movement for about a year. After not moving much for a year, I was deconditioned, and didn't really want to move. Then I had a tragic death in my family and that put me…

I agree with the consensus: if you are counting calories - then count them. I did WW as well, and loved that fruits and veggies were "free." However, this i snot the point system, where those variations are taken into account. I am trying for a balanced diet - not SO many fruits and enough veggies. MFP helps me do this…

Medium popcorn (no extra butter) and a sparkling water (if they don't have that a diet soda - yuck, I know, but I only drink a few per YEAR - so...) I also try top eat the popcorm silently! :) Its my own game. I do not go to the movies so frequently that this splurge is a problem.

Lots of really informed opinions here. I would add that eating every 2 -3 hours has helped me a LOT. but, since the devil is in the details, and we can't see the details, why don't you visit a RD for one visit? Get some real professional advice.

Hummus is q very good option for me. I also do a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of non fat Greek yogurt and non fat cottage cheese, which I blend with my immersion blender until it is a very smooth consistency. this is the basis of a creamy topping or dip - you need to add whatever flavor you prefer...it is a bit tart, but bland.…

YOu look fabulous! YOur shoulders make your waist seem teensy. don't worry about losing anything ---just maintain and keep working out - things will change.
-
My experience is that maintaining is MUCH harder than losing (which is hard enough). IMHO 120 is MUCH too low for a woman of your height. Here my thought: as you reach 200 - hold on for a few weeks; then down to 175; hold it; 150 hold it. when we continue to work out and eat slim our body composition changes - even after…

1. Breasts are mammary gland tissue and fat in a skin envelop OVER the pec muscles. 2. As you lose weight, the fat in your breasts might shrink, since you don't get to decide where you lose fat from. 3. Building and firming the underlying muscle can help, but it doesn't change the breast itself. 4. Bouncing around without…

I have two answers: 1. Nothing - because life has all kinds of challenging days and portion control is, in most ways, the most effective tool. However, 2, Desserts, alcohol, sodas, beef, chocolate.

I am not sure a woman over 60 can wear sleeveless and look really good. I am 68 tomorrow and so I say this as a "sister." However, weight continues to redistribute as we hit goal and maintain. Especially since you are now working arms with weights, I'm sure you will see an improvement; maybe just not what you envision.…

Don't give up! You will lose respect for yourself, and that is part of what we are atter...right? I do think you are over stressing the number. with all the exercise you do and your youth I'll bet 155 looks pretty good! Self love and acceptance also makes a woman "look good." Being happy with your self. A few tips: PACK…

Two pounds in one week? That is about maximum to keep your health. You can't do that for long. If I lose 1/2 pound in a week and keep it off, I'm very happy. I didn't notice if you had a lot of weight to lose - if so, then you can lose more and more quickly. And if you are young. 1600 sounds like a LOT from my 1200…

5"31/2". Strated in January 150. Now 145. (that's THREE MONTHS, people!) Goal 135 and keep it off. Final goal 125. I am 67 years old, had been about 115 - 123 most of my pre-menopausal life. I have tiny bones and I really think that counts, although I don't hear people talking about that much. I think the mirror is truly…

Wow! aMAZing story! thank you for sharing it. Could you tell me what all the acronyms are for?

GIRL!

I also like Jay Robb's. Expensive, but if I can't drink it, it's no cost savings! However, mostly i have to eat actual food. but once in a while I use it.
-
Whole Foods is SO expensive! I use Trader Joe's for tons of stuff: raw veggies for snacks - plus hummus. I also like the egg white salad for a good protein low cal snack or even breakfast. they also have Pure Protein drinks - again, good for a punch of protein for low cals and carbs. You said you have a fridge but no…

I think we have the problem. I am tracking, moving, drinking H2O - and have lost 4 pounds in about 5 weeks. UG! I have 15 more to go.
-
I will say, I have tiny "snack bags" that I portion out almonds. It does take sometime; but it solves the "portion" problem.
-
VERY inspiring, thank you. I am curious about the web site that 'showed' you what your fit body might look like.

Sounds like something I need to do. I have had quite good control right now, but the binge-devil is ever lurking! :) I would love to hear what you (anyone) considers a binge. I cannot eat unconsciously. Pre-planning has proven the KEY!! My worst time is after dinner, watching the tube. I can OCCASIONALLY have one bite of a…

I agree. If stretch marks were the worst thing about a person...I mean, would you love a person who CARED about stretch marks? Not me!
-
Fabulous story! You look great and did it in such a human and smart way.

Thank you so much! This was incredibly helpful. Some tips I knew and was using, some I will add. I completely agree that pre-portioned snacks and everything, really in the fridge ready to go and an insulated "feed bag" has been the greatest help. Like you, I can tolerate sameness in my menu. Thanks again.

Also a former WW. I like this better - not only free but somehow more honest. Right now I strive to keep within Kcals. I am not able to do meaningful exercise...knee & foot problems; that will pass. I will try "saving" my exercise for a splurge - as soon as I can exercise.
-
Track. Keeps you honest.
-
I'm not sure this would help, but I keep 200 Kcal packs of almonds at work, as well turkey jerky. I can take two hard boiled eggs, and string cheese, if I have a fridge. This type of dense food keeps my hunger at bay. An apple with 2 TBS of peanut butter also helps. These are more in the range of healthy snacks, but have…

I get mine at TJMaxx - good stuff discount price. I need two shirts for every pair of pants. I only want to do this laundry once per week. I need t-shirt, pants, ans sh

Well, I am in my 60's. Having been slender all my life except after menopause, I am doing this to be in better health, better shape, and into my skinnies! I think it is never too late to take charge of your health. and being healthier usually makes people look better- not only less fat,but less flabby and more toned. better…

Also - because I have conquered so many things in my life, done so many things I never thought I could do and I am having a real hard time believing I cannot control the bulge. so - health is number 1 Vanity Various = number 2 and pure bulldog obstinace must be number 3.
