well there is some truth to that. About 2 hours from when you wake up cortisol levels are at their highest, which within that 2 hours is the perfect time for LISS cardio. Ingest anything with enough calories, and you will kill your cortisol levels with an insulin spike.

Eating more is not to lose weight. It's to supply you're body with abundant nutrients so it can repair and function at optimal efficiency while you are maintaining a calorie deficit and drop weight.

protein shakes, particularly whey isolates or most of them with whey have far greater amino acid profiles then any meats you can find. Meaning they will absorb a lot faster into your system and your body will be able to utilize more protein per gram ingested.

I find that if someone wants to workout with me, they like to talk, they're not as motivated and aggressive towards training as I am. Hence I like to stick my headphones in and stare in the mirror.

you're body can only store so much water and glycogen. That is limited by how much muscle you have. Only reason I could think of why you would need to eat that many carbs would be to put on body fat, but you're doing a walk, not swimming the english channel.

What did you eat? did you eat more carbs? salt? did you drink more water? 1 gal of water = 8 lbs, not all of it is going to be flushed out of your system, keep that in mind.
