Perfect...low impact. One of my close girlfriends did the spin class with running and loved it. she ended up doing a dual-atholon! Congrats! You are going to do great!

I did c25k and then went on to train independently for a 10k that I completed last weekend! I would suggest adding yoga or pilates to your routine instead of more running. It kept me injury free and built up my stamina quickly. I never had any problems. I did bikram yoga 2x a week with the running.

I have fairly bad insomnia and it definitely affects my ability to lose weight. Exercise is my key to sleeping better--other than that I just try to chill and read when I can't sleep.

Pureed Cauliflower and garlic with Parmesan (taste like mashed potatoes--half the calories and carbs) Steamed Asparagus with salt and pepper Seared Tuna steak One of my favorite healthy meals!

Woohoo! How awesome are you!!!

100 pounds is very inspiring!

Live and learn...not your fault this time but next time you will know better. Literally "sweat it" off...a little bit more exercise today?

Good job, feels great, huh!

I am happy for you too!

Yep. I am totally motivated by some pants I wore 5 years ago! I try them on to see how many inches I've come and how many I have to go. I am half-way there!

Fantastic work!

Yes I work on a weekly basis as well. But I am ok with very slow loss. I am a "lifestyler" not a dieter.

Im not saying you won't lose (quite the contrary) weight but I would venture to say that most people feel worse if they are substituting coffee for water when they work out. Look if it made me feel great I would do it every day. But it just doesn't.

I recommend yoga--if you are in pain--start with restorative yoga and work yourself up to different types of yoga. If it is just mild pain and not a major injury you could probably start with most any yoga practice that you find interesting.

Yes I find if I don't drink for a few weeks at a time I will drop off a couple of pounds quicker...then I go back to the slow loss that includes a few drinks with friends on the weekend. And Mardi Gras is coming up so I am going to have to exercise like a madwoman to lose!

For all you saying coffee=water-- Drink 32-40oz of coffee to hydrate during the day and then go do your Bikram yoga or heavy cardiovascular workout routine and only drink coffee as you would water during your workout and then tell me that coffee is the same as water....really...heeheee. Coffee consumption does not equal…

Good luck to you! I know from experience (being from NOLA we love our drinking every day and every night) that it is difficult but possible to put the exercise and diet before the drinking. I won't lie--I still drink and could lose quicker if I swore it off, but this is more realistic for me and I am seeing results.

Cottage cheese and hummus...so easy and delicious. Also... About once a month I make a pot of chicken soup with spinach, carrots, mushrooms, onion, celery and garlic on Sunday night. Then I portion it out and eat if most of the week...my husband usually gets a hold of it so it lasts until Thursday!

Brilliant!

I buy expensive chocolate bars with high cacao content. I keep in the fridge and just break off a piece or two when I need it.

Also it may be time to start teaching your son to ride a bike! You guys could ride bikes together it would be so fun. I loved doing that as a child with my parents. Who knows someday you guys could even do a trail ride vacation or race together. Best of luck to you. Proud of you for not giving up.

Don't you think as your relationship progresses it will be part of a normal "get to know you" conversation. I personally don't think you should mention it until it comes up organically and it will sooner than later...best of luck and its nice having an athletic partner...more things to do in common.

Low-fat cauliflower puree (instead of mashed potatoes) Roasted veggies Steamed Veggies Corn and black bean salsa with tomato and avacados Chicken noodles soup with mushrooms, spinach, celery, onion and carrots... Oh how I love cooked vegetables!

I know the feeling...I am down a size. I feel better and I look better (to me). But my scale refuses to budge. I do have some off days but I exercise 5-6 days a week. I feel like I will have to starve to get the scales to move another 10 lbs!

I agree with a mix of both posters as I used to wait tables, bartend, work retail etc... This type of work definitely makes a difference. So set your MFP to lightly active (or you will starve) and then only log real workouts and heavy cleaning, yard work etc...(cooking and shopping don't count if they are burning calories…

I guess until you try the exercise and eating mindfully...you really don't know what your body wants. I believe that if you give the exercise and eating a true chance (at least 6 months) and it still feels forced and miserable then maybe yes, it is not worth it to be skinny and its best to just have a change of attitude…

I am a big fan of Bikram yoga (very hot for 90 mins) and my son started with me when he was a teenager. For you and your young daughter perhaps the The Barkan Method DVD would be good. As far as doing a single video over and over...well I really believe that is the appropriate way to do yoga--over and over again to create…

Don't get discouraged by some of these replies. Especially if you are doing your best. You need to do as the last poster said--start adding veggies and fruit and lean protein in your diet, get a George Foreman, and definitely start reading about nutrition. It will make your eating choices so much easier when you eat out.…
