P.S.-and I exercise.

I totally agree with what has been said so far. I'm 54, and the age I'm at I think makes it more difficult. But, I have found that you must eat to lose. The calorie per day as recommended by the site. It works! Good luck-Chris.

 I'm in MI. , too. I've definitely had ENOUGH! Spring time, I wish you were here!
-
Something I do to fool myself-take a 6oz. (60 cal.) container of Dannon Light & Fit yogurt, stick it in the freezer until almost frozen. It's just like ice cream, and yummy!
-
Go Tigers! I'm from MI., but I watch the Red Sox, too.
-
I know what they are. My son was a pitcher. Good luck! Chris

Like you said-your goal is to be healthier. It is a total lifestyle change, and it has to be FOREVER! We, in the group of people with weight problems, have to face facts. It's taken me 5 years to reach my current weight. And I still have 48 pounds to go. But, I feel great. Much healthier, in many ways. I will never go…

Good luck to you! Motivation is a really big key. A wedding in the near future is a great reason to keep that motivation alive. It's a good site for keeping track of everything. Here's to all of us trying to be healthier! Chris.

This is a great site for keeping track of your diet. Welcome to a new lifestyle! It works, for sure. I have improved my health, frame of mind, and am happier because I feel better. Be kind to yourself and take care of YOU! Chris.:flowerforyou:

Aerobics with a guy named Gilad on Discovery health is what I've become hooked on. He works with weights and resistance bands, too.Good luck-Chris.
-
On Dicovery Health cable station, I watched a program with Dr. Oz. He says anything with "hydrogenated" in it should be avoided totally. BAD,BAD,BAD for your health. That and anything enriched. That eliminates alot of different foods, mostly packaged. Chris.
-
Good job! I found some good resistance bands at WalMart for about 7$. I love them and use them about 4 times a week in strength training. Chris.

:flowerforyou: I wouldn't offer much more advice than you've already read accept for this-dieting IS tuff. I have a hard time , too. Try to have a positive additude, eat healthy, exercise. You will achieve your goal. This is a great website. It's really helped me in keeping track of what I eat and how much exercise I get.…

I have it. I'm 54, and it's hard to lose the weight, even tho I diet religiously and exercise most time 6 days a week, but it CAN be done. I'm thinking it's the age thing with losing the weight. Poly cystic doesn't mean you can't lose weight. Exercise, diet, and water-key ingredients. You CAN do it! Keep your chin up-Chris.

My son gets nauseating headaches from not eating all day. Terrible headaches that he has to have quiet and darkness to get over. I've heard not getting enough water can do it, too. Good luck!
-
So, I have a question-is it bad to go over your daily allowance of fiber? I wouldn't think so, but I'm in the negatives in that area some days. Not the cal., or the carbs. I would think more fiber would be good. Just wondered.

Lay on the floor, in front of your couch. Put your feet up on the seat of the couch, with knees bent, butt right up against the front of the couch. Try to stay in this position as long as you can. I find it relaxes the muscles in the lower back. Good luck!-Chris.

Hi from a near-by neighbor in MI. 20 below wind chill factor here! Spring can't come soon enough for me. This is a great site to log your food and exercise. I'm addicted-good luck to you-Chris.

Has anyone heard of calorie cycling? I read about it recently and wondered what dieters thought about it. From what I make of it, it's eating your required calorie amount one day, and then the next day, go lower. It's supposed to break plateaus and make the body believe you are not in starvation mode. I read about it on…

There's a web-site called "caloriesperhour.com" that I found quite helpful. Good luck!
-
:flowerforyou: Doesn't it feel great? Good job!

Fruits, veggies, yogurt and water! Protein, too. Lean chicken, or tuna. Packaged starkist tuna steaks are a good source of protein.
-
They say starvation mode makes it harder to lose weight, but I rarely, if ever, reach 1200 calories and I'm losing, slowly, but still losing. 1200 calories is alot for me. I eat mostly fruits and vegtables, some chicken and tuna. No sugar, no flour. You just have to find your "key' to losing slowly. I just increase…
