  • This is my upper body routine (google for pics): -bench press -flyes -one arm dumbell row -shoulder press -lat pull down -chin up -pushups This is not the order of exercises, I usually alternate an upper body and then a lower body or sometimes superset.
  • Food is always a better option than a supplement, that way you'll get to eat, feel full and get all of the macros instead of just protein.
  • Try googling playground exercises for ideas you can do while your kids are awake plus you'll end up taking them to the park more often.
  • THIS! Switch one or two of your cardio days with a 45 min routine and watch the transformation. Cardio to look good in clothes, lifting to look good naked amirte :-)
  • I eat my normal dinner and do my lifting at 7:30PM so I don't take anything before. I bought some basic whey protein from Wal-Mart that I take after my lifting workout. Don't eat too soon before lifting, I've nearly thrown up from doing that.
  • I don't post photos and make up my own lifting routines but it is def working. While I don't look smaller it's dramtically changed the way my body looks underneath the clothes, much firmer. I lost the weight through diet and running to look good in clothes, I lift weights to look good naked.
  • It's about balance, yesterday I over ate due to baking so today I am skipping one of my snacks. No one got fat from 1 bad day and no one gets thin from one good day. That said, if you did a lot of exercise you might be legitimately hungry and need food to replace the burned ones and for your muscles to recover.
  • If you are an evening binger, go to bed earlier. You can't eat while you're sleeping.
  • THIS Remember, if there was a trick that worked really well everyone would be doing it and MFP wouldn't exist. So if it sounds too good to be true it probably sort of is, feed your body when it's hungry and you should be fine.
  • I bring a list with me and check them off as I do them. I also copy & paste pictures from Google images so I don't forget how to maintain proper form. I browse the internet for ideas on different exercises, I modify my list all the time as I discover new exercises or replace boring ones with new ones. Try compound…
  • You can find great workout routines using stuff in your home/own body weight/weights for free on the internet. I'll spend an hour browsing blogs and whatnot and find great new exercises with photos and I copy&past so I can add them to my routine. Even googling Playground or junglegym exercise routine will turn out hundreds…
  • I do not eat back my calories because I am trying to lose some bodyfat. At some point I do plan to eat back the calories because it's not long term (yrs) maintainable to be calorie restrictive. You can eat them back and still lose if you are eating less that your body uses per day (through normal living & exercise), it's a…
  • Then I think you will be the leanest fittest lady around this summer doing what you are doing. Great job! Don't worry about a couple of lbs, if you are eating well enough and exercising you will get there in no time. Gym membership $ will keep me out of the gym this summer so here is my playground strength training…
  • Good for you! I do squats 3 times per week and everything is going great, Mon Wed and Sat. My routine is full body three times per week, if I am pushing myself such as last week I added 10 additional pound to my squat on Monday so I skipped squats on Wed and returned Sat. I did this to allow time for recovery, my bum…
  • I think it is normal to gain temporarily when you increase your caloires but from what I hear you will go back down once your body adapts to the extra amount of calories. Perhaps wait a few weeks and see if the weight "sticks". Because we are all on here with the same goal I feel the need to recommend you add some weight…
  • I think that looking for a pill to solve the hunger issue is a waste of time because if that really worked there wouldn't be fat people. If you were to eat healthier foods you could eat more of them since they are usually lower in calories, you wouldn't need to curb your appetite if you were full of healthy foods. Anyways,…
  • Unless it really hurts I'd give it a little more time and see if it continues. My lower back got sore when I first started running and lifting, as soon as my tummy mucles got a little stronger this went away.
  • my first thought is that you are lifting your knees higher and without strong enough core muscles you are using your back more than you should be. When I walk in place I exaggerate the movements without meaning to.
  • Trust me you will get over this quickly. I bring a list of exercises (cause I'll forget) and sometimes pictures of how to do them, like deadlifting. I have noticed that the reason people watch each other sometimes is because form is important and you learn from watching others. I think you will notice results much quickly…
  • Sometime more cardio is not the answer. Weight lifting has changed my body, from flabby to much firmer. I've only done shred once (so I'm no expert) but the weight she has you doing is not really weight lifting, too light. I've never seen shred it with weights so I have no opinion, but if the weights are challenging to you…
  • I thought I was the only one :-)
  • Is it possible that you are losing fat but increasing muscle a little so it's balancing out on the scale? Take measurements of your body circumferences if you are very concerned.
  • I'm not an expert. I think it's normal to be slightly heavier immediately after exercise from muscle swelling or whatnot. I am slightly heavier after I lift weights. I would not eat any of the exercise calories back, but that depends what your timeline for your goal is and how easily maintainable eating less would be for…
  • Hi, I run Mon-Fri for about 5km/day. I will eat a piece of fruit and a couple handfuls of trail mix 1 hr before my run for energy. I have found that this helps me keep my energy up better than what I eat the rest of the day. My normal day is approx: 100g carbs, I think about 40 g fat and 100g of protein. If you are running…
  • I am 18 months PP, I lost the weight but am stuck with some loose skin :-( You look great, real fitspiration!
  • I also lift 3 times/week, mostly compound exercises to save time. Since I started I have really increased my protein because I'm still on a calorie deficit. I bought protein powder the other day and mix it with foods I already eat anyways. My fav exercises are squats, deallifts, lunges while doing bicep curl, chin ups and…
  • I love shopping at consignment boutiques, top name stuff for 1/4 price. Wear dresses if you can, they look nice even when weight fluctuates.
  • My husband moved to be with me because I was offered a better job. We lived where we had moved 5 years and then I asked him to move again and he did. He sometimes thinks about "what-ifs" however now that we are a family he has benefited big time from the increases to my career. I am a lucky lady.
