Bump - this thread should stay visible! Thanks for sharing!

To all who have posted pictures: You can see a difference (a very big difference!) on EVERYONE!! So even if the weight loss wasn't what was hoped for, you are obviously moving in the right direction!! Congratulations and give yourself a pat on the back!!

@TeresaSavage Look at you!! What a Difference!! And you don't look 10 yrs older - you look younger! Great work, great dedication, congratulations!

Ok, I'm going to try to upload before and after pics, and went with the side shots as have others since I don't think there's much of a difference in the front shots. 1/1/11 3/18/11

Ok, so I am not where I was hoping to be! I'm usually pretty good about being under 2000 sodium, however; it seems that I go high on the sodium just before weigh in - how dumb is that!? Got a new HRM so I could see calories burned when I walk around the neighborhood and do the work that keeps me on my feet all day, and it…

Thank you for posting your story, Marla. I've found that although I've been keeping to around 1200 cal, my net calories are running 500 - 800 a day. My loss is sloooowww. I've been wondering if I need to boost the calories a bit, and I think you gave me my answer. Best of luck to you in getting things turned around!!

It was hard for me at first, but it honestly does get easier. I find myself taking a few gulps each time I pass my 64 oz water bottle. Now most days I drink 12 - 16 cups of water. I sometimes throw a crystal light packet in there to switch it up, or pour in a cup and throw a slice of lemon, orange, or cucumber in - very…

To Barefoot Beauty, You clearly realize where your difficulties have been, so kudos for that ! I'm like you - love the pastas and breads, and it's hard to eliminate them (I reach for the Dreamfield low carb pasta when I have to have it - but trying to avoid all together). You are making steps in the right direction, and…

VERY TRUE on ALL accounts Krystle!!

I love it when people post their progress pics! You are amazing, inspirational, and motivational!

Oh heavens! Don't give up on yourself! I think most of us have had those days where we make one bad choice and figure "what the heck, I screwed up earlier, why not make the entire day a bad one?" Don't give in to that! One bad choice doesn't have to lead to more!!! As others have mentioned, don't deny yourself the yummy…

I was pretty much tracking calories (1200) and sodium (1500) only at first, but have gone back to watching the carbs which worked well for me in the past. We'll see how well I do for it now! I really don't worry about the fat or protein (just making sure I have at least 60 per day.

I've had scales like that in the past too! I finally gotten one that seems very reliable. I have really found the Weight Watchers digital scale to be very (unfortunately sometimes) accurate no matter where I put it. It also is the first scale that weighed me the same as the Dr.s office, which always weighed me heavier than…

I have really found the Weight Watchers digital scale to be very (unfortunately sometimes) accurate no matter where I put it. I had the same problem as you and this is the first scale that stays the same. It also is the first scale that weighed me the same as the Dr.s office, which always weighed me heavier than my home…

Ditto all the above and Leandread - you are a HOOT!

I think I get that, Krystle, and If I figured correctly, I should be eating more calories than I have been.... I think..... And it would be awesome to have another challenge! I was thinking how sad I'll be when this is over (and I'm not sure I'll make the goal - but won't be giving up!) Count me in - don't want to lose any…

Well, it was only a .5 lb loss for me this week. Again, I'll take it. I have been much higher on the sodium than I like to be due to a recipe that I made (very yummy), will DEFINITELY use low sodium soups next time (just had the regular in the pantry). I am making a concerted effort to do "real" exercise (gym, workout…

[/quote] I've done low carb in the past (Protein Power by the Drs. Eades). It worked wonders for me in the past, and although I'm not going at it as hard as I did (limited to 30 gr of carbs per day), I am really trying to cut back drastically. Feel free to friend me and you can see my diary. This week wasn't maybe the best…

So funny! I just posted the same thing on my profile. Ate breakfast a little late, completely not hungry for lunch (which I did shove down) and thought about just waiting to eat (except for afternoon snack) until dinner. Then I would have been pretty below on my net calories (which I usually am). I'm wondering if that's…

My greatest fear(s) are that: 1) I won't succeed, and 2) That I will get down to my goal weight and will gain the weight back again. Addressing #1: I don't know why I would have that fear since I have found MFP and all YOU awesome people who are great support in helping me to achieve my goal! Addressing #2): I have never…

Hi Snowflakes. Well, only a 1 pound drop, but at least the scale continues to go in the right direction (albeit not as quickly as I'd like!). I think 2 things may be slowing me down: 1) Lack of "real" exercise (ie. walking, gym, exercise dvd), and my net calories somehow keep falling below (and sometimes very below) 1200.…

I "liked it'!:

Great post!!!

If I am cooking from a recipe (or just winging it and throwing things together) I try to weigh the ingredients and enter everything into the recipe calculator in the food section of MFP. It works beautifully! I bought a kitchen scale for measuring ingredients for breadmaking, and never realized how much I'd end up using it…

Excellent post!! So very true about the prepackaged stuff - even sandwich meats (so high in sodium and yuck)! I bake boneless, skinless chicken breasts or roast beef and slice those for sandwich meat (on homemade bread) - and my kids have to fight the other kids off when they take out their lunches. When their friends come…

Wow, what a change since last weeks post! Congrats on the weight loss - so glad you are finding what works for you! I'm realizing I need to go back to concentrating on the carbs too (I found Protein Power by the Drs. Eades worked well for me). Keep up the great work!

Great attitude, woman!! Love seeing the salad and salmon on your menu!! I think if you try to work in more natural foods - the lean meats, veggies, a little fruit, and watch the fat and sodium you'll see the scale heading downward more quickly. The low to non-nutritional fillers (rices, noodles, basically the starches…

You know what has helped me a ton? A kitchen scale! It was actually very eye opening to see what I thought things weighed compared to reality. Do you realize how small a 3 oz serving of meat is??? OMG - when I went to weigh the steak I was having last week - what I used to think of as a regular serving of sirloin - 1/2 a…

Yeah! After very little downward movement (I mean .10 of a pound one week, lol) in the last few weeks, I finally dropped to my first mini goal weight (which I was aiming to hit 1/28) so I am behind where I wanted to be, but at least I'm moving in the right direction :) I think the difference for me was really watching my…
