Garmin Vivofit. You can check DC Rainmaker's review. I've had mine for about six months and the device is solid. The software is a bit shakey, but the seem to respond th issues.

Yoghurt made with fruit.

DC Rainmaker has probably reviewed sensors, so I'd have a look and see what he has to say. Also, people then comment on his blog so you can find answers to questions there too.

Similar to this but with rolled oats instead of muesli, and with a small handful of almonds or walnuts. Also some cinnamon and ground ginger for more flavour. It's usually my biggest meal, but keeps me going until lunch time.

I've had mine for several months and the red bar, along with trying to make sure I hit my step goal makes me look for opportunities to walk. I'm Polly274 on Garmin Connect. I have a hip injury at the moment, so most of my activity is walking the dogs.

I would write them an email. They have responded fairly quickly when I've had an issue.

I think it would be very accurate. Polar is known for accurate HRMs. Reviews by DC Rainmaker are worth a look.

I don't think many people use Polar Loop. I happen to be pretty happy with Polar stuff, so if you wish to talk about Polar stuff feel free to message and/or friend me. Also, yes lots of forum stuff seems to be basically hidden.

I like the recumbent exercise bike. I could control how hard I worked and step off if I needed. I kept a record of my workouts so I could try to do a bit more each time, or work a bit harder.

I use Vivofit and Edge 500 - Polly274

I had the same condition and my podiatrist said it was ok to ride a bike, but not stand up in the saddle. I joined a dragon boat club to give me that hard aerobic workout I was looking for and I could keep my feet flat to allow the tendon to not pull at the heel. In my case the podiatrist advised me to stretch my calves. I…

I belong to a rowing club. We were taught to use the damper on 4 as that is similar to racing conditions, and a stroke rate of around 22 spm. Counting one for the stroke and coming up the slide for a count of three leads to good boat run. I have seen a lot of people in gyms using poor form, so I would suggest you ensure…

Yearly should say monthly.

If you list your goals it will be easier for people give meaningful responses. I use Polar Loop and Garmin Vivofit. Both allow the use of a HRM, and both also encourage the user to sit for fewer hours each day. Polar Flow now syncs with Apple Health, but still not directly with MFP. I prefer Polar because their app gives…

I've used both with a HRM and the Vivofit shows the HR zone you are in. The Vivofit does not have its own light. Also, you can add activities manually to Garmin Connect. I personally like the summary that Polar gives after the activity has been completed. Sorry for the disjointed thoughts.

I meant Polar Flow syncs with Apple Health.

Polar Loop now syncs with Apple Health and Apple Health syncs with MFP. To see the display on PL you need to touch it.

There is a Vivofit group, but I'm not sure how to search for it!

My PF is getting better after using orthotics made for me, and wearing appropriate shoes (that I showed my podiatrist). I would certainly try to get it sorted ASAP so that the less damage is done to the tendon by the irritation and inflammation.

People who sit more than 11 hours per day do have an increased risk of chronic diseases like diabetes. The other thing that has been mentioned is walking for five minutes at least each hour leads to better health outcomes. These results are independent of other activity, so if you run for one hour each morning it doesn't…

Dragon Boat Paddling and Rowing are traditional sports, but not very common on this site.

I read a study that said Biggest Loser contestants did indeed lower their metabolisms for the long term even though they did retain some muscle because of the weight training.

I'm waiting to get a Polar M400. The Garmin FR15 looks good, but a bluetooth HRM will work with lots of phone apps. DC Rainmaker writes in depth reviews of fitness watches and HRMs.

In addition to the other helpful features of Vivofit, I really like the "red bar of shame" that will not go away unless you get up and walk around (or add the HRM and do another activity). Inactivity time and being inactive for more than an hour (or even 30 minutes) at a time is a risk factor for metabolic diseases…

I found that I have to manually sync between MFP and GC on the GC website (calories in/out) for the update to appear on the GC app.
-
Is there a way to sync the Loop with MFP?

If you are drinking a litre of water each hour during the workout, the other thing to look at is food. I found that fruit yoghurt straight after an intense workout has helped me as well as drinking about 2.5 litres of water on workout day. I also have plenty of complex carbohydrate rich food a few hours before the workout.…

Garmin Connect is a web site/app that keeps displays steps and activities from some Garmin devices. I link it with MFP to have my calories/kilojoules counted against what I eat. Garmin Connect also has a social component to share activities with others.…

I'm motivated and in my late 40's. I walk most days, log every day, paddle in a dragon boat a couple of times per week, and use Vivofit to keep me moving throughout the day. BTW I am Polly 274 on Garmin Connect and I am happy to connect with anyone who is interested in health and fitness.
-
I use Garmin Vivofit and Polar Loop. The thing that these devices also do to help health is remind you to move. Vivofit is best for this as a red bar appears if you haven't walked around for the previous hour and it won't go away until you take about 100 steps. DCRainmaker has written in depth reviews of lots of fitness…
