I understand where you're coming from. I struggled (and still do) with cravings and just completely eating everything in sight. I also used to eat based on my emotions, so if I was sad I'd go get a bag of chips and eat it all. But, I've found a diet that works for me and suits my needs. For me, that diet is the keto diet.…

I'm 5'4 and I'd love to be around 140 to 150 pounds.

That's EXACTLY what I thought! I'm really glad you guys all agree with me...I wish I could say something to her but since she's a nurse I feel like she'll say "I'm a nurse so I know what's best..." Note: I have absolutely no intentions of trying it. It sounds dangerous and horribly unhealthy. No thanks!

I'm looking at these two because I really want to eat healthy, organic food. I don't want to cut corners. I want the food that I'm eating to be wholesome and good for me. I've also heard the most success from these two. Also, I do plan on making this a lifestyle change, not just a quick fix/diet.

You might have gained some muscle since you've been going to the gym. Do you notice any physical differences in your body?

My mom is the source for any and ALL of the rude comments I have ever gotten. "You'd be so pretty if you lost some weight." "You looked so pretty back then...what happened?" (Again, talking about me gaining weight) "You're never going to get a boyfriend" And then various comments of parts of my body that are too big. Also…

I'm 20 if that counts for anything. (I'll be 21 in a few months!) I'm looking to lose weight as well and I really need some motivation and support! I'm also a sophomore in college.

I have the same problem as you do and I am 20. I started my medication when I was 16. I lost 30 pounds from doing NOTHING different at all. Just from the medication alone. I still ate poorly and lost weight. Then I made a conscious decision to lose weight and ate 1500 calories a day when I was 17 (on the medecine) and I…

I also agree that having a good circle of people to inspire/motivate me would definitely help. I don't mind opening my journal to the public, so I will do that. I'll also accept any requests I get as well. :)

Thank you both for the inspiration/ideas! I've heard that calorie counting is not always the best thing, and that it's the nutrition that truly counts. (That doesn't mean that I'm going to go overboard, on average I end up eating anywhere between 1000-1500 calories depending on the day.) Any advice on how to beat/solve…
