I usually try to plan a small snack, because I tried this kind of thing once, that "don't eat after (x)pm," thing, and I couldn't sleep. I already suffer from insomnia and weird sleep patterns, so I decided not to worry about this. Enjoy the challenge, hope it works for some of you!

I didn't know that. The gym I've been to has those heart rate monitor things, and if you let go of them, it beeps angrily at you. I assumed I shouldn't be holding on for dear life, but should I just not touch these while using a treadmill or what?

You look like a younger, flushed college guy in the photo. I'm 27.

twright Maybe 19?

I know nothing about "toxins" but I've heard that drinking a glass of water before you go to bed helps keep your skin clear. I always wake up thirsty from not drinking anything while sleeping so I drink water. I feel less groggy afterwards. I think the idea behind "toxins" is that drinking enough water helps your kidneys…

Actually that would be kind of adorable.

Nah, my bad relationship is with the potato chip. I just don't buy them. If I do, I will eat the entire bag.

My boyfriend's grandparents recently threw out an air popper from the 1970s. It's awesomely easy to use but really loud. Check rummage sales if you want one.

We are saying the same thing but you keep putting the blame back in. As someone who has also suffered from major depression my entire life, I can't have people telling me what I can't do. My whole life is me struggling to accept that I'm NOT a grotesque disgusting freak who has every single wrong instinct and blaming…

Nah, everyone has a different idea of a good time. As long as yours doesn't involve torturing kittens or something this is pretty natural.

Thanks for the ideas. Based on the info ITT I think I could try doing the level one for longer, maybe doing it 10 times every other day or 3 times a week and then going from there based on how I feel. We both went from part time work to full time work this month so things are kind of stressful, which is a part of it for…

There's like a 60% chance. She's cute but she looks like she might be kind of high strung.

Just did the math. That would be 36 per day, right? I think I might be able to manage this.

I really want to do this but I'm currently VERY out of shape and have asthma so I'm considering myself in training to do it. Also, I asked my BF and he's pretty sure me doing this every day for a month would annoy him- we live in a small studio. I'm hoping that if I give myself time I can find a solution to that problem.

First, I buy everything online, because most places either have my size online but not in real life or are sold out of it because I live in Wisconsin, or just because I hate the modern shopping district thing where you drive to the store that is far away from everything, then find a parking space, shop for a little while,…

To be honest, I hate people who put forth this attitude on the internet. Not because they aren't right, but because of the way they present their message. Life circumstances can make changes difficult. But telling people "You just don't want it enough to do the work so you're making excuses, might as well give up now…

Sometimes when you have a regular habit of binging on an unhealthy food, such as my relationship with potato chips, for example, it's easier to swear off it in the short term so you can relearn how to control yourself with that food. This shouldn't last forever, but in the short term it might be better for you, sometimes…

It doesn't work for me. I feel like I never ate anything and get too focused on food. Plus, on days when I work, I can't realistically be constantly munching on things, some days if we are busy I barely have time to eat at all!

This. Also, have you ever fasted? I tried it once for non-health reasons related to spirituality. I would not recommend it to anyone. Your body needs fuel. Fasting means a lowered ability to concentrate, impaired decision making skills, and feeling like you have a hangover and a sinus infection at the same time. Unless you…

I used the diet in a book called "The Rapid Fat Loss Handbook" once and it worked pretty well. It's an intermittent fasting/high protein low carb thing where you eat around 7-8 hundred cals a day and then have "cheat" meals where you eat whatever you want. It worked, but it didn't really seem like anything that would be…

Oh man, do you watch Supernatural? You made me think of the great music in that show, and then I pictured Dean as a personal trainer which would crack me up.

I love Queen- Fat Bottomed Girls Sir Mixalot- Baby Got Back Trace Adkins-Honky Tonk BadonkaDonk (Are we sensing a theme here? I'm pear shaped and do a lot of lower body exercises.) Tori Amos- Body and Soul Cake- Short Skirt, Long Jacket Courtney Love-Mono Cage the Elephant-Ain't No Rest for the Wicked Muse-Knights of…

I adore Lentils. They're $1 a pound, choc full of fiber and protein so they're very filling, and you can cook them with a little broth or whatever veggies you want and they're yummy. I do have to add some sort of fat to them for them to come out right, usually I cook them with chicken, chicken broth or a tsp of olive oil.…

I can relate to a lot of this, depression+ meds is a big part of my weight issue, too. It's tough when just getting up the motivation to leave the house seems like the hardest thing in the world, but if we pull together and focus on doing what we can instead of letting negative stuff make us feel paralyzed hopefully it…

I am going to make this harder for myself because I have one day in already. Normally the only exercise I get is walking to work. I've been working more than I usually do (I normally work 1-2 times a week because of underemployment but this week I work 6 days) On Sun, my day off, I went for a walk to my local mall and then…

This. I'm currently working on a paper about how makeup and wardrobe can even strongly affect this. Studies have shown that attractive people are perceived as nicer, more competent, and more intelligent than average people. Weight in the west is also a class issue, and people who are born into working class families are…

Deleted, only read op. This is a troll thread. A very successful one.

I'm pear shaped and I really like the look of a wide thigh tapering into a rounded calf with a smaller ankle. I grew up with classic films and a lot of women in those were trained dancers and curvy legs were the style back then. I want to lose fat all over, but I don't really want the currently fashionable straight legs. I…

I use the pans I get used from thrift shops, because I'm broke. Some have teflon, and I'm not too worried, I throw them out if they start to chip and pay a buck for a new one. A lot of my baking pans are cheap enamel, porcelain, or glass. For skillets and stuff, have you tried cast iron? These can be gotten cheap as well,…

This. Also, has he been pretty much hanging out and staying the same while you've been working out and making a ton of new changes in your life? This might make him feel insecure and left out. Talk to him about it and try to make some time to do more things together. A lot of couples have habits that revolve around eating…
