I will more than likely do this again. I enjoy running.

My original goal was to lose 101lbs, which put me at 150lbs. I had tunnel vision until I reached that goal. Now, I still exercise just as just as much as I did, honestly, because I enjoy it. I get up everyday and go to the gym before I get ready for work. It is just a habit now. I still log what I eat everyday. I set a new…

I read your blog and we have a similar story. (except of course, I am older and was much more over weight than you were) I also have 2 sons. I just wanted to let you know that it can be done. I wanted to get down to 150lbs when I started as well. I looked at my boys often as motivation to get healthy to be a good example…

I would check the nutritional value on the company's website to make sure that is accurate. It could be more than that. Sorry for the shock. I have had that happen a few times when I look up how many calories are in the foods that I use to eat all the time.

When you go to a resteraunt, order what you want and ask the waiter to bring a to go box when they bring out your order. Put half the meal or more in the to go box and enjoy the rest. Then you have the meal that you want and lunch the next day. That's what I do.

This is my opinion. The reason you crave them so bad is because you make them off limits. Allow yourself to have them in moderation. Hold yourself accountable and you more than likely won't want them as much.

That one was awesome. He had the ladies crying as they were making the gift bags for the troops. I normally don't like the show, but that one was really good. I received a gift box from a church when I was deployed and it really does lift spirits to get boxes in the mail. I give MAJOR props to that guy!

What's really bad is I borrowed the bike. I had to check to see if I damaged the bike too. Turned out I didn't. The helmet was ok too.

My story of my weight loss is in the link in my signature. It has several before, during, and after pictures. Feel free to look.

I really hope so. Either that or a marathon. I am really into running, it has become addicting.

Very good point. I will counter by saying that (in my opinion) eating a pan of fudge or an entire package of cookies is also not "cheating". Eating that much of that kind of food is what I would call binge eating and involves a whole host of other issues and concerns. I still wouldn't call that behavior cheating.

Wow, this is really harsh. You talking about judging people. I think I was rather PC in my question in the OP. I was wondering why this particular word works for other people. I stated that it bugged me, not that I hated everyone that uses it.

When i was pregnant the 1st time I was clearly over weight. A co-worker or mine brought the big bowl of homemade cookies and was literally walking around the bowl to hand them out. He gave one to the girl standing behind me and I went to get one and he pulled the bowl back and said, "are you gaining too much weight? I…

I can honestly say I don't make extra trips to the bathroom to look in the mirror. HOWEVER, I would be lying if I said I didn't look while I was already in there. Also, the way my bedroom is set up as soon as you walk in you see yourself in the mirror and I always look at myself in that mirror now. I am still amazed and…
"and/or said person is flat out lying about what size their wearing.
Like me lying on my driver's license. If I can lose six pounds, I won't be lying anymore :)
Just wait until you can't wait to renew your license because the LIE you put on there is now 20 pounds more than you actually weigh. [:…

I am 5'6'' and I weigh 147. I wear a size 6. I have no reason to lie or exagerate. I have worked to hard and lost too much weight to make something up. I do, however, find myself curious sometimes when I read stats of some others. I don't let it bug me though because they are not hurting me.

I dispise the word cheat with regards to food. I think that he is being a little ignorant in changing his eating habits so drastically from day to day. You can't spread your calories over 2 days. That is like saying I am going to take a 5 hour shower today because I don't have time to shower tommorrow and I can spread the…

One thing I have learned from this site is log what you feel is a workout for you. Don't worry what others think or feel about it. If you feel it is a workout, log it.

No, never, not going to happen, I would go insane, I would never even consider it, not an option, crazy suggestion, the thought makes me shudder. MUST.............HAVE...............COFFEE............:explode: Just the thought of even considering not having my daily coffee. :noway:

I think you are talking to me. I run 5 - 6 miles every morning. I have been going at this for about 9 months now and I built up to that, so it happened to me over a little time. However, I really have muscle definition all over my mid-section. I have had to pregnancies and 2 c-sections and currently have a pretty decent…

Running. Some people don't like to run, but it worked for me. I don't do very much ab work specifically. I just run a lot and my stomach has become pretty flat.

I haven't read the other responses. (I am going to give some tough love because I really want to help. Please take this constructively) You asked, "what's the point?" I want to address that statement. The "POINT" is your health. I see you picture and it looks like you have kids. The "POINT" is you are an example to them.…

When I was 250lb, it was nothing for me to burn 700 - 800 calories in a 45 minute workout. I worked really hard and believed it when the machines told me I burned those big numbers. Now at 147lbs, I can bust my butt for an hour on the treadmill doing my run/powerwalk intervals and I burn 500 - 600. I know it is because I…

Take a quick look at my weight loss ticker. OK. I lost every pound on their with the Mirena IUD in. I got it put in about 7 weeks after my son was born and I began losing weight because I eat right and exercise hard.

I am dissapointed in that dietition. You would think in her line of work (only dealing with people who need to lose weight) she would at the very least be respectful. I appreciate a little tough love, but it from what you said she crossed the line of respect. That is just wrong. Having said that, awesome job on the weight…

I think there are much more tastful ways of supporting breast cancer survivors or research. I agree with the previous post, if there were people wearing "I heart balls" bracelets, there would be a bigger uproar I think. My grandma had breast cancer. I support research almost every opportunity I can. I don't think there are…

I have had 2 c-sections and had a relativily "not pretty" stomach when I started losing weight. I run about 5 or 6 miles a day and have for months now and I must say, I am very happy with my stomach now. I don't do a ton of sit ups or the ab machine in the gym, I would say maybe once a week. I mostly just run. It works for…

There should be nothing for you to "go back" to. Especially if if it means eating unhealthy all the time. For me, I look at my kids and I want to be able to play with them and be active. You need a new normal and just live. If you would like, you can read my success blog in my signature. It is exactly how I did it. Good…

EATING IS NOT CHEATING!!!!!!! <----My opinion and sorry, but I feel very strongly about this. My blog is in my signature and I have a big paragraph about my feelings on using the word cheat to describe anything food related. Please click if you would like to read my full opinion. I hate the word cheat. I do not cheat when…

I want to say that I was most looking forward to being able to cross my legs and look cute, not have my crossed leg stick out and have to use all of my leg muscles to try to point my leg as far down as it would go. <---TRUE STATEMENT Now, I cross my legs all the time and I can just relax. It is so cool. I don't know why I…
