Hi Carol, and welcome!! I've been to Oahu several times and have many close friends there. I agree, it's one of the most beautiful and serene places in the world. It's definitely a good place to start in Polynesia :) Thank you for posting in and introducing yourself. We're all here for the same thing and encouragement and…

Yup. I log cleaning on my activities. I don't work and my activity level is sedentary. If I'm not working out at the gym then I'm pretty much inactive for the rest of the day. So when I'm doing a cleaning job, it's usually more than one hour of vacuuming, sweeping, moping, hauling, bending, scrubbing and sweat is pouring…

That's awesome. I was also just doing this to journal my food but it's turned into something more. Thanks for sharing :)

A moderator is like the "group security" where you make sure everyone is behaving and not putting up obscene pictures or cursing people out lol. Would you care to be one? And yes! Start the challenge today if you can. There's nothing to join, you just start doing it :) Good luck and keep up the hard work!

Since I started this thing, I should at least make an intro so here goes :) sorry for the novel lol I lived and worked in one of the most fast paced and energetic cities in the world, NYC. I was a Banker by day, and a hula dancer during off hours and weekends. I was constantly active and my lifestyle had me all over the…

Hi Charlotte! Welcome and thanks for being the first to post :) Good news is that you're still young. Take it from someone on the brink of 40, haha. You can do anything you put your mind to and it's wonderful to discover new limits you never knew you had as you go through this journey. I hope we can really support each…

I posted about this on my profile: I've done some envisioning to help me get through my workouts especially when I feel I can no longer push through. Each pain I feel during an exercise I envision my good cells fighting with and literally killing off a fat cell (complete with swords and all lol) and that somehow gets me…

I think if you've tried all the methods to lose weight naturally without success and you have the money, plus your doctor recommends it, then do what you think is right. No one else can feel what it's like to be in your shoes. I've contemplated the idea before but am now opting to go natural and put in the effort. I had…

Hi hun, welcome! We all seem to be in the same boat. I recently started actively logging on MFP just a few months ago but had the app on my phone for 2 years lol. The answer was right under my nose! But that's what's great about MFP- you go at your own pace and just having the right people around to motivate you goes a…

That's what I miss most about NY, the free activities, events, concerts, festivals, you name it. I especially miss spring, when people start shedding the winter coats and start showing some skin- the flash of color, fashion and flesh is hypnotic. People watching at it's best lol. Can't wait to be back next year!

great advice! I was looking to find hot yoga in my area.

White during the day. (chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, Riesling) Red in the evenings. (Cabernet, Malbec, Shiraz, pinot noir) Heard of this wine called Stone's Ginger wine (green label) It's brewed from ginger and anything from ginger has got to be good, right? lol Also, if you're looking for wine education, check out this…

LOL, thanks. I don't mind looking stupid when I'm skinny, I like to go against the grain. But being overweight, it's one less thing to draw attention :) thanks

It's crazy but she's maintained it off for 2 years, go figure.

lol, you don't actually have to eat 20 potatoes a day, it cuts all other forms of carbs except potatoes...as well as all sugar, diary, and red meat. I do agree though, fads are bad and it'll do more hard than good in the long term.

great advice!

great thread, a lot of information so I'll be referencing here a lot. Thanks

Hi, Like you, I'm hitting my 40's next year and I've resolved to lose 100 lbs before then. I want to be able to throw a huge party with my friends and family to ring in the big 40 and look and feel like a million dollars. I'm tired of being depressed after a day of shopping where the "plus size" section has little to no…

I was devastated when I couldn't find French vanilla coffee creamer here in Australia. Back in NY, I was addicted. Up to 6 cups of coffee extra light a day. I begged my mom to send me the powder kind, just so I'd have it. She said I didn't need it and never sent it. I am now grateful that I can't find any of it here. Helps…
