Communication!
Hello everyone! I've created this special space for all us Islanders to communiate and share, swap ideas of what's working for each person. I don't see too much traffic on here and I'm saddened by what we can all be missing out on. We have 21 members up to date and nothing's really being discussed. Just wanted to see where…

New Group: MFP Polynesians - People of the Pacific
I couldn't find any support group for people of the South Pacific so I decided to start one. We have some of the biggest people in the world and the lack of nutrition knowledge as well as unhealthy food choices seem to go hand in hand with daily life. We live very sedentary lives and combined with our "laid back" attitude…

Aussie food scales - need recommendations pls
Hello everyone! I'm trying to find a good reliable and inexpensive food scale here and looking through ebay just overwhelms me because there are just too many. Can anyone recommend a really good brand and where they purchased it from? Not concerned so much with the cost if it's really worth it but anything under $50 would…

Motivational and Inspiring
Copied and pasted from Neila Rey's Google + page (and copied again from tikimatt) Healthy living doesn’t start on Monday. It’s not about committing to it and never looking back – that’s simply non-maintainable. How long can you stay on a strict diet and go on with a heavy exercise regime? a week, two weeks? Then you break…

Groceries on a budget !
This won't work for most people but if you're finding it hard to eat healthy on a budget, think again. Although I don't use most on the list created here, it's a good example of how one can get by a week on so little. My staples are: eggs, oatmeal, tuna fish cans, sardines, potatoes, milk - which can always be found cheap.…

Vibram Fivefingers sneakers
Even though I've heard great things about these sneakers, I don't see too many people sporting it. I know of only one friend who absolutely loves it and she's a runner (back in nyc). I also notice they've come out with socks to go with it. I'm really keen on trying them out but would love input from other's who have them.…

anyone heard of the potato diet?
Hi, Just heard from a lady today about the potato diet and was curious to see if anyone has ever heard of tried it before? It's very restrictive and cuts sugar completely from your diet. It also promotes drinking lots of warm or hot beverages with every meal, especially hot tea. this lady lost 70 pounds in a period of 6…

Accuracy with machines vs what's on MFP
Hi all, I'm somewhat new to MFP and find that the calories I burn on a machine doesn't exactly match that on MFP. As a matter of fact, it's substantially more calories burned on MFP than on my actual machine so I don't know what to make of it. How accurate is MFP and should I be concerned? Thanks for the help!

Food scale in Australia help pls :)
Hi there, I am looking to buy a food scale soon and would like some opinions from someone who already has one based in Australia. I have googled and found so many but I think asking the MFP community would be better than me trying to find the right type on my own. I'm looking for something that isn't too bulky, can fit…
