Hopefully the new gym (with Bodypump) will offer you a free trial membership so you can see if you like the class and if it will work with your schedule. I know how much it helped to find a location/class/community that worked with my schedule.

@Ultima_Morpha - sending you so many positive thoughts.

Woo Hoo! That's a wonderful milestone. Congratulations.
-
@jcavanna2 - Yes. I started my week off with a 5:30 am workout. It always motivates me to make great choices throughout the day when I start the day with a workout.
-
@rpyle111 - great advice. After my most recent stall/gain, I cut out some of the processed sugar I had been letting sneak back into my life. Maybe that was what broke the stall, maybe it wasn't, but it felt good to focus on improving my habits with food instead of focusing (too much) on the scale.

I understand the frustration. My surgery was in mid-December. Since then I've had some stalls and an occasional gain, but the trend is down. Each time I stall I let myself get too dramatic thinking that this is it, this is where my body is going to stop losing weight. It's still sinking in that surgery and the new habits…

Not sure that this technically counts as a NSV since the scale is kind of involved, but look who finally got out of Obese Class III. Of course, I can't wait to be out of any class of obesity, but this small milestone put a smile on my face.

@garber6th - Thanks for sharing.

I got up this morning and did a 60 minute, high intensity boot camp at 5:30 in the morning. I don't even recognize myself. ;)
-
I've been sucked in. FitnessBlender seems to have a lot of good stuff. Thanks for the tip.
-
I had some grilled chicken nuggets from Chick-fil-a the other day. Those were fine, but the buffalo dipping sauce was a no go.
-
@clcmfp - A woosh would be great. I think the scale just knew I was about to move from Obese Class III to Obese Class II and wanted me to wait for it.
-
@Lizakabibbis - thanks for responding. I'm DEFINITELY sore. Less sore each time, but I'm definitely using muscles that hadn't seen much action in years.
-
@NicoleL874 - constructive criticism is always appreciated. I'm just over three months out from surgery. I'm walking 10,000 steps daily and doing a 60 minute, high intensity interval training workout 2 or 3 days a week. I've been doing the walking for months, but the boot camp workouts have only been happening consistently…

Hi @Scochrane86 - my surgery was only three months ago. If I had it to do over again, I would do it in a heartbeat. I had never had any kind of surgery before, so I didn't really know what to expect from recovery. For me, recovery ended up being easier than what I had let myself imagine. I was uncomfortable for a few days…

Sending good thoughts for an easy recovery your way.

I've just been using Tylenol, but it definitely doesn't work as well as an NSAID. I'm thinking about getting an IUD. It feels weird to consider using birth control (I'm infertile - or at least I was for the four years leading up to surgery), but the thought of having a light period or no period is enticing.
-
I'll try making it a lettuce wrap. Maybe I'll just pack all the ingredients and assemble it at work so it doesn't have time to get soggy.
-
I put some black bean soup through the blender. I remember being so happy to eat something that didn't have a sweet taste.
-
@Lizakabibbis - I'm not sure what type of lifestyle I follow. I'm three months out from surgery and I'm still figuring out what works for me. I haven't been eating bread, rice or pasta to avoid those carbs and because they sit heavy on the couple of occasions where I've tried a bite. What does following a low-carb…
-
@garber6th - that is exactly the mindset my nutritionist advised me to use. She said if I was hitting my protein target and avoiding simple carbs, things would be just fine. I do worry about the complex carbs sometimes. I just never realized before how many carbs are in veggies and fruits. And then of course it's easy read…

Sending good vibes for tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

We just booked a trip to Maui with family in late June. In 2004, we celebrated our honeymoon there. If I can stick to my plan, there is a good chance I'll be back to my honeymoon weight (210ish) by the time we go on this trip. It would be great to reward myself by wearing the couple of pieces of clothing from my honeymoon…

Just a quick update... I pulled the trigger on a wig. I'm still getting used to it, but I think it's going to work. I found a ton of resources to educate myself on wig wearing. I'm happy to share if anyone else ends up needing help with hair loss.

I eat a few frozen things, but they aren't really meals. I always have some fully cooked and peeled shrimp in the freezer. I can thaw those out in a few minutes with some cool water to have a shrimp cocktail for lunch or dinner. I also keep some fully cooked hamburger patties in the freezer that I can heat and serve in a…

@StevenGarrigus - which protein bars do you like? What nutritional values are you looking for in a protein bar?
-
Sending good vibes. This group has been a big help to me.
-
I haven't pulled the trigger on a wig yet (still doing some research), but I did pick up a hat to hide under in the meantime. Honest opinion... if you saw me in this hat, would you assume I had cancer?
-
Well put @StevenGarrigus!
-
@martabeerich - you make a good point that the wig will probably make the problem worse. I'm just feeling super self-conscious so I don't know what else to do. I already wear my hair very short (I'm due for a cut now). I know there are worse problems, but... ugh.
