I second the Crock-Pot brand. I bought mine from Amazon about a year ago after my other Crock-Pot slow cooker died after 10 years of consistent use (1-2 times per week). I like mine because it can be set for up to 20 hours. Since most slow cookers tend to cook faster, and with my oh so lovely commute I'm away from home for…

Feel free to add me. I'm on a few times a day and I'll be as supportive as possible.

Don't let the scale be your only form of measurement. I learned the hard way that it's easy to lose motivation when the scale doesn't budge. Take body measurements and pictures as well.

Anyone is free to add me as well. I lost 20 pounds on my own but would love to lose another 40-60.

I'm on here every day. I'll be as supportive as possible! You can add me

Scorpio sun, Leo moon, and Taurus rising. I'm defininitely a Scorpio. I used to read a lot about Astrology because I would always end up in relationships with other Scorpios. If two Scorpios are arguing, duck and run for cover!

I used to work at a bar and you're supposed to either ask one of the members in the party for their name to add on the tab or put in a non discriminatory phrase. What an idiot! I'm not sure how he thought no one would notice.

You look amazing. Thank you for the inspiration!

Once I lose the weight and can maintain it for atleast six months, I'm getting a huge tattoo on my ribcage to reward myself. It's something that I've wanted for years.

Bobby pins and great styling products will be your best friend. Last year, I decided to cut 12 inches off of my hair on a whim. The first haircut looked awful (very Leo in the front and Pat Benetar in the back) and its the only time I've cried over a haircut. I have really thick hair too and I just looked like a big, poofy…

I have never traveled with a group, but know of several couples and single individuals who have with no complaints. If you are new to traveling, an escorted group would be a great way to start out. Two companies you should look into are Brendan Vacations and Trafalgar. Both offer escorted vacations, but just be aware if…

I love to travel. My family and I take one international vacation a year, usually to the caribbean, and my friends don't like to travel or can't afford it so I decided to go to some places alone and had an amazing time. If you're up for traveling solo, I would recommend Ireland, Iceland, Australia, or the Caribbean. People…

Congratulations! I just joined MFP a few days ago and it's great to read success stories like yours.

Due to food allergies, most local restaurants have a list of ingredients available. You just have to ask. I also just try to find a similar recipe and determine the nutritional value. Using the ingredients list and a serving/portion size chart, you can also build a recipe that would be close to what you ate at the…

It looks like I’m eating popcorn and making kale chips tomorrow! Nutritional yeast is also low in fat and has no added sugar or preservatives. I like to use it on salads in place of cheese and add it to mashed potatoes or mashed cauliflower for a cheesy flavor. I also substitute it for bread crumbs for bean and veggie…

I’m not sure what type of tofu veggie soup you’re looking for but this is one of my favorites. http://www.food.com/recipe/thai-vegetable-tofu-soup-191366 It’s a great recipe as it is but can be customized to your liking. I make a few substitutions like low sodium soy and coconut oil. Frozen veggies can be used if you’re in…

Most of the whey and soy protein powders I tried have an artificial taste. I alternate between rice protein powder and pea protein powder with no issues. The brand of rice protein I prefer is NutriBiotic. For the pea protein, I use Now Foods. Since rice protein is one of the easiest forms pf protein to digest, I would…
