I used to think a proper workout was 1 hour but it turns out you can get a great workout in 15-30minutes. Sometimes I do a YouTube workout that is 15 minutes and that is quite enough. No matter how busy you are there's always 15minutes in there somewhere.

I used to do that all the time ... Don't bring any dollar bills or coins to work

Got to love yourself and lose weight for yourself not anyone else

being a bad or lazy cook helps! my trick is to stop buying prepared/processed foods. every time I feel like I have to eat, I just go to the pantry/fridge and see that I actually have to prepare something to eat. at that point I'm just too lazy and go "meh" and find something else to occupy myself!

I'm 38 years old man from California. I think I've always been a fat kid (see me wearing a Where's the Beef? shirt). In high school I ballooned to about 180 but then lost to 145 by the time I graduated. Of course I gained my freshman 15 in college and plateaued to about 165. I've had stretches where I worked out a lot but…

looking great! it wasn't easy, I'm sure, but all the hard work and time has paid off! kudos

Don't be angry with yourself. Love yourself and love your body! It's easier and last longer coming from a place of self love!

You look great! What a change!

I find this MFP to be more helpful than anything I tried before. 1) there's an easy app to track calorie intake / exercise / weight. 2) there's a great community on here and most everyone is supportive and friendly because we're all trying to get to the same goals. It's OK to have setbacks but keep trying. You only fail…

I eat when I'm hungry ... But then I cannot stop!

The good thing about this process is that you can fail and be knocked down but you are never out! You can keep on getting up and keep at it! If you keep fighting you will never fail!

I also make a hot cup of tea. We have a Zojirushi water boiler for hot water, and a tea drawer. To limit caffeine intake I drink herbal or chamomile tea a lot. Hot beverages also make you sip slowly and slow down and be mindful of your surroundings and emotions. It's definitely a great way to counter binge urges!

I had known I needed to lose weight and joined MFP 2 years ago but fell off the wagon 1 1/2 months later! During the holidays I got sick with the cold that everybody got and all of a sudden I didn't have any appetite, so I probably lost a couple lbs. as I got better I figured that was a good kickstart to trying to lose…

Definite a change! Great job and an inspiration!

This world needs more love, and loving yourself is just as important if not more than any other kind of love.

I'm trying to divorce food from emotion. Every time I feel I want to snack, I just log on and read forums by people woth the same struggles or people who have succeeded, makes me feel a lot better right away!

The sugar activates a pleasure center in your brain so when you are stressed your body releases cortisol and signals your body to desire sugar. I think MFP and logging in your food helps you to disconnect the food from emotion and see food more as nutrition. Also seeking an outlet for your stress that is healthy is helpful.

If you fall off the wagon, don't consider it too long, just climb right back on! You will not fail!

Way too go!

Soda pop is one of the worst things you can take into your body, not only sugar and caffeine but also artificial flavoring and coloring as well as carbonic acid. I was able to make a switch to diet soda for about a year and finally the realization I was developing an ulcer made me quit cold turkey. The habit of ordering a…

add me, too! I got 30lbs but just really want a lifestyle change!

I sent you a request. I've gotten a hold on the eating thing, but the exercise part is hard. I don't feel like I have a lot of time to go to a gym. I'm gonna try to get on the elliptical 30 minutes a day.

Keep going! One step at a time, you don't need to get there in one week. Focus on the process and not the destination and you will get there!

What a great group! I have lost 6 lbs in the last three weeks but already feel like I am about to plateau. Hope to find some inspiration and support here!

I drink hot herbal tea, too. But mostly what works well for is just not buying the snacks at all. Every once in a while I'd want to binge because I am bored, even though I am well aware of it. I'd go stare at the pantry and not find any snacks. Problem solved!
