everyone is welcome to add me - my diary is viewable by friends and I've been vegan for 3 years :^) I went vegan (not plant-based) for ethical reasons, so I used to eat a lot of junk before I switched to a whole foods, high carb diet. I'm not really trying to lose weight, I was recently diagnosed with a hormonal imbalance…

Exactly! I'm 110lbs so less than this person's nephew but I'm a pole dancer/do weight-training so have never lost an arm-wrestle/push-up challenge against my male friends. Also, it's easy to build lean muscle when you're a child! Have you never been to a park and seen 7 year olds flying across the monkey-bars when the…

It depends on height, weight, sex, and activity level. I'm short, female and have a sit-down job so my maintenance is 1550. You should be happy that you can eat that much and still lose weight!! I'd kill to be able to eat 1900kcal and not have to spend hours in the gym burning it off just to stay the same weight.

Yeh, your weight fluctuates 2-4lbs per day. I weigh myself first thing every morning and just plot the overall trend (and take measurements once a week). Weighing once a week can be a problem too though, because you could have eaten well all week and just happen to be retaining water on the day you weigh yourself and think…

Ultimately, that's your body shape - the more estrogen you have, the more your weight sits around your thighs and hips so unless you took anti-estrogens (not a good idea!!!) you won't be able to change your proportions drastically. There's nothing wrong with being pear-shaped though, you should embrace it! I'm more of a…

Thanks! It's really cool because you're encouraged to write your reasons for doing it on the cards so you can look at it later. What would you write as your reasoning? I have "because I want to recover and be able to eat with friends"/"because I want to be more flexible"/"because I want to be hydrated and you know how…

I'm in recovery for anorexia, so my "diet" goal is no restricting/binge/purging; exercise is 10 minutes stretching per day; life is 2L of water per day; and 10 minutes mindfulness (which is a meditation-based therapy) :----)

If you're wondering how to log it on MFP, Jillian Michaels says the workouts are 1.6 x your weight in lbs. So if you weigh 112, you'd burn 179 calories :--) it isn't a massively high calorie burn because it's only 25 minutes and there's only brief cardio intervals. that's why taking your measurements is so important - it's…

Being short is tough for so many reasons! for example, a 5'3" person with a 28" waist looks much bigger than a 5'9" person with a 28" waist purely because of perspective (a square and a rectangle of the same width, basically). Plus, a short person has a lower BMR. My sister is only a few inches taller than me, but she…

When you're restricting by that much, your blood sugar drops and your cognitive function suffers. It makes you miserable and more likely to over-eat later. What you're doing is dangerous and will only lead to mental and physical difficulties. I've been in treatment for anorexia for coming up to a year now, and I wish…

Not technically a 20-something ... just a 20 :--) Good luck, and you're welcome to add me if you need support.

I've been here a while and log daily; you're welcome to add me :--)

Hi! I was diagnosed with depression in 2012 and an eating disorder in early 2013, and only recently have they realised that I've been suffering from BPD and those were symptomatic. I'm a very active MFP-user and it helps me a lot with remembering to eat/hit my calorie intake each day, and I've just started adding friends…

Hi! I'm 20, queer and trans* :--) I'm very active on here and would love to have more supportive friends.

I don't log daily activities because, in my opinion, it's better to underestimate the amount of exercise you're doing than overestimate.

Everyone has already said that it's all about patience and there's no time-frame but, on top of that, comparing yourself to other people is futile. Every person's body is shaped differently and somebody the same height and weight as you will carry their's differently. If you have a high amount of estrogen then you'll carry…

Also, according to doctors, you should be going anywhere between 3 a day and 1 every 3 days.

This is a problem a lot of people have when they first start dieting - even though you're eating healthier, you're still probably eating less fiber than your body is used to plus less water (purely due to the water content in your food). If you're getting constipated, you need lots and lots of water (if a drink contains…

I've started the 30 day shred about 12 times before; the furthest I've gotten is day 18 rofl. Even though it's only short, I can't commit to doing exercise every day because my routine varies so much - I've had a lot more success motivating myself to go to the gym 5 times a week because I get those extra days off. I do…

What you've done is incredible! Keep up the good work! As for day 10-20, you don't actually look chubbier, it's just that your pants are lower down so you can see where your groin naturally dips in haha. I always try to wear the same clothes for progress pics (if you can still fit into them) or take them in my undies…

1) Drink a glass of water before you eat, and have another to sip while you're eating; 2) It takes 20 minutes for your body to recognise you're full so slow down (sip water, put your fork down between mouthfuls and actually chew/enjoy your food instead of wolfing it down); 3) Start with less calorie-dense food like…
