My go-to snack---proscuitto panino 1oz prosciitto (60cals) 1oz fresh mozzarella (preferably in small balls) (80cals) 1 lettuce leaf Total: 140 cals Wrap the proscuitto around the mozzarella. For a meal eat more than one serving. Munch on the lettuce leaf because that makes it healthy. It is of utmost importance that you eat…

Holy cow! I didn't mean to win! I even weighed in a day early to prevent this from happening! I lost a lot of water weight this past week because I like to do low carb for calorie and hunger control. I wouldn't be offended if you passed the award down to someone who worked hard for it!

Not to worry, I am aware of the science behind it. Also, as someone without diabetes, ketoacidosis is not a threat.

Don't worry Tam, I know what I'm doing. I've already lost 21 lbs via low carb and sometimes a bigger deficit. I drink lots of water and keep an eye on my electrolytes!

I had to think long and hard about my "why." For me, dieting has always been a part of my life. It was a lack of self acceptance that drove the desire to lose weight. Though I have only slightly been overweight, I have had a low self-esteem for most of my life. I have recently recovered from social anxiety, depression, and…

Hey guys! I'm doing well. I am pretty busy with school but I went grocery shopping for all of my food. I'm doing low carb because I can cut out the carbs (which I don't miss much) to reduce my calories. It also keeps me full and not hungry. I was going to go for a run with a friend but I was feeling lightheaded and I…

Greetings Team Green! I'm Emily, but you can call me Emmy! I'm 21 and a full-time student. My interests are ornithology and wildlife conservation. I work with raptors and songbirds on a daily basis. I'm also quite the geek! I have always been slightly overweight. I've recently overcome social anxiety, depression, and body…

Could there be a small bonus for people who started this week? I am really tempted to put it off another week so I have more weight to lose during the competition (bad Emmy, I know...)

Screen name: xoemmytee Age: 21 Weight to lose: 15-20 lbs I've already lost 20 lbs but I would like to join because I am back at school where tempting pizza and fried foods keep knocking me off track. I would love a supportive community to keep me focused on losing!

I believe that clan eating is a great strategy for those who want to lose but don't count calories. It's really harder to overeat in veggies and low fat foods than with the standard american diet. However, if you are counting calories and you hit your macros and get ample micronutrients, then clean eating is completely…

hello, new best friend.

Is it mostly bodyweight stuff or is there some equipment involved?
-
I better finish my drink before it dissolves the can too!

I never understood the whole "inches total" or "all over" measurement that some people here have been using. The more places you measure the higher the total loss will be....
-
Ok.... I read it. Can I have my diet coke now? I'm feeling a little dehydrated so the 99% of it that is water would hit the spot!

Ice cream/ cheese. no meal is complete without cheese, and no day is complete without ice cream.
-
Dammit... Reading this thread makes me want to go for a run. I had a high calorie breakfast!

Happy birthday Sara! You should forget about your cut for the day ;)

I've read the book and Bret and Kellie did a really good job on it! I have started including exercises from the "glutes only" routine to supplement my existing lifting routine. I didn't really like the variety of equipment required for the gym version. I prefer simpler routines. That said, Bret taught me a lot about my…

Bacon, Turkey kielbasa (I'd eat the normal stuff but it tastes the same and I have trouble fitting protein in), giant slim jims, ice cream, eggs, cheeeeeeese, quest bars.

I'm at 17 miles. Getting kinda antsy that I won't finish because it's halfway through the month and I have a bad blister D:

To calculate a caloric deficit, make sure you're subtracting from your TDEE, not your BMR. Eating at your BMR is already a deficit (unless you're constantly comatose)

I tried them, but alas, I react poorly to sugar alcohols, leading to an eruption of Mt. Myanus. I tried Quest bars and they're good on my stomach and have a lot more protein and fiber. The only downside is that they're kinda expensive. Sometimes GNC does BOGO for Quest bars and I try to snatch them then. My favorite…

Oh by the way, I had grilled cheese last night. It's ok to have your favorites every once in a while to maintain your sanity!

I agree. I like low carb because I feel independent from food to a degree. I can skip lunch without my stomach protesting. I was never really big on carbs, never craved cookies or cake or bread, so low carb works well for me because I just eat more of the foods I really enjoy, which happen to be mostly fat and protein.…

omg please marry me.

I love me some Bret!

I agree with what most people have said about fats being ok. Prioritize protein. It helps to log your meals the day before or in the morning. That way you can manipulate serving sizes and the foods you eat to fit your macros better. Just fill in the rest with fats and carbs once you meet your protein goal. You can…
