-How much is too much cardio when your goal is strength gains/ fat loss. I lift every other day alternating BP/DL and OHP/Squat/Row workouts. I want to improve my 5k time too, so I wanted to run more. - Would I run after lifting on strength days or on my off days (considering that I leave one day a week as an actual rest…

A heart rate monitor is NOT supposed to calculate your TDEE. It is there to calculate calories burned when your heart rate is elevated through exercise or other activity. To get a better estimate of your TDEE, use a calculator. If the number is too low, exercise more. Then your TDEE will go up. *edit* 3dogsrunning posted a…

Today is Graeter's Salted Caramel. 279 calories per half cup? Would be nice if I were bulking but alas, I would rather be able to eat more foods for the calories. Also didn't taste much like salted caramel so I added some torani salted caramel syrup and it hit the spot!

I prefer Dr. Jeff Volek and Dr. Stephen Phinney who take a moderate stance on carbs--some people can eat lots, some people benefit…

Guys let's not get too polarized here. Low carb works for some, and not for others. It can have health benefits for some people (those with PCOS, epilepsy, type two diabetes) and it can cause people to lose weight more easily because they're not hungry all the time. People have different tolerance to carbohydrates. One…

I was really addicted to diet soda. I used to chain-drink them (is that a thing?). I could have anywhere from 6-8 cans and a large fountain drink. I was an extreme case, and I cut it down because an addiction to anything isn't good. I don't believe diet soda is unhealthy, but for me the dependence was mentally unhealthy. I…

1. Love and accept yourself before you lose the weight. Otherwise your journey will be centered around negativity and you won't be happy at your goal weight. 2. Measure everything. The little devil on your shoulder wants to convince you that portions are bigger than they really are. 3. Strength training may not burn many…
