I smoked on and off for years and also worked in catering so I know how important the cigarette break is. There are some excellent e cigarettes on the market try googling www.10MOTIVES.COM Just my theory but I think they hit the craving as well as well as keeping your hands busy You could also try talking to any med…

35 lbs isn't such a mountain to climb. Establish a sensible daily calorie intake and exercise routine through MFP Keep a careful, accurate and honest record of what you eat every day. Use MFP for support and inspiration when things get tough. No one can guarantee that if you follow the above you will shed 35 lbs but I…

Burning 500 calories in 30 minutes sounds about right if you were working our at a vigorous pace. The default MFP reading for 30 minutes on an exercise bike is 517 calories at a rigorous pace. I try to do 20 minutes a day on my Airdine and can usually manage to burn 300 calories per session. Cycling is brilliant for…

Hi I have had a long term problem with my ankle for about 5 years now It is a real pain. The one thing I loved doing was jogging, so that's out. I also enjoy walking but can only manage a slow three miles before my ankle starts hurting so not much cardio benefit. I joined a gym and a personal trainer found me an exercise…

Hi Yes fasciitis is the problem I have with my ankle. I can manage about 3 or 4 miles pain free walking but only at about 3 mph so not a great deal of cardio benefit. You are right about the dangers of cycling on the public highway. I'll be sticking to off road tracks if I do get a bike. Best

Hi cwolfman13 Thanks for your great post. My ankle problem is minor compared with yours and yet you obviously get much more exercise. Brilliant! I think cycling might be the answer for me. My generous colleagues gave me lovely retirement present recently, enough to pay a third towards a decent fold up cycle. I already do a…
