I had to go back and look. They are 15 dollars for two or 40 dollars for six. Used for the 1/2 gal mason jars. They also come apart for easy cleaning and are supposed to be dishwasher safe. I like gadgets so they call out to me :) but I didn't know if they would be useful or not. Would they work for making yogurt also?

These sound like they have one way valves to allow venting of gases. Just keeps other things from being able to get in maybe.

It's not natural, but Ambien seems to work great for some people I know. Of course for another friend it caused them to sleep eat and almost choke to death on powdered donuts. Sooo.......

I'm a month in and have basically not lost any weight either. I'm 49, 6 foot 1, and approx 213 lbs. I usually get in at least 10,000 steps a day and do some very light weight training as well. I think part of it for me might be that I am trying not to lose muscle mass so I am not going with a very big deficit. But I had…

Thanks! I thought maybe that's what it meant but I wasn't sure.

@dtobio I think people really do get jealous when they see you are sticking to it and losing weight or getting in better shape. Misery definitely loves company. And can someone please tell me what "DH" stands for? I have seen it in several posts.

I'm so glad I try and read as many of these posts as I can. I just had plain pork ribs for lunch and had no idea how to weigh the meat. I tried taking it off the bones first but that wasn't really working and it was making a huge mess, lol. Now I feel like an idiot. Weigh it before and then any remainder with the bones…

You guys are really making me crave some pure maple syrup/candy. Growing up in MI I always loved having it!

Wow, way to go!!

Fed up with bacon!?! OMG! I could never picture myself saying that! LOL!!

Fat definitely helps you feel full longer. And from what I understand, fat will not convert over to glucose (like excess protein) and your body will use what it wants and discard the rest. However, I'm still pretty new to this myself.

I did not know that. Glad I'm drinking coffee now since it's probably my main source of potassium here. That and the extra salt must be why I haven't gotten the "flu". I'm so glad I joined this group because I am learning a LOT from it.

@DaniKetoTaylor: Wow, great job catching that many! Making me miss Michigan (where I grew up). @ladipoet: Those are some delicious sounding suggestions for cooking. Can't wait until I'm back in Country and have a chance to try a few of those ideas myself.

I must be getting enough salt then. My wife says I'd put salt on salt, lol. I can't follow through on the suggestions because I'm overseas in an area with no access to grocery stores or mail delivery. I'm lucky just to have the food items that are available. I definitely plan to bring some vitamin supplements back with me…

I'm knocking on wood as I say this :) but.... I don't think I have experienced the "keto flu" at all. I'm into my 3rd week now and I always keep my total carbs below 30 and about half the time below 20. I have no access to any potassium or magnesium supplements over here and get almost no "green" anything. Lots of eggs,…

I was really excited when I checked the link and saw the blue cheese and the Caesar dressing because I love both. But now that I've started really paying attention to labels with this new woe I did a google search on Canola oil and didn't like what I was reading. Especially if you check out what they say on the "Food…

Thanks for explaining how to get my muscles to become fat-adapted better. I wasn't really sure about that process and this simplified it for me and also gives me a goal to go after. I've started doing interval runs on days in between lift days. Hopefully that will push the fat burn higher.
-
That's what I thought I was supposed to be doing for this. I've been following really well I think and keeping the carbs below 20 grams total most days and always below 30. I just got worried when I saw the post saying the body is going to burn fat taken in gram for gram before fat that is already present.
-
That's been part of my problem. Trying to find enough fat to eat to meet my "daily requirements". I have more problems keeping the calories in check because I can eat lots of meat. I'm still new to this and working on changing eating habits/listening to my body. I also though we were supposed to eat a lot of fat (within…

My wife thought the same way. Butter! That's going to be oily and gross! Now she makes her own bulletproof coffee (with butter and coconut oil) every morning using a small emulsifier to blend it all up.
-
For serious coffee snob credentials you should treat yourself to some Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee (not the blend but the 100% certified JBM coffee). It has excellent flavor (hint of nuttiness) and rich aroma with no bitter aftertaste. I usually buy several pounds of it in bean form when I'm in Jamaica and bring it back…

Thank-you so much! I would probably have missed it if you hadn't flagged it.
Auntstephie321, you know, that's probably what the case was the first few days as I was adjusting my settings often. My goals seem to be steady now that I figured out calories will be added to my goals when I exercise. I hope to find a way to change that.
This could be wrong but I think you can change it…

Yes! They are excellent for getting psyched and working out!

Thanks for breaking it down for me FIT_Goat! Especially because it was in terms that I could follow and understand.
-
It's good to know that excess fat won't turn into glucose. I'll also check out the bulletproof link you suggested.

I was given that nickname years and years ago when I was in Texas doing some military training but I know why you figured it meant I was on a rig. I'm actually in the Middle East right now. I am avoiding any sauces or even marinades. my food list consists of the same foods over and over for the most part. Boiled eggs,…
