MFP says this is me just barely in the "Healthy range for BMI" and says I'm at 24% body fat. I think this is part of what everyone talks about when they say don't focus too much on what the scale says. This progress picture was taken after about 8 months of LCHF and a loss of 45 lbs. I didn't eat anything specific to try…

My friend sells Ketopia so of course he swears by it (and he has lost about 75 lbs). My wife did 2 rounds of it (mainly to help him out). She thinks it mainly helped because it is very structured and tells you exactly what to eat along with the drink (which she said tasted horrible). She said the other items tasted…

Mine was given to me by a group of people I was going through some advanced military training with. It didn't matter how hard it was, how banged up I got, or how crazy the mission was, I was always "all in". They started calling me a "Rough Neck" because I didn't seem to care what happened to me as long as I got a chance…

Thank you so much for the assist! I'll send the link to her.

I've never understood guys who do the "franks and beans" shots to people. Especially unsuspecting people. I've never thought a picture of that area would be very appealing to most women. But that's just speculation on my part.

When I'm home I only drink Scotch or whiskey on the rocks because of carbs. The only time I have beer now is part of a tradition me and some of the guys have done for years after making it safely out of whatever Country we've been in and are headed home on R&R. We always have a few (read many, lol) pints of Guinness at the…

Thanks! That's some handy information to have available!

Mine was gone for about a week but it suddenly popped back up about 2 days ago.

I might actually try and make pumpkin puree from fresh pumpkin. I bought a food processor about 8 months ago for all the delicious recipes I see on here and haven't had a chance to use it yet. It's pumpkin season so maybe I'll give it a try.

My Dad bakes bread so I asked him to make a loaf of soul bread for me and it turned out like that. But he apparently didn't leave it in long enough and had misread the time. My Mom made a loaf and it turned out awesome! had my first sandwich in 8 months when she baked that for me. I even used some to make grilled cheese…

Congratulations on toughing it out!! I was a smoker for 27 years (2+ pack a day for the last 15 years of that) and I have not had a cigarette in 11 years. I started when I was around 11 or 12. I had tried several times before but this time I was just so sick of it controlling every minute of my life. I would plan my day…

I am definitely trying this when I get home. It looks simple enough for me to make. Thanks for sharing!

I think the adage YMMV (your mileage may vary) people use here probably holds very true. I started out very low carb for about 6 months but was also lifting and continually increasing the weight while doing it, along with some cardio. Because of my location, it's usually been about 10-11 hours since I had a meal when I go…

I posted this progress pic already but maybe on the wrong thread. I had already lost about 10 lbs in my before picture. The in progress picture is from the end of July (about 6 months between the two pictures). I'm happy with the progress I've made so far and now I'm working on building up muscle and definition.
-
That sounds delicious! I've just saved this idea in a file so I'll remember it. Thanks for sharing!

That's what I look for when I buy peanut butter. But I tend to overeat it so I've been avoiding it.

I think you just go to their profile (click on their name) and then hit "Add as Friend" and wait for them to accept the request. If you're already doing that and it's not working then....... I got nothin', lol!

Thanks for the morale boost everyone! The "before" and "in progress" pictures I posted are about 6 months apart but I was already starting to work towards this for months prior to taking the first photo. Seriously commit ed to a LCHF way of eating and also working out at the gym when time permits. The last pic was taken…

I had to sit and debate back and forth with myself for about a month before I decided to go ahead and share my progress picture. I'm really happy about how far I've come so far and now I'm trying to focus on building more muscle bulk. I have my Fitbit "motivator" on in the one picture.
-
Love my fitbit and I compete against my family and a few of my friends. That helps keep me motivated sometimes when I don't feel like doing anything. If I see they're getting close I'll "step it up" a notch, lol.

Wow! Those blueberry bushes look amazing!

Aaaaahhhh!! Another item I have to get now, lol. :p Since starting this wol and reading all the excellent ideas in this group I've easily spent over 500 dollars on "stuff" to try out in the last 2 months. And I'm not even home to try any of it yet! ........ But I will be soon

I agree, this article was excellent! Thanks for posting it!

I've been having the very same problem as you of loose stools for the 9 weeks I have been LCHF. I have just now started experimenting with adding in daily some cream cheese as I noticed I had less issues on previous days when I had a packet of it. I've also started adding a few green olives as well. It's still early but it…

Luckily I'm not having the disaster situations :o or the bile burning. Eggs are pretty much my mainstay (my diary is open). I'm definitely giving your suggestions a try (especially probiotics) once I'm able to get those items. I might be able to get the vinegar here. Thank-you for the suggestions.

@Sunny_Bunny_ You misunderstood, I'm not bound up, I'm having loose bowel movements every time for the last 2 months since starting this. That's the problem. It's also why I thought it might be the high fat. I'm not sure what to do about it other than reduce the fat which will also reduce my satiety at the same time.
-
@lithezebra maybe that's it. I don't think I had any serious "fog" to speak of prior to starting this woe. @Sunny_Bunny_ I'm getting lots of salt (around 5000mg daily). You remember correctly that my variety is limited & no broth or magnesium is available. @reblazed I've been under 20 carbs for over a month so I hope…
-
I have not had a solid movement since starting this WOE over 2 months ago. I don't have access to magnesium supplementation right now so that's not causing it. I keep thinking it must be the high fat but I see so many others saying they are having the opposite problem.

@GaleHawkins I'm 49 but I've been pretty rough on my body and asked it to do a lot of crazy things so who knows, maybe it's doing damage control on the inside. I should be happy with the pound a week average I've had over the last 2 months. I had really hoped the waist would go down and mental clarity/energy would go up.…
