Just because something is natural does not make it better than doctor-prescribed medicine.

As for not being able to eat that much fruit/ veg in a day, that's not true. Unless you are juicing for all three meals then yes, I could see that argument, although that would be a whole different issue. What are the increased health benefits of juicing over simply eating the whole foods? Serious question

I think I love you

Masticating? As in chewing? I do that with my teeth and I feel great too. I love these juicing threads though, always fun.

I regret not taking care of my health earlier in life. Both mental and physical. Never too late, right?

Back when my husband and I were dating, he was in the back yard playing badminton with a friend. I came up behind him and jabbed him in the ribs. By reflex, he flailed his arms, catching me in the teeth with his elbow. I needed a trip to the dentist to fix a chipped tooth. Our pastor was just telling us a story on Sunday…

You rang?

Well that escalated quickly

I'm 5'10" and at my heaviest is was 230#. At my lowest I was 135# which was way too thin on me, although I did absolutely no strength training at that time and had very little muscle tone. Then I got pregnant and gained 75#. I am now at my goal weight which was determined by where my body feels like it's happy. I range…

Totally depends on the day. On days where I'm short of time, I run for time. For example, I have an hour between the time I get home from work and the time I have to pick up my son from daycare. That gives me 30 mins to run, then have time to cool down and have a quick shower. On days when I have more time, I run for…

I agree with this. Run by feel and without paying attention to your HRM. I think your HRM is likely distracting you, and it's too early to worry about your speed. Running without your HRM is strangely freeing. Give it a try ;)

I agree with the comments about fibre. The first time I ate steel cut oats, I thought I was going to die from the gas pain. I decreased the amount and gradually increased it, and now I can tolerate it just fine. If you introduce fibre too fast, you will pay for it.

If you find it cumbersome to count, why not take a couple of weeks as a trial period and see how things go? I would guess there are a number of people on MFP who don't count and are still successful. I am not one of them unfortunately :(

I used to get annoyed. I was having a conversation one day about it with one of my bosses, who is very fit. I was expressing frustration at a mutual acquaintance who continually asked me for advice but didn't follow any of it. My boss replied to me "Not everyone is like you, you know. Not everyone has your drive". Not only…

Know what else boggles my mind? Cosplay. I just don't get it. But you know what? I also realize that humans are individuals with different personalities, needs and interests so if it's not hurting anyone, go for it. Stay out of the "Motivation and Support" board and the irritation will dissolve, I promise

I thought this was going to be a tame thread, but I'm totally in now! Fun! We had ham and meatballs (the soulless kind, so we're okay), salad, brussels sprouts with prosciutto, carrots, corn and lots of delish desserts.

OMG I feel old right now. You seriously don't know who She-Ra is? Princess of Power? He-Man's sister?
-
Well you certainly have your work cut out for you, and you will get lots of responses here. The only thing I have to add is - low sodium, and invest in some Spanx.

Mu hubby still eats his rice this way. Must be a German thing

With kids or without? There's an amazing place near Revelstoke that's a treetop climbing adventure park. They have adult and kid courses. skytrekadventurepark.com/ Right beside it is the Enchanted Forest which I haven't been into but have heard it's very cool too: http://www.enchantedforestbc.com/ There's also Radium…

Nope. Gorgeous on the West Coast. Went for a run today wearing a tank top. I might be bragging just a little, how unCanadian of me. Sorry. Sorry Sorry ;)
-
Thought of that - I started making my husband order it but now they recognize him too. I'm going to have to start disguising my voice and wearing a wig when I pick up ;)

Fantastic! Congrats!

I've had Garmins for years. Pace, distance, etc. is important information for my running. When I was actively losing weight, having a more accurate calorie burn that what MFP estimates was important. My BFF and running partner has a Polar, which calculates steps, sleep patterns and all that jazz. It seems a bit like data…

Given previous threads, methinks OP had gone more than 5.5 seconds without crowing that she's always been naturally thin and doesn't need to count calories. But I doubt we'll ever truly know. Sigh.

I sure hope it's legit. I'm looking forward to a bottle of wine tonight.

Love this answer.

There's a little sushi place in our neighbourhood that makes the most amazing spicy tuna sashimi. I order it at least once a week, with extra sauce. The owner always laughs because she knows my voice over the phone. I would eat it every single day if I wasn't afraid of being judged by the owner.

You're welcome. Glad I could help.

I don't train at home. I can't. I get too distracted by the piles of laundry. Does your gym have child care? Many do. Just make sure to confirm the qualifications of the provider. Do you have a friend that maybe you could trade off child care with? You watch the kids so she can go to the gym (or whatever), and you two…
