You will not get much support around here when it comes to cleansing/ juicing, etc. Have you been weighing/ measuring everything you eat?

Old Navy has decent stuff too. And cheap!

BMI is used as a guideline only, there are many factors to be considered for health. That being said, 16.8 is pretty low.

Good for you for being able to see past the occasional snark and ..ahem...sarcasm and get to the good stuff. Those of us who've been around awhile tend to have little patience on the boards sometimes, but there's a lot of good information floating around if you can ignore us grouches

I imagine your MPF inbox will be flooded in 5...4...3...2...1...

How long has he been bordering "too thin"? As someone who has lost a great deal of weight not once, but twice (dang pregnancy), I've noticed that it takes a while for my body to settle into its happy place once I'm at maintenance. Assuming, he's got his caloric intake nailed down, maybe give it some time?

Sheesh, what a terrible time you've had, but I love your attitude! Feel free to friend me if you like - I'm also a cancer survivor (thyroid)

Totally depends for me. Usually my weight gain is due to too much sodium in my diet over the weekend, which only takes me 2 days or so to shed. If it's "true" weight, closer to a week.

I suffer from depression and anxiety. I have found that the combination of the right medication plus exercise has done me a world of good. The issue is finding the motivation to exercise in the first place. I've finally gotten to the point where, most of the time, I want to exercise because I realize the benefit it has to…

I live in Vancouver, which has won many awards for its tap water, so I drink that. I occasionally drink bottled water only if I have forgotten my own. Except when travelling in the US when all I can seem to find is that Arrowhead bottled water which tastes horrible!

Staff Christmas Party about 10 years ago. I committed the ultimate sin and got stupid-drunk. At the end of the night while me and my colleague were cleaning up, I found a woman's purse. Thinking someone had forgotten it, I opened it up to look for ID so I could track down who it belonged to. What I found instead was a…

I wasn't disputing that it is, rather expressing concern that it is. Taking a derivative of amphetamine seems to be a rather extreme solution. What are the reported side effects of this weight-loss drug?

What the.... I'm so confused right now

IMHO wearing horrible running clothes is a right of passage. My fave running attire is my unicorn running tights. They are amazing! ETA: I am a "real" runner. I think.

Glory Bowl salad. It's somewhat labour intensive but worth it. Best salad you will ever have. The dressing....OMG. Just sub the tofu for the chicken: canadianliving.com/food/glory_bowl.php

Don't tell my 5 year old he's not a real runner because he wore his Iron Man costume.

Let me know if you do it!

+1. This thread is cracking me up. I didn't think runners were so judgmental

Most GPS watches can be set up to auto-pause if it doesn't detect forward movement, such as at a light. I agree that if I'm not getting credit while waiting for a light, I'm not moving. Plus I don't want my pace stats to be affected by waiting for traffic. I'm picky like that.

I'm doing the Hot Chocolate 15km in Vegas this weekend in full tutu and galaxy-printed tights. Come at me, I dare ya ;)

Prunes. Especially the jarred baby food. Miracle!

^^ OK that is a great link. Thanks for putting that all together!

It's a bit of a myth. That being said, you do have a higher risk of injury if you are overweight, if you increase your mileage too quickly, if you have bad form, or if you're not wearing proper shoes. I would recommend you follow a program such as Couch to 5k so you make sure you are increasing at an appropriate pace. If…

Once in a while is fine. Three days in a row, not so much. If you are having trouble reaching your goals, I would suggest you try some higher-calorie foods such as nuts, avocado, etc to get your cals up there. 900 cals is very low.

The first time I lost a bunch of weight (90 lbs), I ended up being skinny-fat due to too much cardio and not enough strength training. I was thin but had terrible body composition. Then I had a baby and gained a bunch of weight, and this last time around I made sure to incorporate strength into my routine. It's made a huge…

Yeah, these threads always dissolve into "they'll eat what you make and stop bending to their will", "be a better parent" yada yada yada. Be prepared for that... I have similar issues in my house - hubby and son are both picky as all get-out. My son will actually vomit if I make him eat something he doesn't like. Very…

Nobody is judging you. Wait, that's not true. Whenever I see someone at the pool who is overweight or obese, I judge them. I think to myself "I admire you. Good for you for getting in the pool and not giving two $h!t$ what anyone else thinks." I silently cheer them on. Then I get on with my day. I hope you feel better…

Been there. Granted I only have one child, but suffered with PPD and obesity. My suggestion is to try your hardest to get over some of your "mommy guilt". We all have it. I suspect that you feel you need to be paying attention to your kids 100% of the time while they're awake, otherwise you're not being a good mom. The…
