It seems a few people have missed the point. I understood what you meant OP.

Tough situation, especially with the shared custody scenario. Are you on friendly terms with your ex, where you could discuss with him what the doctor said and work together? I agree with the others about getting her involved in a sport she enjoys. Your local rec centre should have inexpensive options, so she can try a few…

Nope, not too soon. Actually I think it's a good idea for you to do it. It will give you a good idea of what to expect for the March 5th one, which will hopefully decrease some of the pre-race jitters.

No, absolutely not.

Agreed. We call them the "vultures" in our office. It's like they have radar for free food and as soon as someone sets something out, it becomes a free-for-all for a bunch of people who act like they haven't eaten in a week. It's strange to me.

Not sure about waterproof mp3 players, but a couple of years ago I bought a waterproof case for my mom's iPhone, as she is a swimmer too. It has an arm band and waterproof ear buds. She really likes it. Maybe search on Amazon?

My guess is jasmine or basmati.

I am trying to picture someone eating a banana while running. Lol. I'd go with jelly beans and Gatorade. Jelly beans are easy to transport and Gatorade has the sodium you'll need to replenish from sweating.

What you need to consider and understand is that how you fuel your body in the days leading up to your run is much more important than the actual day. I get it that you hit the wall and feel like you need an energy boost, but you will find that if you pay more attention to your nutrition and hydration every day, rather…

Coke? That's a new one for me. As someone else mentioned, fuel during that length of run isn't necessary. However if you must fuel up, why not try gels or chews made specifically for this purpose? If it's a cost consideration try jelly beans which are easily carried, or those small pouches of apple sauce. Or Gatorade.

I've heard of people drinking ACV but I've yet to figure out the point. What is it supposed to do? ACV doesn't sound like something I'd enjoy drinking.

I've recently signed up for a triathlon, so I'm training in the pool. Yesterday I went for a swim and caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror in my swimsuit. I came to the realization that I will NEVER have a bikini body, but that wasn't my NSV. My NSV is that for the first time, I realized that I look damn good in a…

Same for chicken on the hormone thing. I've heard of tourtiere but I think that's mainly a Quebec/ eastern Canada thing. Out in the West Coast, you don't hear of it often. Japadog is big on the West Coast as is sushi. Not sure if those are regional too.

Oh I'd forgotten Nanaimo Bars. Yummmm

If I understand your question correctly, no it will not increase the fat burning in your stomach area any more than if you were not sucking in your gut. However, your running form will improve overall by keeping your core engaged while running. Not sucking in your gut exactly, but being aware of those muscles. I hope I'm…

I fail to see the difference between that or one of those pouches, which I keep in my car for a quick shot of energy before a run. Why's everyone up in arms? I didn't get the impression that OP is advocating the baby-food diet.

Fascinating topic. I'm not sure of my position on this, but I'm enjoying the respectful debate.

What is the blood diet?

+1 for the BRAT diet. Don't worry about getting enough calories until your body recovers.

Anxiety, depression and PTSD here. Exercise is amazing therapy for me. Feel free to add.
