Hoo boy Dr. Fuhrman is one of Dr. Oz's cronies, isn't he?

Sounds like you're ready to go. Does your plan include weighing, measuring and counting the calories in your food?

If you're hungry and your tummy can handle it, eat.

I don't know how any magazine can make than claim. I'm 5'10" and 10lbs is nothing on me, but on my 5'2" girlfriend I think it would be 2 dress sizes.

My question whenever a new runner asks about shin splints is your shoes - did you get properly fitted at a running store? It's very likely you are wearing the wrong/ old shoes. Shin splints will continue to get worse if you don't address the issue.

Oh snap!

Will you be logging? I've been on vacation a few times during my MFP journey - sometimes I was able to log, sometimes I wasn't. If I learned anything, it's to have a good time but not go crazy. Be prepared to put on a couple of pounds, but you should be able to get the weight off again within 2 weeks. Enjoy yourself.

OK, I had to take a breath before responding because OPs attitude towards her parents is disgusting to me. But....she's being honest and asking for advice so here goes: OP, you cannot make your boyfriend do what you want. In fact the more you push, the more likely he is to back away from you which might actually be the…

I have the benefit of living in a mild climate so I can run outdoors pretty well any time of year. Mentally, I just can't do the treadmill. I get bored in less than 5 minutes. When I'm outside there's variable terrain, nature, people, etc. I'm not sure of the science, but I would imagine running outside would be a better…

It's normal at your age to sound like Rice Krispies. Keep going ;)

My first run was quite a long time ago. I don't remember much except that I cried after because I was obese and felt so hopeless. I'm now a half marathoner. Keep at it, it does get better.

Did you mean to post this on your personal page instead of a public forum?
-
To clarify - you mean a full marathon as in 42km (26 miles) right? I've seen some people refer to other race distances as a marathon on here, so just wanted to clarify.

How to get a bikini body: get a bikini. Put it on your body. Don't worry about what other people think. If you want to wear a bikini, go for it.

Sounds like you may have hit rock bottom. As much as it sucks, that's a good place to be. It means you're ready. I don't know anyone who has succeeded at weight loss the first time around.

Drinking wine and chatting with you fine MFP peeps

Believing that if I'd worked out, I could go to McDonald's and eat whatever I wanted with no consequences. Yeah. Math is not my strong suit.

First off, congrats on your success. That's quite an accomplishment! I've maintained for 18 months now. My only advice is to avoid getting complacent. Continue to log, make sensible choices, remain active, and weigh yourself occasionally so you can take corrective measures if you start falling back into old habits. And…

I just felt the need to pop back in here to say....it's 21 degrees here in Vancouver today. Neener.

WTF?!? Have we switched from Mean People Friday to Kitteh Friday? I missed the memo

Maybe I'm misunderstanding your question. Your original post asks if there is "anyone else" following the plan. Which implies that YOU are following the plan. But now you say you aren't following the plan and in fact haven't even really read about it. Can you clarify what you're looking for here?

ROFL I love this response. You and I seem to speak the same sarcastic language....sending you a FR As to pants, try Old Navy - they have pretty decent workout gear. When I was big I had a pair of capris that I loved. Make sure you get something with a drawstring and preferably skin tight/ leggings so they don't move around…

No. I don't want to look like a weirdo LOL. Have you looked into a stand-up desk?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

LOLs. New here?

LOLs. MFP on April 1 is the most fun EVAH!!
-
Pfft. Easy-peasy. I can do a marathon and a half per day, why can't you?

Clearly I've been doing this wrong all along
