  • Based on your goals, 60 pounds can happen; but the way you are starting off is NOT the way to do it. "Only eating one meal a day (from 6 PM-8PM) with tea in the morning and a small fruit salad during lunch" and "run 2 miles and lift weights 5-6 days a week" is not the way to do it. Sure, you are exercising a great deal,…
  • Sounds like it's the salt. Back of the salt, eat the same foods, and see what the scale looks like in three weeks. Drink a crapload of water to push the excess water out.
  • That sucks! And I used to complain about my mom sabotaging my efforts by bringing chips into the home...I won't complain anymore. It's unfortunate you are experiencing this. Hope you venting a bit will help you to keep going.
  • My latest NSV is that I went kayaking (for the first time in my life) with my husband. We rented the tandem kayak, which has a weight limit of 450 pounds. He's 210, I'm 220. A year ago, this would not have been possible. Great experience!
  • Wow what a transformation! Almost looks like two different people, but I know it's real!
  • Those side by sides changes everything! Congrats!
  • Thank you all for your input.
  • Everyone is going to give you a different answer. Try what works for you. I like to stay between 1200 and 1500 calories. My body tends to release the fat faster at this lower calorie consumption. I think if I'm at 2000 calories, my body will retain current weight. Any more than that, I'm gaining. Everyone's BMR (basal…
  • Yea I should've weighed. I was being lazy. After reading the responses, I need to weigh as much as possible. I guess with the oil is what I was questioning. I need a digital scale too to become more accurate. No excuses.
  • Great ideas... Same here on the eating out! I have become very dissatisfied with the quality of restaurant food! Spending $30-40 for a meal at a place puts a bad taste in my mouth. Hubby and I kayaked this morning and spent $45 (for rental)....it was worth EVERY PENNY!
  • Yeah I know  . I thanked him for considering me so much but I just didn't want another salad. I eat salads all the time. But we talked after I made the post and received some feedback. I'm going to be more flexible and when he wants to go out, we'll go. I'm going to make good choices and be responsible.
  • Thank you, I respect that and I have come this far....it's just time for me to make some more adjustments. When I said in my subject line, 'Everything is Changing' it's true! Everything is changing....when I go out, I can't just lose all control...that's just silly and I don't want to live with regrets. The way I view food…
  • Thanks for the ideas!
  • I agree that I don't have to respond to every single post, favorable or not (though I do find it a little difficult to NOT respond). And because this is the internet, I could have interpreted some of the responses as rude when the people were just giving their opinion. I feel like some people did not understand my…
  • Thank you so much for your understanding and advice...I will surely take heed! Yes, my husband is awesome! And we went kayaking this morning....what an experience!!!! I really enjoyed it...words can't even do it justice
  • I hear ya and thanks for getting where I'm coming from. When I first started my weight loss process, I logged everything. But it does get tedious. It's not that I want to lie...for what? It's just that some things seem more trouble than it's worth trying to measure. But then when I stop measuring, I find that my portions…
  • Yup, that's what I've done too. I'm finding what works and what doesn't. But since I've been eating at home for the last couple of weeks. When he mentioned going out, I froze. Probably because the last time we went out, I pigged out. This is usually what I do....but I'm good now, and I will find my balance. Thanks for…
  • Nope, I just won't go! Good thing is right now my only friend that I go out with is hubby, and we don't go out often, so I guess I'm ok :-)
  • Sorry you don't understand. But good thing is a lot of people do. I talked with my husband after reading several replies and I know what I need to do. I will enjoy myself, not in the same way that I used to (overeating, unhealthy options), but with no fear of sabotaging my efforts, either.
  • Thank you for replying, but let me quickly explain something: I haven't been on MFP in 4 years. It has been 10 days since I've been logged back on. And if a question has been asked 20 times in different variations, how am I supposed to know? Am I supposed to go and research the question before asking? I mean, if people…
  • I don't know OP. Trying to lose body fat sucks! It's frustrating, depressing, rewarding....all in the same day.
  • Many hugs to you maggibailey!!! Thank you for your kind words. My feelings were a little hurt by some of the comments, but I saw the message in each one beyond the snarky-ness :-). I told my husband how I felt bad and that I came to MFP to get insight and we talked about different ideas and he said he totally understood…
  • A pant size? A lot! I've released 70 pounds, and my pant size went from 24/26 to a 20. Just 4 pant sizes. My 20s are now big in the waist (which is awesome!), but my lower half is large, so I need to large size (I could do an 18, but 20s provide the lower body room that I need). So I imagine that I will need to lose much…
  • Ahhh! The joys of making changes to lose body fat! All I'm going to say is keep going, keep reassessing your choices. You're doing your body more justice by trying than not, so please, don't give up. Your body will thank you for it.
  • You're not the only one who feels the guilt....And that fact that you get better and go longer before having an unhealthy meal or food says a lot. Remember, this is a journey...Especially with food, it may take longer to have the strength to say 'no' to certain things; or you may find that certain unhealthy foods will stay…
  • Yes, yes I do (panic)....Some days I have ate perfectly healthy, only to binge right before bed or at dinner time! I'm finding that for me, the best thing to do is to keep the unhealthy stuff out of the house, if at all possible (I live with 5 other people, so that is not possible, but I'm doing my part to not buy the…
  • I will....Thank you.
  • Um.... That's why I posted the question....To help figure it out. It may not be hard for you but it sure feels hard for me. But I will do it. My husband understands. I guess that's all that matters. Thanks for the advice though.
  • Yeah yeah I know (smile)! That's why I asked. I felt bad (for declining hubby's request) but I'm so used to having control of my eating by cooking and prepping at home, so it was just easier to decline. That's why I reached out to mfp for ideas and encouragement because I don't want to stop 'living' just to be slim.
  • Thank you! This is what I wanted...Advice and ideas....Not attacks (sorry, but rudeness is unnecessary)! Yes, those ideas are great and we will incorporate them. I have to keep allowing my mind to change on how I view food and social life. I don't have to eat bad Everytime I go out and I don't have to be afraid if going…
