Either you look a lot bigger sitting down, or you're one lucky woman because you look like you lost a lot more than 40#! Congratulations! That goes to show how different our bodies are. What's you SW and CW?
-
Neither. You should help if you know what to do because everyone doesn't know. The manual scale that I have calibrates in ounces only; so, if I use the drop down menu and there is no option for ounces, but grams only, then I have to play with ratios to get the most accurate calorie count. Grade school math did it's job!…

Yes, you deserve many congrats! You have accomplished what so many dream of doing. Others try all their lives, only to fail time and time again. Yeah, go on and snag a couple of dates.

You deserve that red suit and you look great in it! Congratulations....continued successes for you!

When I realized the scale was discouraging me, though I was doing the work, I stopped getting on it until I was emotionally ready to accept the number presented to me. I've been back on MFP for 36 days and I'm not going near the scale. If your doing the work, your body will change. Weighing yourself is fine, but if it's…

Try dropping 45 and gaining double. Even worse are those who lose like 200-300 pounds, only for it to come back.

First off, I like your humor. Secondly, I totally feel your pain. I've been there. 238-197-290, now somewhere between 220 and under. IDK my current weight because I'm too emotionally unstable to get on the scale to find out. But this time, dropping the fat seems so much harder. . Perhaps because I put myself in a position…

Oh wow!

I think the OP has exited stage left. I know when I posted for the first time, some of the responses seemed so harsh. But one lady had to remind me that (1) This is the internet - we put ourselves out there for people to respond and how they respond is on them, not us (2) It is so easy to misunderstand or not catch the…

Oh y'all need to get married! Sounds like he's a keeper! :-)

Wise lady you are. Sometimes, we have to be our own support before we can take good support from anyone else. No where else but up for you!
-
Yes!!! A lot of times, just knowing that SOMEONE else other than ourselves can see the changes gives us some sort of validation.
-
Awww I'm about to cry!!!!!! That is so sweet!
-
LOL, at least wifey is trying, right? Sometimes, we do have to respectfully tell our spouses to give us a little breathing room. I hope she has been listening, but I hope you aren't too harsh with her. Sounds like she cares a lot for you. Good for your coworkers. The support is always nice to have around.

Oh I'm in love with love! He loves you and he gets it! I'm so happy for you all! And you loved him enough to not push him!!! Yes!!!!
-
Oh this is beautiful!!!!!

I hear what you're saying about the wording. Oh how words hold so much power. 'Sticks and stones my *kitten*!' LOL. Your husband, in the way he supports you, reminds me of mine. Sounds like you were fortunate to be partnered with a good man. :-)

One year, my mom, being aware of my healthy lifestyle change, instead of buying me cake for my birthday, she bought me a mixed fruit tray and a mixed veggie tray. Sometimes I feel like my mom is upset that I'm changing on her, but she actually has decided to become vegan as well! She says that it was easier for her to make…

My husband does SO many supportive things to aid in my goals - anything from moving our heavy bed from one place to another so that I can have more space in our bedroom to exercise (we live with many people and sometimes our bedroom is the only available spot) to changing his food desires to match mine so that I don't have…

I can relate: in 2012, with the help of MFP, I started at 238 and got down to 197. By 2016, I was at 290 pounds! It's so easy to because un-mindful of those things we need to be most mindful about. But I have good news! In Jan 2016, I was disgusted with myself. I decided to go all in! Going for all of my goals, even the…

ilovemyfreckles : I hear you. Everyone is right, but I know the it can seem SO slow when you want the fat gone YESTERDAY!!!!! See, we're not mindful of our bad habits that got the fat on,but we're mindful of our improved habit to get the fat off, then we start watching the mirrors and scales like a clock. Try to refocus on…

Sounds like the answers you need are in your own post: "I loosened up on my diet'" "Diet is not bad but not great'" "I treat myself a couple of times a week," "Large salad with lots of pesto and cheese." Last time I loosened up on my diet, I gained 90#. You are exercising a great deal, but remember, you cannot out train a…

Do you normally binge at night? It sounds like your binging is more mental than physical- meaning, you've changed your diet so much from pre-weight loss days that your brain or something inside is wanting you to have that same 'high' you got from the unhealthy foods. So you binge. You don't want to, but you can't help it.…

In my opinion, stop checking the scale so often. I know for me, being on the scale all the time became one big *kitten* disappointment. So now, I plan to get on there maybe once a month.
-
No no, got one better....got off my *kitten*! Before making a change, I would lay in the bed almost all day and let my husband do most of the cooking. He would bring food to the bed and we would eat so freaking much. Then lay down. It was pathetic when I think about it...

Less fast food and more cooking.

I think it's easy for some people on here to tell you to ignore them, but based on what type of environment you work in, that may be easier said than done. Some year ago, I worked in an office setting that pretty much had 10-12 people in one OPEN area, working at our little (connected) desks all day. It wasn't a call…

Yes, but unless you are in North Dallas, TX, I don't think we'll be much use to each other

I did the 10 day cleanse. I'm glad I did it, at the time...but I have no desire or plan to do it again. There were some benefits to the cleanse, though: (1) I learned new smoothie recipes. (2) I learned that drinking smoothies all day is WACK! (3) I learned how to incorporate smoothies into my healthy diet, not make them a…

I totally understand the disgusting feeling...and while it is tempting to cut back calories drastically to balance out, there's no need. Drink a lot of water, get some sleep (well, you might be up peeing in the middle of the night because of the water), and start over with healthy choices tomorrow. You'll forget this day…
