I am 5'4”. A lot older than you, though! I started at 190. Have lost over 50 pounds. It took me a year, so be patient! I have kept it off for over a year. I have pics on my profile. Not real clear, but you will see a change!

Bump. I am at 7 miles, and wondered the same thing.

I NEVER exercised before mfp. Now I run 5 days almost every week. I do allow myself at least one day a week of being a slug:)

Yes, it is safe on the second flour, but good luck getting it there. They are heavy and awkward! I do think it will be noisy in the room below, but not too much you can do about that.

1. Log everything that goes in your mouth. Only lying to yourself if you don't. 2. Exercise at least 30 minutes at least 5 days a week. It will become habit after a while. 3. Eat your exercise calories. You earned that extra food:) 4. Don't let one bad day/meal/week derail you. 5. Do this for you, and only you. You are…

I bought a digital scale at Wal-mart for $10 a year ago. Could not live without it. I use measuring spoon/cups when I can, and scales for anything that you cannot measure accurately by volume.

I have successfully finished it, as well as bridge to 10K. Best programs ever! I ran 6 miles on Friday and felt like I could have ran forever. Never thought I would be a runner, but I am totally addicted!

I use the recipe I have always used, but cut the calories in the topping. I like to cook up a cup or so of frozen strawberries with a teaspoon of sugar. Mash them once they are cooked, then add cornstarch to thicken. Put on waffles or pancakes. I do not use butter or margarine on top of my pancakes or waffles if I use this…

Non Scale Victory. I wondered when I first joined, too!

First of all, I think of it as ” tracking” my calories, not counting. Recording them on your phone will get more efficient the longer you are here. Also, there is a bar code reader on the app. It is very helpful on packaged food. Pretty soon, your usual foods will all be in your log, and you can just click to add. If you…

I freeze the milk chocolate dreamy clusters candy. My favorite! Just bought ice cream sandwiches today. Can't wait to try them!

You could put in 0 for the calories burned.

I love food too! Some days, the only reason I exercise is so I can eat more! That is why I love MFP. Move more, eat more. Life is good.

I just tried a new way this morning. Nuked a serving of frozen strawberries and added 1 tsp sugar. Cut back water on oatmeal to make it thicker, then added the strawberries after oatmeal was done. To die for!

"It's for iPhone. Us droid users don't get that feature for MFP. LOL :) " It is on the android app, also. Just took a little longer to get it for us!

When I started a year ago, I set my goal for a 30 pound loss. After I lost it so easily, I decided to go for 20 more. I agree that it is a total no-brainer to lose weight on this site. Just be honest, and it works!

I get pain in my hip area when I need new running shoes. I also am sore after a long run, but have never had pain like you describe. I hope you get to feeling better. Might just need to rest your body for a day or so.

Cows, and the occasional deer. I can run 5 miles and never see a car. Simply awesome!

I always use the calorie count from tm. It takes into account the speed and incline. I do not think it is necessary to have a hrm. Have lost 50 pounds without one.
-
I agree with couch to 5k. I am a graduate who is now doing bridge to 10k. Currently on week 3.
-
350 as of today. Have never taken a day off.

One cheat day won't ruin it all. However, if you cheat too much, it is really hard to get back on track. I don't beat myself up over a bad day. I allow myself a cheat day almost every week. However,i still log all my calories to stay accountable. And, my cheat days are only about 500 cals over.

I have always logged it as carpentry, but only log half my time.

I did program 3 times before I became a graduate! Week 6 sucked for me. I did it in the summer so I could run outside. I agree that outside is harder, but I think it is because you run faster outside. You set a pace on TM and go with it, but I find my pace is faster outside. I just finished week 1 of bridge to 10k. I have…

Sargento low fat string cheese. 50 cals each. Baby carrots, 35 cals in 3oz.

I am new to running, and also sad when I can't run. It makes such a huge difference in my mood. Hope your ankle gets better and you can get going again soon!
-
I agree with getting new shoes. Makes all the difference in the world. I can tell when mine are getting worn out, because parts of my body hurt that normally don't when I run.

I have running socks and have never got blisters. Of course, I usually don't run more than 2 miles a day.
