Either that means Im becoming a "real runner" or that I need actual "running" socks...I'm leaning towards needing new running socks sadly :/ I have good running shoes and got fitted at the running store.

  • I have running socks and have never got blisters. Of course, I usually don't run more than 2 miles a day.

There is no reason to get blisters. I've never had one. Not even close. Good running shoes that have been properly fitted are the key. Socks may help, but not if the shoes aren't right.

I have been running over 2 years. No blisters, thankfully! I have lost toenails though.
Buy some good wicking running socks! Your feet will love you.

I guess take it either way. :) About the running socks... I got the special "running socks" from the store (you know the really thin ones that mold to your feet and all that), and my feet slid around so much in my shoes that I got blister after blister after blister wearing those things! So I went back to my old hanes ankle socks (they're thicker for exercise) and haven't had a blister since. Maybe that just means that my shoes are too big, but before you invest in a bunch of expensive running socks, try out one pair first to see if they work for you or not.

    1) Proper fitting shoes
    2) Good running socks

I've run 50 mile weeks and never got a blister unless one of the above was missing.

Actually, some people are just more prone to blisters. Running socks can def. help. I have a friend who swears by "The Right Sock" it's a double layered sock. I've never used it, she says it's amazing. I prefer super thin moisture wicking socks. Also, covering your feet with body glide can help too.

Go with the toesocks from http://www.injinji.com/ I got into them when i needed something to help with the sweat in my vibram five fingers but also wear them with normal shoes. no more blister issues, even if you getting your feet wet in warrior dash style runs...

Socks make a huge difference. A few years back I had a blister the size of my head on my foot after running a ten miler. With good socks, I trained for and ran a full marathon without any blisters.
