You're just going to have to get used to the idea of working out late at night, or early in the morning. 1,200 calories is very realistic, it's just going to take serious motivation, and you're going to have to choose your foods carefully. Protein and fiber are super filling, so make sure your meals are saturated in it.…

Well that's annoying...

Dude...you don't look like the same person. Great work!

I think you're getting vegetarian confused with vegan. Vegetarians don't eat any meat, but are still allowed to use animal byproducts, assuming it doesn't harm the animal. Vegans are a different breed. For various moral and ethical reasons, they've decided that they don't want to use any animal byproducts or eat any meat.…

I reheat my Uncle Ben's Rice constantly. If you use the microwave be sure to put water in it, and fluff it once or twice while reheating. I typically reheat in the stove with beans or something of the like.

Don't worry about the pounds you gain if you do...they're temporary. It's not hydrogenanted fat like the rest of you. It's H2O and very simple to get rid of.

Calories should be your main concern. Calories in, calories out. If you expend more calories than you eat, you lose weight. If the inverse is true you gain weight. You went over 3 carbs today...each carb has 7 calories in it. You went 21 calories over budget (assuming you were maxed on fat and protein). That won't be a big…

Best way to deal with trolls: just ignore them. Internet flame wars are to be avoided at all costs. They solve nothing and raise blood pressures.

I made a trail mix that I loved. It was full of dried bannana chips, cashews, macadamia nuts, brazil nuts, dark chocolate chips, coconut, and papaya. It was wonderful, and full of all healthy ingredients. The only problem was I didn't realize there was a difference between half a cup of this wonderful mix and say....half a…

I make a mean grilled ham sandwich. Take two peieces of whole wheat bread (150 calories), 3 oz of lean ham deli meat (60 calories), and a slice of swiss cheese (60 calories). Dip the sandwich in egg yolk (70 calories) with garlic salt, pepper, and oregeno. Grill both sides until golden brown. It's a delicious lunch, and…

The journey of a thousand miles begins with only one step.

Hrm...my "health" class was only a ruse to promote abstinence. We learned about every STD known to humankind, saw very detailed and gross pictures of said diseases, but never learned about healthy eating. In fact, I never learned how to eat healthy in school...not once. We did cover the food pyramid one day in the 3rd…

I have at least one diet coke a day...at least.

Oatmeal is nice, I mix it with yogurt to get some protein and throw in an egg. The key to keeping hunger at bay is to eat high fiber, high protein foods.

It's all about dedication, how long you're willing to go. When things get rough (and they will during the first 3 weeks of working out) just think about what you have to do THIS day to get through. Tomorrow is another day, and we can worry about it when the time comes.

6 good days vs. 1 bad day...let's do the math. It all depends on how badly you exceed your BMR, but one bad day will only retard weight loss, not inhibit. I, personally, like to keep cheat meals to a minimum to expedite my own weight loss, but everyone needs them occasionally to remain sane during the exhausting diet…

Sushi can be pretty healthy, actually. You just have to make sure to eat the non sweet ones (I really dislike them anyway) and to watch how much you eat. I'm full after around 6, but I could eat 18, haha.

Well, you can claim that you lose fat and muscle, but since I've been eating under my BMR I lost 90 pounds and have very clearly gained muscle. Also, when I gain my muscle, my BMR isn't dropping. It's raising because it takes more calories to keep muscle alive than fat. Lean muscle (that stuff I've been gaining while…

Why would you eat your exercise calories if you're trying to lose weight. The only way to lose weight is to create a calorie deficit so that your body is forced to pull from its storage (your fat cells) to reach its calorie requirement. This process burns fat, and loses weight. If you're already exactly where you want to…

BMR is your basic metabolic rate. It's the amount of calories your body consumes naturally to keep your body functioning. If you do not eat your daily BMR, your body has to pull from its energy storage (fat) in order to to meet its standards for the day. If you eat under your BMR (as I do every day), you lose what you…

I'm not sure how much you're eating, but you should probably be eating at least 1,100-1,200 calories a day (minimum) if you're exercising regularly. Your body needs some fuel in order to burn fat. That being said, assuming you're eating enough calorically, some foods stay with you longer than others. I eat a pretty…

Lean muscle increases your metabolism. Often you build this over time during cardio exercises, but cardio itself won't increase your metabolism.

Of the ones already mentioned, Superbad, Best in Show, and Anchorman are definately my favorites. Of ones that haven't been mentioned: Monty Python and the Holy Grail (seriously, no one's mentioned that?) Robin Hood Men in Tights Spaceballs Red (brand new, but had me rolling on the floor) Zombieland (also surprised no one…

Are you buying jeans vs. dress pants? I'm 2 sizes bigger in dress clothes than I am casual wear. Not sure if I'm stating an obviously known fact or not...(or if it even applies to womens' wear.)

This is one of those daily activities that's not really worth mentioning. The amount of calories that would be burnt would vary drastically from person to person, and it's calculated in your daily lifestyle anyway.

Dear God! You don't know what Chicken Fried Steak is? Notice the capitalization. It was no accident. Chicken Fried Steak is a god among southern vittles. You MUST have some next time you get a cheat meal. Divine! (Best accompanied by green beans or turnip greens, mashed potatoes, white gravy, and yeast rolls)

You must be from south Texas. Up here in West Texas we don't know what a breakfast taco is...it's a burrito! That being said, I <3 breakfast burritos. Big ol' mounds of unhealthy fat, grease, and wonder. My favorite is potato, egg, chorizo, and cheese.

Meh, under isn't the end of the world, especially since MFP overestimates a little bit on what you need. I eat until I'm full, or I reach where I need to be calorically. If you're not hungry, don't eat just to make a number correct.

You're going to lose the weight whether you log it or not. I think being pleasantly surprised by not logging it would be better than mildly disappointed by logging it.

I watch my calories and stay under 1,600 a day but try for 1,500. I have to make sure to eat healthy foods just because if I don't I won't have energy in the gym. I try to burn 1,000 calories a day in the gym which is typically done with a 45 minute spin class and then a little bit extra something (eliptical, treadmill,…
