I have the same problem. I'm vegetarian and on a tight budget. I try to eat a lot of tofu, brown rice, and black beans. You may want to up your calories more though, especially if you are working out.

I eat tofu a lot for breakfast. Other than that; black beans, brown rice/quinoa, nutritional yeast, lots of frozen veggies. I'm simple, though.

I would say lightly active. Sedentary to me means that you have an office job and never exercise. Haha.

I like them. I'm vegetarian and I usually make 'chicken' alfredo. It takes getting used to, but I think they're yummy. You need to rinse them really well and the fishy smell goes away after cooking. (:

I'm around the same age and I have the same fear. I was on HCG a while back and since then it seems like I gain weight so easily and barely lose it. It's pretty frustrating.

People keep bringing up soy protein, what about protein from other plant sources like nuts and legumes? I'm vegan though, so I may be a bit biased.

The only way I was able to cut back is to stop drinking everything but water. Not for the weak of heart, but it worked for me! Stevia is an option, it just takes a while to get used to the taste.
