Wondering if anyone who has ankle issues has had success with them?I feel I need more stability because of a very bad ankle injury. I wear a pair of minimalist casual shoes(vivo barefoot)and ended up with plantar fasciitis from them. It's very rocky where we live. Once I added in some heel cushions, the fasciitis went away.…

When I run,I run early in the morning and for now,I run fasted.I need a couple of hours to digest most things I eat so food before a run is not an option. As for lifting,I eat protein before and after but again, not too close to the time I lift. As an example, today I ate around 730am and I am going to lift about 3 hours…

The Swedish have a training method for speed called fartlek. Here is a link of one way to do it..seems quite simple. Adding in speed I believe is something to be done after you have completed the c25k as speed is not the focus of running when you are just learning to run. The focus is building up the strength in the…

I guess what I should have said is google a recipe and you can find a suitable alternative to boxed soup mix. Apologies if I have offended the lipton soup crowd :)

This is due to ketosis..I have it as well..I also often have to deal with metal mouth and brush my teeth all the time. Not everyone has to be below 50 grams to be in ketosis..for some it comes with less than 80 grams

Sweet potato will absorb the heat as well as squash..also coconut milk

I remember reading that when we eat late at night our body does not rest properly. Normally in rest, the body repairs itself and when we have eaten late, the body spends it's time digesting and we wake up tired. Lots of people do fasting so it won't kill you to eat too few calories, try and make up for it the next day

here is Mark's take on it..would love to find another article I was reading on this subject before.Fascinating stuff http://www.marksdailyapple.com/is-rice-unhealthy/#axzz2fN4ycD4h

I think once you get to your goal, things should improve. Stepping away from MFP from time to time should help as well. I think we can get so bogged down by all of this information and for our own mental well being we need to read a book,go for a walk,do something fun and not think. I blame being overly connected to…

With carbs set at 40%,I would assume that's why your carb flu is lasting so long. It can take longer for some people to detox from grains(especially if you were really grain heavy). I would think about lowering carbs to about 15-20%,protein to 30% and the rest fat. 15-20% of carbs is not considered low(I eat far lower than…

If you have gone low carb there are lots of things that can be an issue. All have been mentioned above. Another thing to consider is drinking a lot more water than you are used to as this helps to flush things out of the body. Magnesium, more salt(broth for example)and potassium rich foods. The only time I get cramps are…

When baking for my child I use local honey or coconut sugar,or a high graded maple syrup. Prior to going to AIP Whole 30,I was using a liquid stevia that is vanilla flavoured. I have read that stevia has a similar molecular structure to steroids I think any time you see mass marketing behind a product, chances are it will…

I have water kefir grains and have been trying to find a good recipe/method for getting started. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

It took me almost 2 weeks to the day to be in ketosis.I was able to tell by the breathe and the awful taste in my mouth as well as the change in the smell of urine. Seeing that you have so little weight to lose,I would think that being at 10% might be better for you. Stick with it and try and get past the hump,it is a huge…

I am seeing improvements, the main issue I deal with is leaky gut and it's going well. I don't have access to much grass fed meat but I can at least get antibiotic/hormone free and free range. Most of my vegetables are organic as well.

Just a quick note to say that I do low carb/high fat without dairy and there are lots of others who do the same on here. It's a matter of eating fatty meats, coconut oil, nuts, olive oil, etc. It's not difficult for me at all. Hope you continue to feel great from the whole 30. I am on week 6 and feel really good but still…

This will all pass soon. I am on week 6 of a whole 30 and it's going great,I'm doing an Auto Immune Whole 30. Get lots of rest and be gentle with yourself.

I have always had a problem digesting high amounts of coconut oil if I eat it on it's own. I end up in the same situation of having it repeat on me for hours on end. Bullet proof coffee can also cause issues of repeating as coffee is acidic and the combination of high fat and acid are not the best for some people. I agree…

This is my new mission for the weeks to come..oily fish. I had a tin in olive oil yesterday and ate them with some red cabbage and squeezed some lime over them..they were intense but I enjoyed them and plan on eating them 2-3 times per week.

I am on a long term whole 30 for Auto Immune issues.I have finished 30 days earlier this week but I plan on going on for a long time to come as it's going to take longer than 30 days to fix my health issues. I can say that from a sugar addicts perspective(that would be me),once I added back in dairy before it led to sugar…

you can just do it but I know a lot of people find the daily emails really helpful. all the information is on the site and there is also a really great forum with lots of people to get help from. we have a private support group on fb and if u decide to do the whole 30,we are there for support I finish the first 30 days…

coming to the end of my second whole 30 but planning to just keep eating this way as I am trying to correct my leaky gut. It's such a great thing and I feel SO much better but I am a work in progress with a long way to go. I am not in it for weight loss but will be curious to see where I am in a couple of days. It's…

I bought goat today for the first time and I love to cook oxtail. I am a chef so not afraid to cook anything but b/c I was a veggie for so many years I never ended up eating the stuff I was cooking. I have cooked brains, crocodile, kangaroo, and all forms of wild animals. Tongue is good cooked in the pressure cooker btw

I am a work in progress. Auto Immune Paleo is addressing a lot of my issues but still not there yet and think I have a long way to go. I was a vegetarian for about 20 years and think it did lots of damage that I am slowly correcting. I feel a million times better when I eat like this, especially when I avoid sugar and…

Shannon, If you can get nuts, you can make your own nut butter very easily. Take the raw nuts and throw in the food processor and blend.I add some salt and sometimes cinnamon. I also use raw nuts and roast them myself.
